Method, electronic device, and computer program product for processing data
A data processing method includes receiving a message related to performance of a storage device, the message including an indicator value regarding the performance in a first time period, and a timestamp associated with the first time period. A status record of the storage device, including the number of received indicator values in a second time period including the first time period, is determined based on the timestamp, wherein the number of the received indicator values is less than a threshold number and can be updated based on the indicator value. The performance in the second time period can be determined based on the indicator value and the received indicator values in response to determining that the updated number of the received indicator values reaches the threshold number. Thus, the performance of the storage device can be quickly and accurately determined, and the consumption of computing resources is reduced.
Enabling access to a partially migrated dataset
A system and method for exposing volumes with underlying read-write mediums to user operations. When a medium is in the process of being migrated to a storage array, a volume which relies on the medium can be exposed to user operations (e.g., snapshots, read and write operations) once the portions of the medium which underlie the volume have been migrated. The volume can be exposed to user operations while one or more other portions of the medium are unfilled and while the medium is in an intermediate read-write state.
Input-output path selection using switch topology information
Switch topology-aware path selection in an information processing system is provided. For example, an apparatus comprises a host device comprising a processor coupled to a memory. The host device is configured to communicate with a storage system over a network with a plurality of switches. The host device is further configured to obtain topology information associated with the plurality of switches in the network, and select a path from the host device to the storage system through one or more of the plurality of switches based at least in part on the obtained topology information.

The program instructions are executable by a computer to cause the computer to perform the foregoing method. A system includes a processor and logic integrated with the processor, executable by the processor, or integrated with and executable by the processor. The logic is configured to perform the foregoing method.
Active-active storage system and address assignment method
A method of labeling logic number units in a storage system results in the use of the same label for related LUNs in different storage arrays. A first storage array includes a first source logical unit number LUN, the second storage array includes a first target LUN, and the first source LUN and the first target LUN are a pair of active-active LUNs. The first storage array sends an assignable-address set of selectable labels for the first source LUN to the address assignment apparatus. The second storage array sends an assignable-address set of selectable labels for the first target LUN to the address assignment apparatus. The address assignment apparatus selects a label that is in both assignable-address sets of the first source LUN and first target LUN, and assign that selected label to both LUNs. Thereafter, the address assignment apparatus sends the selected label to the first storage array and the second storage array for identifying both the first source LUN and the first target LUN.
EFFECTIVE KEY MANAGEMENT FOR DATA ENCYRPTION AND DECRYPTION
The present disclosure generally relates to modifying support security parameters without stalling data transfer. Rather than stalling the data transfer when support security modification requests are received. The disclosure proposes incorporating multiple security partition slots in the device controller. Each slot holds security parameters and an IO counter that holds the current number of pending commands in the device that are going to use that slot. The security partition slots are used as ping-pong buffers allowing the device to modify a second slot while freezing the values on a first slot until completing the previous queued commands that are still under execution. The slots allow support security parameter on-the-fly modifications without stalling any IO traffic. The slots feature is very important for QoS and system performance.
Health Management for Magnetic Storage Media
The present disclosure describes aspects of health management for magnetic storage media. In some aspects, a media health manager determines, with a read channel, read metrics for a sector of magnetic storage media that resides in a zone of magnetic storage media. The media health manager accesses read metrics of the zone and updates the read metrics of the zone based on the read metrics determined for the sector to provide updated read metrics for the zone of magnetic storage media. A health score for the zone of magnetic storage media is then determined with a neural network based on the updated read metrics of the zone of magnetic storage media. By so doing, gradual wear of the magnetic storage media may be predicted using the health score, enabling replacement of a magnetic storage media device before failure to improve reliability or availability of data stored to the device.
Modifying a cloned image of replica data
Modifying a clone image of a dataset, including: generating, based on metadata describing one or more updates to a dataset, a tracking copy of replica data on a target data repository; generating, after receiving an indication to begin accepting modifications to the tracking copy of the replica data, a cloned image of the dataset that is modifiable without modifying the tracking copy of the replica data; and responsive to a storage operation directed to the target data repository, modifying the cloned image of the dataset without modifying the tracking copy of the replica data.
Modifying storage of encoded data slices based on changing storage parameters
A method includes determining a change to storage parameters associated with storage of data objects in a storage network, where a data segment of the data objects is dispersed storage error encoded into a set of encoded data slices based on dispersed storage error encoding parameters, and where the set of encoded data slices is stored in the set of storage units. The method also includes determining a storage modification process for the set of encoded data slices based on the change to the storage parameters. The method also includes executing the storage modification process such that the set of encoded data slices are stored in the storage network in accordance with the changed storage parameters.
Data updating technology
A storage system includes a management node and a plurality of storage nodes forming a redundant array of independent disks (RAID). When the management node determines that not all data in an entire stripe is updated based on a received write request, the management node sends an update data chunk obtained from to-be-written data to a corresponding storage node. The storage node does not directly update, based on the received update data chunk, a data block stored in a storage device of the storage node, but store the update data chunk into a non-volatile memories (NVM) cache of the storage node and send the update data chunk to another storage node for backup. According to the data updating method, write amplification problems caused in a stripe update process can be reduced, thereby improving update performance of the storage system.
