Mobile electronic device, electronic timepiece, determination method, and method of saving positional information
A mobile electronic device including: a movement detection sensor; a positioning module; a processor; and a memory, wherein the processor determines whether the device is moving on the basis of a first tentative determination result obtained by determining whether the device is moving based on a value obtained from the movement detection sensor as well as a second tentative determination result obtained by determining whether the device is moving based on positional information detected by the positioning module, and, upon determining that the device is moving, stores the positional information detected by the positioning module in the memory.
OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE SYSTEM
Methods and systems that comprise generating a list of outdoor experiences based on information from an adventure seeker network, each outdoor experience including global positioning system (GPS) coordinates, selecting, after generating the list of outdoor experiences, an outdoor experience from the list of outdoor experiences without input from an end user, providing a charm after selecting the outdoor experience, the charm including a geolocator including the GPS coordinates corresponding to the outdoor experience, and providing a guide accompanying the charm and including a route associated with the outdoor experience.

Speed sensor calibration systems and methods
Techniques are disclosed for systems and methods to provide speed through medium (STM) sensor calibration for mobile structures. An STM sensor calibration system includes a logic device configured to communicate with an STM sensor, an orientation sensor, and a position sensor for a mobile structure. The logic device determines a time series of estimated STM velocities and a time series of speed over ground (SOG) velocities during a dynamic maneuver of the mobile structure. The logic device determines an STM sensor calibration associated with the STM sensor based, at least in part, on the estimated STM velocities and the SOG velocities.
Swimming activity monitoring
A method of monitoring swimming activity includes: determining at least one of an actual relationship of a mobile device to water or an expected relationship of the mobile device to water; determining ranges to satellites, based on signals received by a satellite positioning system (SPS) receiver of the mobile device, in response to the signals being received by the SPS receiver when the at least one of the actual relationship of the mobile device to water or the expected relationship of the mobile device to water is a desired relationship of the mobile device to water; and determining a location of the mobile device based on the ranges to the satellites.

Golf event management system with scoring and location tracking
A score tracking system may include a tracking module, companion device, and location system. The tracking module may be configured to be carried by a player competing in a golf tournament. The companion device may be configured to receive an input corresponding to a stroke event and that includes a time stamp corresponding to an occurrence of the stroke event. The location system may collect or receive location data, which comprises or is used by the location system to generate a plurality of sets of location coordinates. Each set of location coordinates may correspond to a location of the tracking module at a specified time. The location system may pair the time stamp with a set of the location coordinates corresponding to the location of the tracking module at the occurrence of the stroke event.
Fitness activity monitoring systems and methods
Apparatus, systems, and methods for monitoring the performance of an individual during a fitness activity are disclosed. A method of monitoring the performance of a participant engaged in a fitness activity includes receiving a GPS signal during the fitness activity at a portable fitness device used by the participant; determining participant performance data based on the received GPS signal; at a stationary position beacon, transmitting location data associated with the location of the stationary position beacon; at a mobile participant receiver supported by the participant, receiving the location data from the stationary position beacon; and modifying the participant performance data based on the data received from the stationary position beacon.

Golf rangefinder device with integral magnet mount
A golf rangefinder system comprises a GPS golf rangefinder device and an accessory. The golf rangefinder device comprises a housing defining a forward housing portion with a display screen viewable therein, and a rearward housing portion with a convexity projecting therefrom. A magnet centrally positioned at a distal most portion of the convexity. The accessory includes a clip with a hook-shaped member and a receptacle portion for mating with the convexity of the housing of the golf rangefinder device. A second magnet is positioned in a recess in the receptacle portion. The receptacle portion configured as a concavity and conforming to the convexity of the rangefinder device whereby when the accessory and rangefinder device are in proximity with each other they are magnetically coupled with the convexity positioned in the concavity. The accessory and rangefinder slidably rotatable and movable with respect to one another while still maintaining the magnetic coupling.
