Electronic systems, fault detecting methods thereof, system on chips, and bus systems
An electronic system may include one or more units of processing circuitry configured to implement a main intellectual property (IP), a checker IP, and an error detection circuit. The main IP includes a first data path and a first control signal path. The checker IP includes a second control signal path. The error detection circuit is configured to detect an error of data by performing error correction code (ECC) decoding of output data that is output by the main IP to the error detection circuit through the first data path, and detect an error of a control signal based on a first signal that is output by the main IP to the error detection circuit through the first control signal path, and a second signal that is output by the checker IP to the error detection circuit through the second control signal path.
METHOD TO MINIMIZE HOT/COLD PAGE DETECTION OVERHEAD ON RUNNING WORKLOADS
Methods and apparatus to minimize hot/cold page detection overhead on running workloads. A page meta data structure is populated with meta data associated with memory pages in one or more far memory tier. In conjunction with one or more processes accessing memory pages to perform workloads, the page meta data structure is updated to reflect accesses to the memory pages. The page meta data, which reflects the current state of memory, is used to determine which pages are “hot” pages and which pages are “cold” pages, wherein hot pages are memory pages with relatively higher access frequencies and cold pages are memory pages with relatively lower access frequencies. Variations on the approach including filtering meta data updates on pages in memory regions of interest and applying a filter(s) to trigger meta data updates based on (a) condition(s). A callback function may also be triggered to be executed synchronously with memory page accesses.
NETWORK CREDIT RETURN MECHANISMS
Implementations of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods for reducing design complexity and critical path timing challenges of credit return logic. A wide bus supports simultaneous transmission of multiple flits, one per lane of the wide bus. A source device transmitting flits on a wide bus selects from among multiple credit return options to ensure that only one of the multiple flits being simultaneously transmitted includes a credit return value. In some example embodiments, the receiving device checks only the flit of one lane of the wide bus (e.g., lane 0) for credit return data. In other example embodiments, the receiving device uses a bitwise-OR to combine the credit return data of all received flits in a single cycle.
Virtualized link states of multiple protocol layer package interconnects
Systems, methods, and devices can include a first die comprising a first arbitration and multiplexing logic, a first protocol stack associated with a first interconnect protocol, and a second protocol stack associated with a second interconnect protocol. A second die comprising a second arbitration and multiplexing logic. A multilane link connects the first die to the second die. The second arbitration and multiplexing logic can send a request to the first arbitration and multiplexing logic to change a first virtual link state associated with the first protocol stack. The first arbitration and multiplexing logic can receive, from across the multilane link, the request from the first die indicating a request to change the first virtual link state; determine that the first interconnect protocol is ready to change a physical link state; and change the first virtual link state according to the received request while maintaining a second virtual link state.
Prioritized parallel to serial interface
Techniques to prioritize serially transmitted data are described. The sequence of serial data segments being transmitted across a communication interface is modified such that prioritized segments that may require a higher refresh rate are transmitted more frequently than regular data segments. A prioritization configuration register can be implemented in both the transmitter and the receiver such that both sides are programmed with the altered sequence of transmission. The prioritization configuration stored in the prioritization configuration register can indicate the points in the sequence where the out-of-order transmission occurs, and which data segments are transmitted in them. The transmitter can use this information to serialize the data segments according to the prioritization, and the receiver can re-parallelize the received data as indicated by the altered sequence.
FRAME ALIGNMENT RECOVERY FOR A HIGH-SPEED SIGNALING INTERCONNECT
A system includes a first device and a second device coupled to a link having one or more lanes. The first device is to transmit two or more frames to synchronize the one or more data lanes, where each frame comprises a quantity of bits. The second device is to receive a first set of bits from each data lane corresponding to the quantity of bits in each frame of the two or more frames. The second device is to determine that the first set of bits received from a data lane of the one or more data lanes does not correspond to a frame boundary of the two or more frames. The second device is further to synchronize each data lane of the one or more data lanes with respect to the frame boundary, responsive to determining that the first set of bits does not correspond to the frame boundary.

The system manager includes a system bus datalink having an active node table stored therein. The zone coordinator includes a second system bus datalink and a zone bus datalink. A system bus connects the first system bus datalink to the second system bus datalink. A zone bus connects the zone bus datalink to the one or more zone controllers. The active node table includes a plurality of nodes, each node representing a system bus device communicating on the system bus. The system manager is configured to monitor the active node table for new nodes and to identify a new system bus device communicating on the system bus in response to a determination that the active node table includes a new node.
