INTOXICATION DETECTION DEVICE
20230304991 · 2023-09-28 ·

An intoxication detection device includes: a gas detection sensor; a gas storage recess which is recessed to accommodate the gas detection sensor therein; and an exhaust fan formed adjacent to the gas storage recess. The intoxication detection device is configured to detect an alcohol component contained in a discharge gas discharged from a skin of the driver without contacting the skin in response to a hand of the driver being brought close to the gas detection sensor. The exhaust fan is operated for a predetermined period of time while a state of the hand blocking the gas storage recess is detected, and during the operation, the exhaust fan is configured to exhaust air or the discharge gas stored in the gas storage recess. The gas detection sensor is set so as to measure the discharge gas stored in the gas storage recess after the exhaust fan stops operating.

Detection and real-time reporting (via wireless to a remote receiver) of the release of harmful or otherwise unwanted chemicals or chemicals of corrosion into the environment and, more particularly, the undesired release of such chemicals from pipelines, supporting energy/electric/heating/cooling/storage/distribution infrastructure, refineries, chemical plants, factories, processing and manufacturing plants and equipment, storage tanks, engines, containers and the like. One or more detection devices can be placed nearby potential areas where leaks occur, or anywhere monitoring for leaks is desired. In some embodiments, the detection devices are integrated into components for monitoring said component for unwanted emissions.

A system for determining a blood alcohol concentration of an individual includes one or more sensors configured to measure a physiological parameter of an individual, and an analysis unit, and a method for monitoring a state of a driver related thereto. A system for determining a blood alcohol concentration of an individual can include one or more sensors, and an analysis unit configured to receive one or more outputs of the one or more sensors. The one or more sensors are configured to measure a physiological parameter of an individual, and the analysis unit is configured to determine a mental state or a physical state of the individual based on the one or more outputs of the one or more sensors.

METHOD AND SYSTEM OF DEPLOYING IGNITION INTERLOCK DEVICE FUNCTIONALITY

A method and a system of deploying an ignition interlock device (IID). The method comprises receiving a time series of breath alcohol content (BrAC) measurements that are unitarily sourced from a pre-identified user, each BrAC measurement of the time series including an alveolar breath component and an interferent breath component; estimating a dissipation rate of alcohol attributable to the pre-identified user in accordance with the time series of BrAC measurements; determining, responsive to estimating the dissipation rate of alcohol, at least a subset of the BrAC measurements as being based on the alveolar breath component but not the interferent breath component; and performing one of triggering and not triggering the IID into a lockout state based on the at least a subset of the BrAC measurements.

An exhaled gas detector includes: a gas detection element configured to measure a specific gas; and an analysis unit configured to analyze a signal output from the gas detection element. The gas detection element measures the specific gas in an exhalation of non-drinking time and generates a first reference signal value. The analysis unit calculates a first threshold value on the basis of the first reference signal value. The gas detection element measures the specific gas in an inspection gas and generates a first measurement signal value. The analysis unit determines that the inspection gas is identified with an exhalation of a person by determining that the first measurement signal value has exceeded the first threshold value.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MONITORING INTOXICATION

A method and system for monitoring a user's intoxication including receiving a set of signals, derived from a set of samples collected from the user at a set of time points; providing a sobriety task to the user proximal to a time point of the set of time points; generating a performance dataset characterizing performance of the sobriety task by the user; receiving a supplementary dataset characterizing a demographic profile of the user and/or a physiological state of the user; determining a set of values of an intoxication metric, derived from the set of signals; generating a predicted temporal profile of the intoxication metric for the user based upon the set of values, the set of time points, and the supplementary dataset; generating an analysis of the user's sobriety based upon the performance dataset and the predicted temporal profile; and providing a notification to the user based upon the analysis.

SOBRIETY MONITORING SYSTEM

A system and method of monitoring sobriety using a hand-held breath testing device that, on receipt of a user's breath, generates a breath test signal comprising substance content data and user identification data, and wirelessly transmits the breath test signal to a breath test signal receiving station.

SAMPLE COLLECTOR FOR RECEIVING A BREATH GAS SAMPLE AND GAS SAMPLE TESTING DEVICE

A sample collector is provided for receiving a breath gas sample and a gas sample testing device is provided with such a sample collector. The sample collector is configured for receiving from a person a breath gas sample to be investigated. The sample collector includes an inflow part (2) with an inflow opening (IO) and an outflow part (13) with an outflow opening (OO). The sample collector provides a flow duct guiding a gas sample from the inflow opening (IO) to the outflow opening (OO). The inflow part (2) is rigidly connected with the outflow part (13). The inflow part (2) and the outflow part (13) together form a housing which gas-tightly surrounds the flow duct. The inflow part (2) tapers in a direction towards the outflow opening (OO). The outflow part (13) tapers in a direction towards the inflow opening (IO).

An apparatus for detecting an alcohol component of a driver's breath includes an inlet that absorbs a driver's exhalation and a passenger's exhalation, respectively, a sensor that detects an alcohol component in the driver's exhalation or the passenger's exhalation, a driver valve controlled to be opened or closed to allow the driver's exhalation to be introduced into the sensor and a passenger valve controlled to be opened or closed to allow the passenger's exhalation to be introduced into the sensor, and a controller that determines whether a passenger is on board a vehicle and controls the driver valve and the passenger valve to be open or closed based on a determination result. Therefore, the driver's breath is distinguished from the passenger's breath and the influence of the passenger is removed to detect the alcohol component in the driver's breath, thereby accurately determining the driver's drinking state.
