Compositions disclosed herein, and methods of use thereof included those for inhibiting or reducing the incidence of cytokine release syndrome or cytokine storm in a subject undergoing CAR T-cell therapy, wherein the subjects are administered compositions including apoptotic cells or apoptotic cell supernatants. In certain instances compositions and methods of use thereof disclosed herein do not reduce the efficacy of the CAR T-cell cancer therapy. Disclosed herein are also compositions and methods of use thereof for decreasing or inhibiting cytokine production in a subject experiencing cytokine release syndrome or cytokine storm including administration of a composition including apoptotic cells or an apoptotic cell supernatant.

Tools and methods for expression of membrane proteins

The disclosure relates cells or cellular systems that express both a membrane protein and a binding domain directed to the membrane protein. Also, methods are provided that use such cells or cellular systems to produce higher amounts of the membrane proteins. Further, the cells or cellular systems can be used as tools for the structural and functional characterization of membrane proteins, as well as for screening and drug discovery efforts targeting membrane proteins.

Anti-CTLA4 antibodies

The present invention belongs to the fields of tumor therapy and molecular immunology. The present invention relates to an anti-CTLA4 antibody, pharmaceutical composition and use thereof. The anti-CTLA4 antibody of the present invention can specifically bind CTLA4, and can very effectively block the binding of CLTA4 to B7.

Method for detecting castration-resistant prostate cancer and detection reagent

The present invention aims to provide a method for simply and highly accurately detecting castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC), and a reagent that can be used for this method. By measuring the level of GDF15 propeptide present in a sample as a novel detection marker for CRPC, acquisition of castration resistance in a prostate cancer patient during or after endocrine therapy is detected. An antibody that specifically recognizes GDF15 propeptide is included in the CRPC detection reagent.

IN VITRO METHOD FOR OBTAINING CLINICAL DATA IN PATIENTS SUFFERING FROM AN INFLAMMATORY DISEASE

The present invention refers to an in vitro method for obtaining clinical data in patients suffering from an inflammatory disease, preferably, for predicting mortality risk among patients suffering from sepsis or for deciding whether to administer a medical treatment to a patient suffering from an autoinflammatory syndrome.

Chemically patterned microfluidic paper-based analytical device (C-μPAD) for multiplex analyte detection

Disclosed is a device and method for a microfluidic paper-based analytical device (μPAD), for low-cost and user-friendly analytical devices capable of use for disease screening, point-of-care pathogen and biomarker detection, food and water quality testing. A microfluidic paper-based analytical device is further produced by chemical vapor deposition for multiplex heavy metal detection in water. Assay demonstrations proved that the immobilization of functional groups and multiplex heavy metal detection is suitable for real-world applications and established the approach for DNA analysis. The disclosed invention comprises multilayer capability, including the ability for various biomolecules to be immobilized with charge interaction.

Biomarker of Gingivitis Diagnosis and Treatment

Methods of identifying an individual as being a slow gingivitis responder or a high gingivitis responder are disclosed. Some methods are based on IL-1β levels in the individual's GCF at the site of inflammation. Some methods are based on MIF and/or CCL-1 levels in the individual's GCF in healthy tissue distant from the site of inflammation. Some disclosed methods are based on temporal differences in IL-8, IL-6 and/or TNFα levels in the individual's GCF in healthy tissue distant from the site of inflammation during the development of plaque induced inflammation. Methods of treating an individual who has gingivitis and methods of preventing gingivitis are also provided. The treatment and prevention methods comprise determining if individual is a slow gingivitis responder or a high gingivitis responder and applying oral care compositions to the individual's oral cavity.
