SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CALIBRATING A PORTABLE VECHICLE SENSOR
A system and method is provided for calibrating a portable vehicle sensor which is releasably mountable to a vehicle at least at a first and a second position on the vehicle, wherein the first and second positions are offset from each other. The system includes inputting means configured to receive position information relating to the second position when or after the portable vehicle sensor has been moved from the first position to the second position; calibration means configured to calibrate the position of the portable vehicle sensor with respect to the second position by use of the received position information.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANAGING VEHICLE OPERATION
Tools are provided to assisting in the driving of a given vehicle in motion. Various examples are provided related to systems and methods for managing operation of a vehicle. In one example, among others, a system includes one or more transducer arrays installed on a vehicle; a controller; at least one image pickup sensor; a diagnostic engine; and a display. The one or more transducer arrays can detect an object present within a detection area external to the vehicle. The controller can generate an object detection signal in response to detection of an object within a detection area. The diagnostic engine can monitor one or more attributes of a plurality of transducer elements of the one or more transducer arrays. The display can display object detection messages associated with the object detection signal, display images captured by the image pickup sensor, and/or receive user input via a user interface.
Boat trailer water level detection system
Disclosed is a system for monitoring the water level proximate to a vehicle. The system comprises a control unit and at least one sensor in communication with the control unit. The at least one sensor is configured such that the control unit can determine a pitch of a trailer coupled to the vehicle and the height of a surface of water proximate to the trailer. The system includes a display screen displaying a representation of the trailer including the pitch of the trailer, and a representation of the surface of water proximate to the trailer.
Ghost Object Detection
The techniques and systems herein enable ghost object detection. Specifically, a reflection line indicative of a potential reflection surface between first and second moving objects is determined. If enough stationary objects are within an area of the reflection line, it is determined whether one or more of the stationary objects within the area are within a distance of a reflection point. An expected velocity of the second object is then determined and checked against a velocity of the second object. If the expected velocity is near the velocity, it is determined that the second object is a ghost object. By doing so, the system can effectively identify ghost objects in a wide variety of environments, thereby allowing for downstream operations to function as designed.
Driver Assistance Apparatus, Vehicle Having the Same, and Method of Controlling Vehicle
A driver assistance apparatus includes a first radar sensor having a view of a left rear side outside the vehicle and a second radar sensor having a view of a right rear side outside the vehicle. The first radar sensor is configured to output first detecting data and the second radar sensor is configured to output second detecting data. A controller is configured to process the first and second detecting data, to generate a plurality of detection points based on the processing, to generate a first track and a second track based on the plurality of detection points, to identify a track that is normally detected and a track that is erroneously detected among the first track and the second track, and to warn of a collision in a direction located on the normally detected track.
WORK VEHICLE PERIPHERY MONITORING SYSTEM AND WORK VEHICLE PERIPHERY MONITORING METHOD
A work vehicle periphery monitoring system includes: an alarm range storage unit that stores an alarm range, in which an alarm output is required when an object is present, in a detection range of an object detection device that detects an object present in a periphery of a work vehicle; a work mode determination unit that determines a work mode of the work vehicle; an alarm range changing unit that changes the alarm range in the detection range when it is determined that the work mode is a specific work mode; and an alarm control unit that causes an alarm device to output an alarm when an object is present in the alarm range.
SMART CAR
Smart car operations are detailed including capturing a point cloud from a vehicle street view and converting the point cloud to a 3D model; applying a trained neural network to detect street signs, cross walks, obstacles, or bike lanes; and generating driving recommendations based on driver behavior parameters by comparing the driver behavior parameters with one or more drivers with substantially similar behavior parameters.
Smart vehicle
Smart car operations provide information or entertainment content for a person by detecting when a person is alone in a car, adjusting a speech recognizer in the car to focus capturing speech from the person's position in the car; playing content in the car as requested by the person; when the person exits the car and enters a building, transferring the speech recognizer from the car to a building speech recognizer along with a current play state of the content; and resuming playing the content on a device in the house on request without interruption.
