METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PREDICTING DRIVING CONDITIONS
A method and system for providing a predicted driving condition to an electronic device associated with a current vehicle having a current vehicle characteristic. The method is executable on a server and comprises receiving an indication of the current vehicle approaching a road segment and the current vehicle characteristic; identifying a preceding vehicle which has a time of travel along the road segment before a current time, a time difference between the preceding vehicle time of travel and the current time being within a predetermined range, the preceding vehicle having a preceding vehicle characteristic; determining the predicted driving condition for the road segment, the predicted driving condition being based on the current vehicle characteristic and the preceding vehicle characteristic; and providing to the electronic device before the current vehicle reaches the road segment, the predicted driving condition for the current vehicle on the road segment.
Binaural navigation cues
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for providing binaural navigational cures. In one aspect, a method includes presenting audio media in a non-directional playback state that presents the audible media in an original format, iteratively determining a navigational heading relative to a current navigational course, the navigational heading indicative of a direction to face to proceed along a navigational route, and for each iteration, determining whether a change is required to the current navigational course based on the navigational heading. For each determination that a change is not required to the current navigational course, presenting the audio media in the non-directional playback state, and for each determination that a change is required to the current navigational course, changing the non-directional playback state to a directional playback state that presents the audible media in a modified format that is directional from the navigational heading.
Selectively generating directions based on device location
A computer-implemented method includes initializing a navigation application on a device, determining a current location of the device, and receiving a destination. The method also includes determining whether a known geographical feature is located on a travel path to the destination. The known geographical feature may be derived from a user profile. The method, in response to determining that a known geographical feature is not located on the travel path to the destination, includes outputting graphical and audio directions to the destination. In response to determining that a known geographical feature is located on the travel path to the destination, a sub-method includes determining whether the device is currently in a known area and outputting graphical and audio directions to the known geographical feature in response to determining that the device is not currently in the known area.

A guidance information processing device includes a first specifying unit that refers to a first storage unit storing position information of individual facilities, and specifies one or more of the facilities present on a route based on a designation of a user, and a second specifying unit that refers to a second storage unit storing, for each facility, information indicating a sensation capable of being experienced regarding the facility, and specifies a candidate for a sensation to be experienced by the user regarding the one or more of the facilities specified by the first specifying unit at a time of performing guidance on the route, thereby contributing to generation of guidance information suitable for the user.
VEHICLE POSITION GUIDANCE SYSTEM AND VEHICLE POSITION GUIDANCE METHOD
A vehicle position guidance system includes a terminal position measurement section, a vehicle position measurement section, a calculator, and a guide. The terminal position measurement section measures a position of a terminal carried by a user. The vehicle position measurement section measures a position of a parked vehicle. The calculator obtains a route using position information related to the terminal and position information related to the parked vehicle. The guide assists the user in entering the vehicle by selectively using a first guidance and a second guidance depending on whether a distance is long or short between the terminal and the parked vehicle on the route. The first guidance provides guidance to the position of the parked vehicle using the terminal. The second guidance provides guidance to the position of the parked vehicle through a notification using a vehicle on-board device of the parked vehicle.
METHOD, APPARATUS, DEVICE FOR PLAYING NAVIGATION AUDIOS
A method, an apparatus, and a device for playing navigation audios are provided. The method includes: determining navigation audios to be broadcast in a navigation route and broadcast locations; and broadcasting a corresponding navigation audio at the broadcast location, and selecting non-navigation audios to be played in unoccupied durations between broadcast locations according to unoccupied durations.
Method and apparatus for adapting navigation notifications based on compliance information
An approach is provided for adapting navigation notifications based on a level of compliance of users to the notifications. An adaptation platform determines user action data following a presentation of at least one navigation notification at at least one device. The adaptation platform also processes the user action data to determine user compliance information with the at least one navigation notification. One or more presentation parameters for the presentation of the at least one navigation notification, content information for the at least one navigation information, or a combination thereof are then caused to be adapted based, at least in part, on the compliance information.

A system may include a display and a processor. The processor may be configured to: output a view of an airport moving map (AMM), the AMM depicting a location of an aircraft on an airport surface; receive aircraft state data and airport surface data, wherein the airport surface data includes information of the airport surface, wherein the aircraft state data includes a current position of the aircraft; generate taxi routing guidance content, wherein the taxi route data includes information of a taxi route for the aircraft on the airport surface, wherein the taxi routing guidance content includes graphical and/or audio content to be presented to a flight crew to guide the aircraft along the taxi route, wherein the taxi routing guidance content further includes an approaching runway annunciation, wherein the approaching runway annunciation indicates that the aircraft is approaching a runway; and output the taxi routing guidance content.
Interactive Vehicle Navigation Coaching System
A dynamic navigation coach system is programmed to monitor and assist drivers while keeping them engaged en route to the destination. The system may provide driver navigation assistance and training that monitors user navigational skills, driving habits, and environmental factors, and provides dynamically adjustable tools to provide varying levels of navigation assistance in a game play format. The system may selectively provide navigational directions or corrections to the driver when the driver deviates from a scheduled travel route, instead of providing instructions at every driving event.

An interaction device include a processor. The processor being configured to acquire an alertness level of an occupant of a vehicle, request an utterance from the occupant in a case in which the acquired alertness level is below a threshold value, identify a rest point at which the vehicle can stop, measure a cycle spanning from initiation of an interaction until the alertness level falls below the threshold value again, and repeatedly request an utterance from the occupant at a regular interval that is shorter than the measured cycle during a time period from notifying the occupant that the rest point has been set as a destination of the vehicle to the vehicle arriving at the destination.
