System and method for coking detection
An improved system, apparatus and method may be configured for detecting coking in a gas turbine engine. The system may comprise one or more heatable collecting elements configured to be positioned in a fuel supply passage having an inlet and an outlet. The apparatus heatable collecting may be configured to generate heat at or over a fuel system temperature range to induce coking in at least one of the heatable collecting elements. The apparatus may also include a sensor configured to detect an indication of coking on the heatable collecting elements and, in response to the coking indication, communicate a coking condition signal to an engine control.
REDUCED-RESIDUE HARD SURFACE CLEANER AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING FILM/STREAK
Dilutable concentrates useful for hard surface cleaners with improved film/streak performance on high-energy surfaces are disclosed. The concentrates comprise a nonionic alkoxylated surfactant and a polyetheramine. A relatively minor proportion of a polyetheramine can resolve film/streak issues that characterize hard surface cleaners formulated with nonionic surfactants. The efficacy of polyetheramines for improving film/streak performance of hard surface cleaners formulated with nonionic alkoxylated surfactants far exceeds the benefits available from known improvements, such as the use of hydrotropes. Other inventive dilutable concentrates and hard surface cleaners comprise an amine-functional hydrophobe and an auxiliary surfactant. Still other dilutable concentrates or hard surface cleaners comprise a nonionic alkoxylated surfactant and lactic acid. An improved method for measuring film/streak properties of hard surface cleaners is also disclosed.
Device and method for optical monitoring of surfaces of an object
A method for monitoring a surface of an object via at least one optical camera including the steps: (i) image capture of a predetermined surface segment of the object by a camera at a first point in time, (ii) inspection of the predetermined surface segment of the object such that the surface of the object is acted on, and (iii) image capture of the predetermined surface segment of the object by a camera at a second point in time, which takes place after the first point in time, wherein the image data of the predetermined surface segment of the images of step (i) and step (iii) is sent to an evaluation means and then evaluated by this evaluation means and compared to each other, wherein, if a surface flaw detected in the image capture of step (iii), both in terms of its shape or its position on the surface of the object, coincides with a surface flaw detected in the image capture of step (i), then this surface flaw is classified as an actual surface flaw of the object.
Handheld scanner for improved stain detection, system comprising such a handheld scanner, and method for operation thereof
A handheld scanner contains an IR spectrometer with a radiation source and a radiation detector, a control unit, an interface for wireless data communication, and a RGB sensor. The handheld scanner is configured to detect soiling on a laundry item. Additionally, the handheld scanner can be integrated into a system, and used in a method for operating the system.
FOREIGN SUBSTANCE INSPECTION APPARATUS AND FOREIGN SUBSTANCE INSPECTION METHOD
Apparatus inspects the presence/absence of foreign substance on object having inspection region and non-inspection region arranged outside the inspection region. The apparatus includes sensor for illuminating the object and output, as image, result acquired by detecting light from region including the inspection region, and processor for detecting foreign substance based on inspection region image acquired by excluding non-inspection region image, which is image of the non-inspection region, from the image output from the sensor. The non-inspection region image includes first part generated by light from predetermined part of the non-inspection region of the inspected object and second part whose pixel value is continuous from pixel value of the first part and the processor specifies the second part based on fact that the pixel value of the second part is continuous from that of the first part.
OPTICAL LEAK DETECTION OF LIQUID COOLING COMPONENTS WITHIN AN ELECTRONIC SYSTEM
An apparatus is described. The apparatus includes an electronic system having a printed circuit board with electronic components mounted thereon. At least some of the electronic components are coupled to components of a liquid cooling system. The electronic system has a light source and a photosensitive element. The light source is to illuminate an illuminated region of the printed circuit board and/or at least one of the electronic components. The photosensitive element is to detect a change in reflection from the illuminated region in response to the presence of coolant that has leaked from the liquid cooling system within the illuminated region.
GRADING A PISTON WITH DEPOSITS USING MEASUREMENT DATA
A method and system for grading pistons with deposits is disclosed. In an embodiment, a piston with deposits is three dimensionally scanned and compared to a reference model to detect the location and geometry of the deposits. The location and geometry of the deposits are recorded and used to grade the pistons.
TECHNIQUES FOR CONTAMINATION DETECTION IN ADDITIVE FABRICATION AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
According to some aspects, techniques are provided for identifying contamination in additive fabrication devices by measuring light interacting with the contamination using one or more light sensors. Contamination located between a light source and a target of a light source can affect the uniformity and intensity of the light source when incident upon the target. For instance, in an inverse stereolithography device, contamination located between a light source and a liquid photopolymer resin that is to be cured can affect the quality of the fabricated object when the light is scattered or blocked by the contamination. Identifying the presence of contamination between the light source and the liquid photopolymer resin and alerting the user prior to initiating a fabrication process may increase the quality of the resulting fabricated object and improve the user experience by saving time and photocurable liquid.
DETECTION DEVICE FOR DETECTING CONTAMINATION
A detection device for detecting contamination of an optical element. The detection device includes a coupling device, including a first coupling element for coupling light of at least one wavelength from a light source into the optical element, and a second coupling element for coupling light out from the optical element, at least one of the coupling elements including a hologram, and having a detector for acquiring the coupled-out light.
DEVICE DESIGNED FOR DETECTING A SOILING OF AT LEAST ONE TRANSMITTING WINDOW AND/OR ONE RECEIVING WINDOW OF A SENSOR
A device for detecting a soiling of a transparent cover of at least one transmitting window and/or one receiving window of an optical sensor. The device includes at least one hologram structure, an image sensor, and a processing unit. The at least one hologram structure is designed to at least partially deflect light beams incident through the transparent cover, or light beams reflected by an inner side of the transparent cover, in the direction of the image sensor. The image sensor is designed to detect at least one image signal as a function of the deflected light beams, and the processing unit is designed to detect a soiling of the transparent cover as a function of the at least one detected image signal. An optical sensor including the device, and a method for detecting a soiling of the transparent cover, are also described.
