Cell-on-chip stretchable platform for mammalian cells with integrated impedance spectroscpy technique
An impedance spectroscopy biosensor is provided that is fabricated on a stretchable substrate. The stretchable substrate is integrated with an impedance biosensor that undergoes cyclic strain without cracking. The biosensor is formed by curing an elastomer precursor while on a pre-tensioned membrane that includes a conductive electrode. The resulting elastomeric material is released from the support after curing which releases the pre-tensioned state to produce the biosensor.
Using Liquid Crystal to Detect Endotoxin in the Presence of One or More Potential Masking Agents
Devices and methods for using changes in the configuration of micrometer sized dispersed liquid crystal domains to detect or quantify analytes in a test sample, including endotoxin lipopolysaccharide (LPS), are disclosed. The test sample includes one or more potential masking agents, such as a non-ionic surfactant, a chelating agent, a divalent cation, a protein, or a nucleic acid, and may also include a buffer. The dispersed liquid crystal microdomains are exposed to the test sample, and any changes in the configuration in the liquid crystal microdomains, such as from the bipolar to radial configuration, are detected. Such changes in configuration signal the presence of analyte in the test sample, and the proportion of liquid crystal microdomains exhibiting the change in configuration is correlated with the quantity of analyte in the test sample.
SAMPLE TESTING APPARATUS, MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF, AND SAMPLE TESTING METHOD
A sample testing apparatus for characterizing at least one target molecule in a testing sample includes a substrate and at least one detection device over the substrate. Each detection device includes a plurality of electrodes, a plurality of data lines, and a probe. Each electrode is configured, upon reaction of the probe with one of the at least one target molecule, to sense an electrical signal, and then to transmit the electrical signal via the one data line. Each data line includes a first film layer and at least one other film layer disposed over the first film layer. The first film layer can be at a substantially same layer, and have a first composition substantially same, as the electrodes. One or more of the at least one other film layer can have a composition having a relatively lower electric resistance than the first composition.
Protein Chip, Kit and Preparation Method thereof for Detecting Abnormal Decarboxy Prothrombin in Serum
A protein chip, kit and preparation method thereof for detecting abnormal decarboxy prothrombin in serum, a substrate carrier of the protein chip is provided with a plurality of detection subareas; wherein each detection subarea is used for detecting a serum sample, and is internally provided with a detection-spot area and a control-spot area, and the detection-spot area has a detection spot formed by spraying a trace amount of a DCP-specific antibody, the control-spot area has a control spot formed by spraying a bovine serum albumin; all the detection spots within one of the detection-spot area have the same material concentration, to form each of the detection spots, a total volume of 3-5 nl of the DCP-specific antibody with a concentration of 3-5 mg/mL is used; each of the detection spots is formed by a non-contact spotter, performing 6-10 spot sprays and spraying 300-500 pL in each spray.
Multistrip cartridge
A test meter for analyzing a body fluid sample applied to a test strip includes an outer housing having an opening, an actuator, and a cartridge positioned adjacent the outer housing. The cartridge further includes a dispensing member connected to the actuator, a plurality of stacked test strips biased toward the dispensing member, and a cartridge outer housing that is adjacent at least a portion of the dispensing member. Each time the actuator is actuated, the dispensing member is rotated to cause movement of one test strip from the plurality of stacked test strips through the opening, and another test strip is biased toward the dispensing member.
Screening Test Paper Reading System
The invention discloses a screening test paper reading system comprising a screening test paper, a test paper carrier, a delivery unit and a reading unit. The screening test paper is provided with a plurality of reaction zones thereon for reacting with a plurality of specific samples, and changing their own color. The test paper carrier is provided with a bearing groove thereon for accommodating the screening test paper and the test paper carrier is provided with a plurality of positioning parts and a gearing part thereon. The delivery unit has a driving device and a detection device. When the detection device detects a plurality of positioning parts on the test paper carrier, the driving device is activated and the test paper carrier is moved by the gearing part so that the reading unit retrieves a color signal on each the reaction zone, whereby the screening test paper reading system can achieve an effect of a fast screening and protection of the screening test paper.
Coagulation test device, system, and method of use
A coagulation test device for measuring clotting time and clot characteristics of a whole blood sample under different hemostatic conditions. Results of the test are used as an aid in management of patients with coagulopathy of unknown etiology in order to help the physician determine appropriate clinical action to arrest bleeding in a patient.
A PORTABLE DEVICE FOR TESTING AGRO-DAIRY BASED SAMPLES
The invention relates to a portable device for testing agro-dairy based samples. The said device comprises an optical detector based on micro-spectroscopy. With the aid of an adaptor, the device is amenable to holding a colorimetric test strip, a concave shaped holder for a solid or semi-solid substance and/or a cuvette. The invention also describes a system of testing agro-dairy based samples comprising the said portable device and also a method of testing agro-dairy based samples using the said system.
Identification of degradative species
A sensor (e.g., an optical sensor) that may be implanted within a living animal (e.g., a human) and may be used to measure an analyte (e.g., glucose or oxygen) in a medium (e.g., interstitial fluid, blood, or intraperitoneal fluid) within the animal. The sensor may include a sensor substrate, electrode or housing, an analyte indicator covering at least a portion of the sensor, and one or more probes that identify degradative species in an environment of the sensor.
