UNCONTROLLED INTERSECTION DETECTION AND WARNING SYSTEM
Systems and methods are directed to detecting uncontrolled intersections and providing warnings. In response to a navigation request from a user device, the system generates a navigation route using integrated map data, whereby the integrated map data includes indications of uncontrolled intersections that comprise intersections where at least some of the traffic is not required to stop. The system causes presentation of the navigation route in a user interface on the user device and monitors navigation of a vehicle associated with the user device along the navigation route. If the system detects that the vehicle is approaching an uncontrolled intersection based on the monitoring and the integrated map data, the system causes presentation of a warning indicating the uncontrolled intersection in the user interface.
VEHICLE GUIDANCE
A system includes a first vehicle computer programmed to monitor first vehicle sensor data as the first vehicle traverses a route; identify a location of interest along the route based on a topographic feature of the location of interest determined from the first vehicle sensor data; and store a selected subset of the first vehicle sensor data for the location of interest in a set of collected data about the route. The system further includes a second computer programmed to receive the collected data about the route; and based on the collected data about the route, generate a set of guidance data including one or more recommended operating parameters for the location of interest, whereby the recommending operating parameters are available to a third computer for a second vehicle.
VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING INFORMATION THROUGH PORTABLE EXTERNAL DEVICES
A vehicle control device includes a memory, a network interface, and a processor that connects to a portable external device through a communication channel, identifies a position of an occupant carrying or wearing the portable external device, determines whether the occupant is a driver or a passenger based on the position of the occupant, and transmits sound data for providing a sound service suitable for the occupant to the portable external device according to whether the occupant is the driver or the passenger.
Systems and method for using visual landmarks in initial navigation
A route from a current location of a portable device to a destination is determined, where the route includes a sequence of directed sections. Navigation instructions to guide a user of the portable device along the route to the destination are generated. To this end, candidate navigation landmarks perceptible within a 360-degree range of the current location of the portable device are identified, a navigation landmark disposed in a direction substantially opposite to the direction of the first one in the sequence of directed sections is selected from among the candidate navigation landmarks, and an initial instruction in the navigation instructions is generated and provided via a user interface of the portable device. The initial instruction references the selected navigation landmark.
Simplified audio navigation instructions
In some implementations, a mobile device can be configured to provide simplified audio navigation instructions. The simplified audio navigation instructions can provide a reduced set of audio navigation instructions so that the audio instructions are only presented to the user when the user wishes to or needs to hear the instructions. A user can enable the simplified audio navigation instructions. The simplified audio navigation instructions can be enabled automatically. The simplified audio navigation instructions can be configured with rules for when to present audio navigation instructions. For example, the rules can specify that audio navigation instructions are to be provided for complex road segments, a user defined portion of a route, or specified road types, among other criteria. The mobile device can be configured with exceptions to the rules such that audio navigation instructions can be presented when the user has, for example, deviated from a defined route.
Vehicle dispatch system for autonomous driving vehicle and autonomous driving vehicle
A vehicle dispatch system is configured to execute user type identification processing for identifying a user type indicating whether the user is a visually handicapped person or a healthy person, and when the user is identified to be a visually handicapped person, execute voice guidance processing for performing voice guidance for a visually handicapped person. The autonomous driving vehicle includes an image recognition unit configured to perform image recognition of the user. The voice guidance processing includes guidance information generation processing for generating guidance information including a moving direction for allowing the user to approach the autonomous driving vehicle based on an image recognition result of the image recognition unit, and guidance information transfer processing for transferring the guidance information to the user by voice.
Method and system for scene-aware interaction
A navigation system for providing driving instructions to a driver of a vehicle traveling on a route is provided. The driving instructions are generated by executing a multimodal fusion method that comprises extracting features from sensor measurements, annotating the features with directions for the vehicle to follow the route with respect to objects sensed by the sensors, and encoding the annotated features with a multimodal attention neural network to produce encodings. The encodings are transformed into a common latent space, and the transformed encodings are fused using an attention mechanism producing an encoded representation of the scene. The method further comprises decoding the encoded representation with a sentence generation neural network to generate a driving instruction and submitting the driving instruction to an output device.
INFORMATION PROVIDING DEVICE, INFORMATION PROVIDING METHOD, AND INFORMATION PROVIDING PROGRAM
The objective of the present invention is to provide an information providing device and the like capable of simplifying entry into a road to be entered, even using guidance by voice or the like.
This information providing device is provided with: a route searching unit 1 which acquires both road data 23a and intersection data 23b; and a guidance voice generating unit 2 which, on the basis of the acquired road data 23a and the like, outputs, while moving along a wider road, a simplified guidance voice for moving to a narrower road, in such a way that it is simple to enter the narrower road from the wider road.
