Device and method for monitoring a subject
A device for monitoring the inhalation of airborne pollutant by a subject including a processor configured to determine or receive measurements of the amount of airborne pollutant around the subject and the amount of air inhaled by the subject, and to combine the measurements to determine a measure of the amount of airborne pollutant inhaled by the subject.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PERFORMING INDUSTRIAL PROCESSES ACROSS FACILITIES
A system and method is described herein for performing at least one industrial process at each facility of a plurality of facilities based on an industrial process standard generated by reducing functional, and trend line outlier bias in data of one or more process parameters as measured by one or more sensors. Outliers are removed from the data set through an objective method. Bias is determined based on absolute, relative error, or both. Error values are computed from the data, model coefficients, or trend line estimates. Outlier data records are removed when the error values are greater than or equal to one or more criteria.
Method for evaluating exhaust gas simulation
Evaluation method of exhaust gas simulation capable of simply and appropriately evaluating the validity of the simulation is provided. In analysis data, an analysis amplitude curve is calculated in which a change in the concentration of virtual exhaust gas at the observation point in the converged pipe portion is plotted, and an analysis time interval between the zero point and the reference point in the analysis amplitude curve is plotted. In actual measurement data, an actual amplitude curve is provided in which a change in the specific gas component at an observation point is measured with time, and an actual time interval is provided in which a time interval from a zero point to a reference point in the actual amplitude curve. The analysis data is determined as valid when a difference between the analysis time interval and the actual time interval is within a predetermined correlation range.
DETERMINING A RISK LEVEL POSED BY AN AIR POLLUTANT
A method and system for determining an amount of risk an air pollutant poses to a subject. A risk level is calculated by determining a dosage of the air pollutant, received by the subject over a predetermined period of time, and obtaining historic information about historic dosages of the air pollutant. The risk level is then calculated using the dosage and the historic information to thereby determine a risk level associated with the accumulated deposition of the air pollutant in the portion of the subject's respiratory tract.
METHODS OF USING DILUTION OF A SECOND TYPE TO CALIBRATE ONE OR MORE SENSORS
A system that includes a gas sensor, a fresh air flow controller, a sample flow controller, and a system controller. The fresh air flow controller is configured to deliver fresh air to the gas sensor. The sample flow controller is configured to deliver a sample to the gas sensor. The system controller has a processor connected to memory storing instructions that are executable by the processor. When executed, the instructions cause the processor to determine an intermix ratio of the sample to the fresh air, instruct the fresh air flow controller and the sample flow controller to deliver the fresh air and the sample, respectively, to the gas sensor in accordance with the intermix ratio, and receive a sensor reading from the gas sensor after the fresh air flow controller and the sample flow controller have adjusted the fresh air and the sample, respectively.

STEAM QUALITY PROCESS MONITOR
A steam quality process monitor system and method includes a temperature sensor, a pressure sensor, a processor and memory configured: to determine a steam quality value of an input steam supply based on a reading of the temperature sensor and a reading the pressure sensor; continuously update the steam quality value; and a machine that accepts the input steam supply and is at least partially controlled by the steam quality value. System for Tailoring Dialysis Treatment Based on Sensed Potassium Concentration, Patient Data, and Population Data
A dialysis system is provided that includes a dialysis machine and a potassium sensing device that is configured to measure the concentration of potassium in the patient's blood, in spent dialysate resulting from treating the patient, or in both. The potassium sensing device can be configured to generate a sensed value of the concentration of potassium. A control and computing unit, including a processor and a memory, is configured to receive the sensed value, compare the value with one or more values stored in the memory, and generate a control signal based on the comparison. A potassium infusion circuit uses the control signal to infuse supplemental potassium solution into the treatment dialysate, a replacement fluid, or both. The memory can include stored patient-historical and population data.
METHOD FOR TAILORING DIALYSIS TREATMENT BASED ON SENSED POTASSIUM CONCENTRATION IN BLOOD SERUM OR DIALYSATE
A method of dialysis is provided that includes sensing the concentration of potassium in a patient's blood serum, in used dialysate resulting from treating the patient, or in both. The method involves generating a sensed value of the concentration of potassium, comparing the sensed value with one or more values stored in a memory, and generating a control signal based on the comparison. Supplemental potassium solution is infused into the treatment dialysate, based on the control signal. The comparison can be made to patient-historical data, population data, or both.
INDUSTRIAL GAS DETECTION
Methods, systems, and computer-readable medium to perform operations comprising identifying a first gas level of a gas at a first location at a first time; determining that the first gas level of the gas is above a first threshold; in response to determining that the first gas level of the gas is above the first threshold, identifying a second gas level of the gas at a second location at a second time; determining that the second gas level of the gas is above a second threshold; in response to determining that the second gas level of the gas is above the second threshold, calculating a difference between the second time and the first time; based on the difference, determining that one of the first location and the second location as a source of the gas; and providing an alert based on determining the location of the source of the gas.
