Venues map application and system providing a venue directory
In some implementations, a computing device can provide a map application providing a representation of a physical structure of venues (e.g., shopping centers, airports) identified by the application. In addition, the application can provide a unique venue directory, providing an easy and visual mechanism to search for categories of points of interest (e.g., clothes, food, restrooms) or specific items within the venue. Search results can be presented on a map of a floor within the venue as well as a listing providing all search results located within the venue.
USER-SPECIFIC LANDMARKS FOR NAVIGATION SYSTEMS
A server identifies landmarks associated with users as the users take part in trips or otherwise interact with a navigation system. The server causes presentation of the identified landmarks to the users during future trips, such as part of navigational directions along a route to a particular destination, or on a visible portion of a map user interface. Presentation of the user-specific landmarks allows the users with more context and thus the ability to better navigate.
Navigation Directions Preview
To present a navigation directions preview, a server device receives a request for navigation directions from a starting location to a destination location and generates a set of navigation directions in response to the request. The set of navigation directions includes a set of route segments for traversing from the starting location to the destination location. The server device selects a subset of the route segments based on characteristics of each route segment in the set of route segments. For each selected route segment, the server device provides a preview of the route segment to be displayed on a client device. The preview of the route segment includes panoramic street level imagery depicting the route segment.
HIGH LEVEL INSTRUCTION FOR NAVIGATIONAL ROUTING SYSTEMS
A navigation system (NAV system) may provide a variety of information and may be integrated with a variety of on-board vehicle systems or features. The NAV system may provide various route guidance options between a present location and a desired destination. The route guidance options may be based on a high level of user preferences. The high level of user preferences may be selected by the user in advance or at the time of requesting route guidance. The NAV system may provide various route options based on key geographical features along the route. The NAV system may provide various route options based on personal points of interest. The NAV system may provide various route options based on a user's route habits or frequency.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATIC GENERATION OF CONTEXT-BASED GUIDANCE INFORMATION FROM BEHAVIOR AND CONTEXT-BASED MACHINE LEARNING MODELS
A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for generating guidance information based on a cognitive load of a user and presenting the guidance information in a manner dependent upon the cognitive load. In context of a method, the method receives a plurality of user data associated with a user and determines relationship data for the plurality of user data utilizing one or more machine learning models. The method also determines a cognitive load of the user based on the relationship data and generates contextual guidance information configured to be presented to the user in a manner dependent upon the cognitive load. The method also causes presentation of the contextual guidance information to the user.
LANDMARK DETERMINATION
According to embodiments of the present invention, a method, a device and a computer program product for landmark determination are proposed. In the method, a plurality of objects are identified from a plurality of video clips. The plurality of video clips are respectively captured by a plurality of cameras monitoring a geographical area. At least one of uniqueness levels and expected appearance probabilities of each of the plurality of objects in the plurality of video clips are determined. At least one of the plurality of objects is determined to be a landmark of the geographical area based on the at least one of the uniqueness levels and the expected appearance probabilities. In this way, the landmark can be determined accurately and dynamically.
DEVICE FOR TEACHING A DRIVER TO DRIVE IN A FUEL EFFICIENT MANNER
A device is provided for teaching a driver of a vehicle in real-time to operate the vehicle in a fuel efficient manner based on feedback from a plurality on on-board sensors on the vehicle. The device calculates a score indicating how fuel efficient the driver is.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING OBJECTS AND NAVIGATION
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which a mobile device determines a current position and direction; detects objects within an area including the current position; collects first data regarding the objects; buffers the first data; and transmits the first data to a remote system responsive to the mobile device reaching a boundary of the area. The method also comprises obtaining a map of the area from the remote device; the map includes information based on second data previously collected regarding objects in the area, the second data includes a position indicator and a direction indicator for each of the second objects indexed by the current position, and the remote device aggregates the first data and the second data to generate an updated map of the area. Navigation instructions are generated based on the current position and the map, Other embodiments are disclosed.
Input/Output Functions Related to a Portable Device In An Automotive Environment
To facilitate various functionality related to interactions between a portable device and a vehicle head unit, systems and methods (i) efficiently provide audio navigation instructions to a vehicle head unit; (ii) enable data exchange between a portable device which is not in direct communication with a vehicle head unit and the vehicle head unit; and (iii) provide visual output in response to user gestures in an automotive environment.
Method and apparatus for providing personalized routing based on user routing behaviors
An approach is provided for determining one or more previous behaviors made by at least one user traveling at least one calculated route. The one or more previous behaviors include, at least in part, one or more deviations from, one or more matches on, or a combination thereof for the at least one calculated route. The approach involves determining one or more predictor values for one or more predictors associated with the one or more previous behaviors. The approach also involves causing, at least in part, a creation of at least one predictive model based, at least in part, on the one or more predictor values. The at least one predictive model is used to predict one or more potential behaviors by the at least one user while traveling the at least one calculated route, at least one other route, or a combination thereof.
