MINIMALLY-INVASIVE LOW STRAIN ANNULOPLASTY RING

A minimally-invasive annuloplasty ring for implant at a mitral annulus. The annuloplasty ring has an inner core member with a C-shaped plan view that generally defines an oval with a major axis and a minor axis, and is symmetric about the minor axis. A posterior portion of the core member bisected by the minor axis has a thicker radial dimension than a pair of free end regions terminating on an anterior side of the core member. The radial thickness smoothly transitions between the posterior portion and the end regions. The inner core member may be covered with a fabric, and is a superelastic metal so that it can be straightened out and delivered through an access tube. The curvatures and thicknesses around the core member are selected so that the strain experienced when straightened does not exceed 7-8%.

ANNULOPLASTY DEVICE

Annuloplasty device for use on a posterior annulus of a mitral valve, which is deployable to the mitral valve by means of a vascular delivery device, such as a catheter, and positionable along the curvature of the annulus, including at least a first and a second branch, each configured to extend along at least a section of the annulus, with a first end and a second end, at least one guiding means for guiding the first and the second branches relative to one another, at least one fixing means for fixing the device to the annulus, and at least one anchor means arranged on each of the first and second branches, whereby the first and the second branches are movable relatively to one another, so that the anchor means engage with the annulus thereby pulling the annulus together when the first and second branches are moved in opposite directions.

IMPLANTABLE DEVICES AND TECHNIQUES FOR ONCOPLASTIC SURGERY

Described herein are devices for placement in surgically created soft tissue spaces, potential spaces, or cavities. The implantable devices generally include a bioabsorbable body having an open framework that facilitates attachment of tissue thereto in a manner that helps avoid post-surgical deformities. Methods for using the implantable devices in oncoplastic surgery are further described.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL THIN-FILM LEAFLET VALVE DEVICE

Examples of the disclosure are directed toward a valve device comprising an opening and a leaflet and methods of operating and manufacturing the valve device. In some embodiments, the leaflet is a three-dimensional thin-film leaflet, and the leaflet comprises a dome portion. In a first configuration, the leaflet of the valve device may occlude the opening of the device. In a second configuration, the leaflet may not occlude the opening, and blood may flow across the opening of the device. The valve device may be collapsible for transportation in a catheter.

HAIR IMPLANTS COMPRISING ENHANCED ANCHORING AND MEDICAL SAFETY FEATURES
20230157809 · 2023-05-25 ·

A hair implant includes: (a) a hair strand anchor including: an anchor body; at least one hair chamber disposed within the anchor body; and at least one tunnel through the anchor body, where the tunnel is free of a hair; and (b) at least one hair strand having a portion thereof retained in the at least one of the hair chamber; wherein the tunnel is configured to support collagen ligature growth after subcutaneous implantation by receiving and retaining collagen ligatures that anchor the hair implant to a hair implant recipient. Also disclosed is a hair implant including an anchor with first and second anchor bodies and at least one bridge connecting the anchor bodies and bridging at least one void between the anchor bodies, wherein the bridge supports and retains collagen ligature growth. One-piece implants are also disclosed, as are anchors, hair restoration and manufacturing methods.

Prosthetic mitral valve and delivery method

A valve prosthesis and methods for implanting the prosthesis are provided. The prosthesis generally includes a self-expanding frame and two or more engagement arms. A valve prosthesis is sutured to the self-expanding frame. Each engagement arm corresponds to a native mitral valve leaflet. At least one engagement arm immobilizes the native leaflets, and holds the native leaflets close to the main frame. The prosthetic mitral valve frame also includes two or more anchor attachment points. Each anchor attachment point is attached to one or more anchors that help attach the valve prosthesis to the heart.

Method for delivery of prosthetic aortic valve

Methods of delivering a prosthetic aortic heart valve are disclosed. The disclosed methods include loading a prosthetic aortic valve in a collapsed configuration into a delivery sheath so that a selected point on the prosthetic valve is rotationally aligned relative to a long axis of the delivery sheath with a selected radiopaque marker on the delivery sheath, while under fluoroscopic imaging, rotating the delivery sheath about its long axis to align a selected radiopaque marker on the delivery sheath with the selected point on the native aortic valve in a fluoroscopic imaging plane, thereby establishing a desired orientation of the prosthetic aortic valve with respect to the native aortic valve in which the prosthetic valve commissures are rotationally aligned with commissures of the native aortic valve, further advancing the delivery sheath along its long axis until the prosthetic aortic valve is disposed inside the native aortic valve, and deploying the prosthetic aortic valve into an implanted state inside the native aortic valve with the prosthetic aortic valve aligned in the desired orientation with respect to the native aortic valve.

PENILE SLEEVE DEVICES AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
20230103972 · 2023-04-06 ·

A penile sleeve device (PSD) that is an implantable subcutaneous penile shaft silicone rubber apparatus which has several functions such as to elongate, thicken, harden, straighten and custom shape a penis. The PSD has an elongated main component of stretchable elastic silicone elastomer into which an inner component of a much higher durometer silicone rubber material is positioned to provide the PSD with some rigidity. The main component is the only portion in contact with the penile shaft since the inner component resides within a pocket of the main component that is formed by two layers therein. The outside surface of these layers may include folds to assist in enhancing penile girth and lengthening. Other variations include collapsible, spoke, telescoping and fused PSD versions. Another version includes an elongated member having a C-shaped distal portion, a transitional portion and a shorter arcuate proximal portion and a pair of longitudinal edges with transversely-oriented V-cuts therein.
