REFUELING VEHICLE ROUTING SYSTEM

The refueling vehicle routing system can use a refueling vehicle routing application to compute a set of fuel delivery routes for a fleet of refueling vehicles for multiple different target vehicles to be serviced via cooperating with a refueling scenario simulator. The refueling scenario simulator can run scenarios of different sets of refueling routes to refuel target vehicles in light of an available set of assets, and then the application can supply results of how the versions of the set of refueling routes for the fleet of refueling vehicles are going to satisfy anticipated refueling needs for the target vehicles; to indicate any refueling stops that could be late, early, and/or missed entirely, for a service window of time; as well as to show a measure of how cost effective each of the refueling routes are at the satisfying of the needs for the target vehicles.

Method and apparatus for determining object position

An object positioning method and apparatus is disclosed. The object positioning apparatus may obtain a reference position of an object, obtain a map-based heading angle of the object based on waypoints on a map, and determine a current position of the object based on the reference position and the map-based heading angle.

Decoding a route encoded by a probabilistic encoding data structure

A mobile apparatus receives a route response including information identifying a starting location and a target location of a route and an encoding data structure encoding the route. The encoding data structure is a probabilistic data structure configured to not provide false negatives. The mobile apparatus uses the information identifying the starting and target locations to identify a decoded origin traversable map element (TME) and a decoded target TME of the mobile version of the digital map for the route; accesses map information for determining a cost value for TMEs of the digital map, wherein a TME that satisfies the encoding data structure is assigned a minimal cost value; determines a decoded route from the decoded starting TME to the decoded target TME based on the cost value assigned to the TMEs using a cost minimization route determination algorithm; and performs at least one navigation function using the decoded route.

Comprehensive and efficient method to incorporate map features for object detection with LiDAR

According to various embodiments, systems and methods described in the disclosure combine mapped features with point cloud features to improve object detection precision of an autonomous driving vehicle (ADV). The map features and the point cloud features can be extracted from a perception area of the ADV within a particular angle view at each driving cycle based on a position of the ADV. The map features and the point cloud features can be concatenated and provided to a neutral network for object detections.

Apparatus and method for dynamic navigation of a selected geographical zone

There is provided a handheld device for navigating about a selected geographical zone. The handheld navigating device includes a processor circuit with a screen on which an image representative of a geographical map of a selected geographical zone is displayed. The geographical map of the selected geographical zone includes representations corresponding respectively with points of interest having locations and categories. The geographical map is configured so that (a) at least part of the representations corresponding respectively with points of interest are clustered within at least one viewing area, (b) the at least one viewing area is distinguished by a visible pattern having both a selected appearance and a first visual state that do not reveal the locations and the categories of the points of interest. The handheld navigation device includes a geographical position locating subsystem for determining when a selected relationship exists between the user and one or more of the points of interest. Responsive to the selected relationship existing, the processor circuit changes the appearance of at least part of the visible pattern to both reflect that the at least one viewing area has been transformed from the first visual state to a second visual state and the extent to which the user has traversed the physical area.

TURNING PATH GUIDANCE SYSTEM FOR VEHICLES
20220381579 · 2022-12-01 ·

A method of providing turning path guidance for a vehicle includes determining parameters of a turn region of a roadway using a controller of the turning path guidance system. The parameters include lane data and turning angle data. Positions of objects in and around the turn region of the roadway are detected using a sensor system of the vehicle. A map of the turn region is generated based on the lane data, turning angle data and that shows the detected objects using the controller. A turning path for the vehicle for navigating the turn in the turn region that avoids the detected objects is determined using the controller. The map with the turning path is displayed on a display screen in the vehicle.
