Image-forming apparatus which controls the rotation of the intermediate transfer belt based on accumulated toner

Toner contains toner base particles and an organosilicon polymer on the surface of the toner base particles. After a toner image is transferred from an intermediate transfer belt to a transfer material, residual toner on the intermediate transfer belt is collected into a belt cleaning device by a blade. A CPU executes supply control of supplying toner from a developing device toward the blade via a photosensitive drum and via the intermediate transfer belt on the basis of a counter accumulated value that correlates with an amount of organosilicon polymer adhering to the blade.

A surficial moving speed of the image bearing member during the application operation is lower than the surficial moving speed of the image bearing member during the image forming operation, and a speed difference between the surficial moving speed of the developing member and the surficial moving speed of the image bearing member during the application operation is larger than that during the image forming operation.

Toner for developing electrostatic charge image

A toner for electrostatic charge image development is a toner for electrostatic charge image development including toner particles containing a binder resin and an external additive, wherein the binder resin contains a crystalline polyester resin and an amorphous polyester resin, the external additive includes Al—Si composite oxide particles, and a Si element content of the Al—Si composite oxide particles is in the range of 50 to 90 mass % and a Si element ratio on surfaces of the Al—Si composite oxide particles is in the range of 3 to 35 at %.

The surface roughness Rz of an outer peripheral surface of an intermediate transfer belt is 0.05 μm or more, and toner contains toner base particles and an organosilicon polymer on the surface of the toner base particles. After residual toner on the intermediate transfer belt is collected by a blade into a belt cleaning device, the blade has a coating layer on its surface facing the intermediate transfer belt, the coating layer containing an organosilicon polymer.

IMAGE-FORMING APPARATUS

Toner contains toner base particles and an organosilicon polymer on the surface of the toner base particles, and silica particles are added to the toner as an external additive. A toner comprising: a toner particle that contains a release agent-containing toner base particle, and an organosilicon polymer on a toner base particle surface, and an external additive A, the organosilicon polymer has a T3 unit structure; the organosilicon polymer forms protruded portions on the toner base particle surface; the number-average value of the protrusion height H is from 30 nm to 300 nm; the ratio of the number-average primary particle diameter R of the external additive A to the number-average value of the protrusion height H is from 1.00 to 4.00; the number-average primary particle diameter R of the external additive A is from 30 nm to 1,200 nm; and, in an image obtained by observing the toner surface with SEM, the area percentage for the bright region area in the image with reference to the total area of the image is from 30.0% to 75.0%.
