SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF TARGET TISSUES WITHIN THE EARS USING IONTOPHORESIS
Systems and methods for treating target tissues within the ears are disclosed. Systems include a tubular member defining a first lumen configured to deliver a solution containing a therapeutic agent into a space adjacent to a tympanic membrane in an ear canal; a support structure defining a second lumen separate from the first lumen; and an iontophoresis electrode disposed in the second lumen and configured to deliver a current to the solution to apply the therapeutic agent to the tympanic membrane.
Intervertebral cage with anterior fixation and stabilization
A spinal implant. The spinal implant includes a spacer having an upper surface for contacting a superior vertebral body, a lower surface for contacting an inferior vertebral body, a first insertion end portion, and a second end portion opposite the first insertion end portion; a fixation frame coupled to the second end portion of the spacer and including a bridge portion oriented substantially coplanar with the spacer and at least one arm extending from the bridge portion; and at least one fixation element having a first insertion end for penetrating the superior or inferior vertebral bodies and a second end coupled to the at least one arm of the fixation frame.
CARDIAC VALVE ENHANCEMENT APPLIANCES
Apparatus for affecting operation of a cardiac valve of a heart the valve having cardiac valve leaflets, the enhancer comprising: an annular cardiac brace for mounting to an annulus of a cardiac valve and a scaffolding connected to the brace and comprising at least one extendable scaffolding strut; wherein the apparatus is deformable from a delivery configuration to a deployed configuration and in the delivery configuration the top wings are oriented substantially back to back along an axis, and the bottom wings are oriented substantially back to back along the same axis and the at least one extendable scaffolding strut lies along the top or bottom wings, and in the deployed configuration the first top and bottom gripping wings face each other to grip the annulus between them and the second top and bottom gripping wings face each other to grip the annulus between them and the at least one extendable scaffolding arm extends away from the wings into a chamber of the heart on a retrograde side of the valve or an antegrade side of the valve.
Tissue anchor deployment
A tissue anchor delivery device includes a handle, an elongate shaft extending from the handle, a pusher tube disposed at least partially within a lumen of the elongate shaft, a pusher hub coupled to the pusher tube, a needle disposed at least partially within a lumen of the pusher tube, a needle hub coupled to the needle, and an actuator configured to be fixed to the pusher hub and the needle hub. The actuator is further configured to advance the needle hub and the pusher hub a first distance, thereby causing a tip of the needle to protrude from a distal end of the elongate shaft, disengage from the needle hub, and advance the pusher hub a second distance relative to the needle hub, thereby causing a distal end of the pusher tube to advance over the needle and push a coiled suture form off of the needle.
System and method for the simultaneous bilateral treatment of target tissues within the ears using a guide block structure
Systems and methods for treating a patient having a head with a first ear and a second ear, function by mounting a support structure to the head of the patient; aligning the support structure with a target tissue in an ear canal of the first ear; stabilizing the support structure relative to the target tissue by injecting a material into the canal and hardening the material; and actuating a device while the device is supported by the support structure so that the device therapeutically remodels the target tissue of the first ear.
System and method for the simultaneous automated bilateral delivery of pressure equalization tubes
Systems and methods for treating a patient having a head with a first ear and a second ear, function by aligning a first device with a tympanic membrane of the first ear; inputting a command to an input device operatively coupled to the first device to generate a signal; and actuating the first device in response to the signal so as to drive a penetrator of the device through the tympanic membrane.
BIOABSORBABLE POLYMERIC MEDICAL DEVICE
In embodiments there is described a cardiovascular tube-shaped lockable and expandable bioabsorbable scaffold having a low immunogenicity manufactured from a crystallizable bioabsorbable polymer composition or blend.
PROSTHESIS FOR REPAIRING A HERNIA DEFECT
A prosthesis for repairing a hernia defect includes a patch body, a hoisting frame releasably attachable to the patch body, and a tether attached to the hoisting frame with a free end extendable through the thickness of the patch body and accessible from the side of the patch body opposite to where the hoisting frame is releasably attached. The patch body and/or the hoisting frame includes a self-expanding support member. The hoisting frame includes a frame body with an outer frame component and a force translation component for directing pulling forces on the tether across the frame body. The outer frame component has a loop configuration to generally follow the patch periphery with overlapping end portions or a gap between free ends thereof. The force translation component is separable into multiple segments to facilitate withdrawal of the hoisting frame through an opening when released from the patch.
