Commercials on mobile devices
Among other things, videos and commercials are downloaded to a mobile device for storage on the mobile device and later playout on the mobile device. The downloading includes downloading of metadata associated with the commercials and based on which the mobile device can select commercials for insertion into videos being played back to the user of the mobile device. The commercials to be downloaded are selected based on one or a combination of any two or more of the location of the user, the type of mobile device, and personally-identifiable information about a user of the mobile device.
Systems and methods for providing multiple items to consumers
Systems, apparatus, methods, and non-transitory media for providing multiple items for purchase to consumers are discussed herein. Some embodiments may include a system including circuitry configured to initiate an add-to-order session timer subsequent to the primary purchase of a first item using transaction data of the consumer. The add-to-order session timer may indicate a period of time in which one or more additional items may selected for purchase using the same transaction data as the primary purchase. In some embodiments, the system may be further configured to provide incentives to the consumer for selecting an additional item prior to expiration of the add-to-order session timer.
VEHICLE EXTERIOR MOUNTED DISPLAY SYSTEM
A vehicle exterior mounted display system for attaching to the exterior of a moving vehicle and displaying video content that is geopositionally and temporally relevant. The vehicle exterior mounted display system includes a control unit configured to receive geolocation and time data as well as receive and process signals from a direct-broadcast satellite and a mounted display that is electrically connected to the control unit and mechanically attached to the exterior of the vehicle. The control unit selects a video stream in the signal received from the direct-broadcast satellite based on the geolocation and time data from the global navigation satellite system and causes the selected video stream to be displayed on the mounted display. The vehicle exterior mounted display system may also include an administration server that can tag the video streams in the signal from the direct-broadcast satellite with a targeted geolocation and a targeted time.
PLATFORM FOR LOCATION AND TIME BASED ADVERTISING
Disclosed is a method and system (collectively platform) of geolocation and time based advertising. The platform may include receiving, using a communication interface, a first geolocation from a client device. Further, the platform may include, receiving, using the communication interface, an advertisement content from the client device. Additionally, the platform may include creating, using the processor, an association between the first geolocation and the advertisement content. Further, the platform may include storing, using a storage device, each of the first geolocation, the advertisement content and the association. Furthermore, the platform may include receiving, using the communication interface, a second geolocation from a client device. Additionally, the platform may include comparing, using the processor, the second geolocation with the first geolocation. Further, the platform may include transmitting, using the communication interface, the advertisement content to the client device based on the comparison.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC DEVICE UPDATE WITH LIMITED NETWORK CONNECTIVITY
A method and apparatus for automatically updating a device that has intermittent network connectivity are described in this disclosure. The method includes receiving, at an electronic device from a server, a notification containing information about a promotion for at least one product, determining, based on the received notification, a change in the promotion for the at least one product, updating an action associated with the promotion based on the determined change in the promotion, and executing the updated action associated with the promotion without a network connection to the server.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INFERRING MATCHES AND LOGGING-IN OF ONLINE USERS ACROSS DEVICES
Systems and methods are disclosed for associating a plurality of Internet-enabled devices with a common user profile for targeting Internet content or advertising. One method includes: receiving, from a plurality of Internet-enabled devices, a plurality of requests for electronic content or advertising; extracting, from each of the plurality of requests, a source IP address and a unique identifier associated with the respective Internet-enabled device; identifying each possible pair of devices from which requests were received; calculating for each possible pair of devices a probability that the pair of devices are owned or operated by a common user; and prompting a user to either confirm a characteristic of a prior browsing session or to log-in to an account associated with the common user based on a comparison of the calculated probability to one or more thresholds.
OPTIMIZATION OF REDEEMABLE OFFERS BASED ON USER AVAILABLE CALENDAR DATES
The present disclosure provides an optimization of redeemable offers for a user based on the user's available calendar days. The user selects a target venue via an application on a mobile device and the application retrieves redeemable offers associated with the selected venue including general redeemable offers and redeemable offers that are specific or unique to the user. The application determines a list of calendar days during which the user is available to use redeemable offers and at least one of the redeemable offers is active. An optimized combination of redeemable offers for each calendar day in the list may be presented the user based on the active redeemable offers and user availability. The list of calendar days may also be added to the user's calendar and a single bar code may be generated for applying the redeemable offers.
Systems and methods for generating for display recommendations that are temporally relevant to activities of a user and are contextually relevant to a portion of a media asset that the user is consuming
Systems and methods are provided herein for displaying recommendations that are temporally relevant to activities of a user and are contextually relevant to a portion of viewed media. This may be accomplished by a media guidance application identifying activities a user has planned, as well as respective times for which each of the plurality of activities was planned to be performed by the user. The media guidance application may filter the activities by determining which of the first plurality of activities has a corresponding respective time that is within a threshold period of time. The media guidance application may then identify characteristics of each filtered activity and of a media asset that the user is consuming at the present moment, and may compute whether the characteristics match. If the characteristics match, the media guidance application may generate for display a recommendation relating to the respective activity.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING OFFERS USING A MOBILE DEVICE
A wireless device is enabled to provide offers. The wireless device receives card data for a financial account card and stores the card data in a memory associated with the wireless device. Responsive to using the card data in a transaction at a first merchant location, the wireless device receives transaction line-item data from a computing system associated with the first merchant location. The wireless device determines merchant information for a second merchant location and determines an offer associated with the second merchant location based on the line-item data and the merchant information for the second merchant. The wireless device presents the offer when the wireless device is near the second merchant location.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR RECOMMENDING MEDIA ASSETS BASED ON THE GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION AT WHICH THE MEDIA ASSETS ARE FREQUENTLY CONSUMED
Methods and systems are provided herein for recommending a media asset based on a geographic location at which that media asset was frequently consumed. For example, the system may monitor a location, such as New York City or Times Square, to determine popular media assets watched there, such as The Avengers, and when another user visits New York City, the system may then notify the user that the movie, such as The Avengers, is associated with New York City. The system stores the geographic locations associated with the media asset in the database based on the consumption of the media asset so that other users may be notified which media assets are associated with each geographic location.
