Techniques for modifying and presenting instructions for traversing a route include obtaining original instructions and receiving input to modify the instructions. The instructions may be modified and/or annotated based on the input received to provide more intuitive and helpful instructions for traversing a route. The modified instructions may be presented to a user of a computing device as the computing device traverses the route. The modifications and/or annotations to the original instructions may be presented as the computing device traverses the route based at least in part on the location and/or speed of the computing device on the route.

Therefore, the mobile electronic device can provide more appropriate information to the user in accordance with the movement state of the user.

A navigation system may obtain a current location of the mobile terminal in a navigation session. The navigation system may determine a remaining navigation route based on the current location and a navigation end-point. The navigation system may obtain respective locations of key points in the remaining navigation route. The navigation system may obtain a map representative of a geographic area comprising the respective locations of the key points of the navigation route. The navigation system may display, in a navigation interface, the map. The navigation system may display the remaining navigation route and the key points on the displayed map.

A computer-implemented method includes initializing a navigation application on a device, determining a current location of the device, and receiving a destination. The method also includes determining whether a known geographical feature is located on a travel path to the destination. The known geographical feature may be derived from a user profile. The method, in response to determining that a known geographical feature is not located on the travel path to the destination, includes outputting graphical and audio directions to the destination. In response to determining that a known geographical feature is located on the travel path to the destination, a sub-method includes determining whether the device is currently in a known area and outputting graphical and audio directions to the known geographical feature in response to determining that the device is not currently in the known area.

An adaptation platform determines user action data following a presentation of at least one navigation notification at at least one device. The adaptation platform also processes the user action data to determine user compliance information with the at least one navigation notification. One or more presentation parameters for the presentation of the at least one navigation notification, content information for the at least one navigation information, or a combination thereof are then caused to be adapted based, at least in part, on the compliance information.
