RF communication for secure access
An Ultra-Wideband (UWB) wireless communication device includes a scanning circuit, an ordering circuit, and a selecting circuit. The scanning circuit is configured for scanning at least a channel supported by the communication device for detecting a plurality of patterns of a UWB frame format. The ordering circuit is configured for ordering the plurality of patterns in a patterns list according to a predefined quality parameter. The selecting circuit is configured for selecting at least one of the patterns in the list to start an Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless communications.
SMART CARD WITH FINGERPRINT SENSING SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
A smart card with a fingerprint sensing system, includes a controller and a fingerprint sensing device. When the fingerprint sensing device senses a fingerprint to generate a fingerprint frame data, the controller enters a sleep mode, and when the controller reads the fingerprint frame data, the fingerprint sensing device stops sensing the fingerprint. Since operations of sensing the fingerprint and reading the fingerprint frame data do not occur at the same time, the high current condition can be avoided so as to decrease power consumption.
Universal locking device and firearm locking device
A locking device includes a locking mechanism configured to lock and unlock different types of objects upon a corresponding command from a separate remote device such as a smartphone controlled by a user and running an application program. A motion sensor senses any physical motion of the locking device, and an alarm provides a visual and/or audible alarm upon sensed motion or tampering of the locking device. A location tracker (GPS) continuously senses a location of the locking device. A communication module is in two-way (cellular) signal communication with the remote device, which transmits signals to the communication module indicative of a user command to lock and unlock the locking mechanism. The communication module transmits signals to the remote device indicative of a status of various parameters of the locking device. A processor is configured for signal processing of the various signals within the locking device.
Card-type vehicle smart key and control method therefor
A vehicle card-type smart key that it includes a tact switch; and a touch input unit for sensing a touch from a user; and a control unit which performs an action related to the button input only when both a button input from said tact switch and a touch input from the touch input unit exist.
Vehicular electronic key system and method of controlling electronic key
A vehicular electronic key system includes an electronic key and a wireless communication device. The electronic key includes a first communication unit, a second communication unit, and a first controller that switches an operating state between an ON state where a function of the first communication unit is operated, and an OFF state where the function of the first communication unit is at least partially stopped, based on a result of communication of the second communication unit with the wireless communication device. The wireless communication device includes a third communication unit, and a second controller. The first controller switches the operating state when the first controller detects that the electronic key has been moved by a predetermined distance or longer outside a vehicle based on at least a result of communication of a predetermined signal by the second communication unit.
Pattern detection for automotive access
The disclosure relates to pattern detection unit and associated method. The unit comprises a shift register configured to over-sample a multi-bit input signal such that each bit of the input signal is represented by a plurality of samples in the shift register; and a correlator configured to compare a target pattern with two or more sample-sets, each sample-set comprising a corresponding sample from each of the plurality of samples of each bit, and classify each compared sample-set as one of: an exact match; an inexact match; or a non-match to the target pattern in order to determine whether or not the input signal matches the target pattern.
Protocols for remote vehicle access systems
A wireless communications system for an automotive vehicle includes a vehicle control unit and a fob. The vehicle control unit includes a vehicle transceiver. The fob includes a fob transceiver and a fob control unit and is configured to transmit and receive communications through at least two channels. The fob control unit is programmed to transmit a preamble through the first of the at least two channels, transmit a preamble through the second of the at least two channels during a null space following the preamble transmitted through the first channel, transmit a data packet payload through the first channel when a null space following the preamble in the second channel is detected, and transmit a data packet payload through the second channel when a null space following the preamble in the second channel is detected. Communications are interleaved between the first and second channels.

Remote control device and vehicle including the same
A remote control device for a vehicle includes a vibration sensor sensing vibration of the remote control device; a communication unit performing communication with the vehicle; and a controller changing an operation mode of the remote control device based on a first signal received from the vehicle via the communication unit.
