An apparatus of providing guidance information provides guidance information about the result of recognizing a crosswalk around a vehicle as information for inducing safe driving. The guidance information about a crosswalk is differently provided in accordance with a surrounding situation concerned with forward traveling of the vehicle.

DRIVING USING VIRTUAL REALITY (VR) EMULATING REAL DRIVING OF A ROUTE
20230194293 · 2023-06-22 · ·

Some aspects of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for detecting objects along a driving route, storing information associated with the detected objects, and using the stored objects and information to assist the driver of a motor vehicle (and/or for automated driving of the motor vehicle) when the motor vehicle is driven along the same driving area. For example, some aspects of this disclosure relate to a method including capturing, using a first sensor, information associated with a route driven by a motor vehicle. The method can further include determining, using a processor and the captured information, whether an object associated with the route and data associated with the object are stored in a memory. In response to determining that the object is stored in the memory, the method can further include displaying the object in a virtual reality (VR) mode using the stored data associated with the object.

Generating turn-by-turn direction previews

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to generating turn-by-turn direction previews. In one aspect, one or more computing devices, may receive a request for a turn-by-turn direction preview. The one or more computing devices may generate a set of turn-by-turn directions based on a series of road segments connecting a first geographic location and a second geographic location. Each direction in the set of turn-by-turn directions may be associated with a corresponding waypoint. The one or more computing devices then identify a set of images corresponding the series of road segments between two adjacent waypoints of the set of turn-by-turn directions, and determine a subset of the set of images to include in the turn-by-turn direction preview. Subsequently, the one or more computing devices may generate the turn-by-turn direction preview based on at least in part on the determined subset of the set of images.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING A MONITORING SERVICE FOR A PEDESTRIAN

The disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods for providing a monitoring service for a pedestrian. In an example method, a request for activation of a monitoring service can be received. The request can include a present location and a destination. Upon receiving the request for activation of the monitoring service, a travel route can be determined from the present location to the destination. As a traveler travels along the travel route, each of one or more vehicles along the travel route may be activated. Each of the one or more vehicles can be configured to stream at least one video feed when the traveler is proximate to the each of the one or more vehicles. The monitoring service can be terminated when the traveler has reached the destination.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GENERATING NAVIGATION DATA
20230184558 · 2023-06-15 ·

A system for generating navigation data is provided. The system, for example, may obtain route data associated with a region. The route data may include at least one route for navigation in the region. Further, the system may determine mask data associated with the at least one route or a portion thereof. The mask data may include data about whether a mask is worn or not on the at least one route or the portion thereof. Furthermore, the system may generate the navigation data for navigation in the region based on the determined mask data.

VEHICLE NAVIGATION METHOD AND APPARATUS
20170343374 · 2017-11-30 ·

The present application discloses a vehicle navigation method and apparatus. In some embodiments, the method includes: collecting a road condition image; deciding whether a lane currently traveled by a vehicle is a navigation lane; determining a lane object in the road condition image on which a guiding track object is to be superimposed and displayed, the guiding track object adapted to instruct the vehicle to travel along the lane currently traveled by the vehicle, or to instruct the vehicle to turn to the navigation lane; and superimposing and displaying the guiding track object on the determined lane object. According to the current vehicle position and the navigation route, by superimposing and displaying the guiding track object on the lane traveled by the vehicle, the driver is intuitively guided to drive the vehicle in the lane where the vehicle should be driven, thus navigating the vehicle more accurately.

SYSTEMS TO DYNAMICALLY GUIDE A USER TO AN AUTONOMOUS-DRIVING VEHICLE PICK-UP LOCATION BY AUGMENTED-REALITY WALKING DIRECTIONS
20170343375 · 2017-11-30 ·

A system, implemented at a mobile or portable user device having a display to present augmented-reality walking directions from a present user location to an autonomous-vehicle pickup location. The system includes an augmented-reality walking-directions module that, when executed, dynamically generates or obtains walking-direction artifacts for presentation, by a portable user device display, with real-time camera images to show a recommended walking path from the present user location toward the autonomous-vehicle pickup location, yielding real-time augmented-reality walking directions changing as the user moves with a portable user device. The system also includes an augmented-reality directions-presentation module that, when executed, initiates displaying the real-time augmented-reality walking directions from the present user location toward the vehicle pickup location. The system may also include or be in communication with an autonomous-vehicle-service application to allow the user to reserve an autonomous-vehicle ride, to be met by the user at the pickup location.

Explicit Signage Visibility Cues in Driving Navigation
20230175854 · 2023-06-08 ·

To provide navigation instructions with indications of visibility of visual aids during navigation, a computing device receives a request from a user for navigation directions from a starting location to a destination location, and obtains a set of navigation directions for traversing from the starting location to the destination location along a route in response to the request. For at least one maneuver, the computing device identifies a visual aid for assisting the user in identifying a location corresponding to the maneuver, determines an amount of visibility for the visual aid, and adjusts a navigation instruction in the set of navigation directions corresponding to the maneuver to include a description of the amount of visibility for the visual aid. The computing device provides the set of navigation directions including the adjusted navigation instruction for presentation to the user.

Navigation Directions Preview
20230168101 · 2023-06-01 ·

To present a navigation directions preview, a server device receives a request for navigation directions from a starting location to a destination location and generates a set of navigation directions in response to the request. The set of navigation directions includes a set of route segments for traversing from the starting location to the destination location. The server device selects a subset of the route segments based on characteristics of each route segment in the set of route segments. For each selected route segment, the server device provides a preview of the route segment to be displayed on a client device. The preview of the route segment includes panoramic street level imagery depicting the route segment.

DEVICE FOR PROVIDING ROUTE AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING ROUTE THEREFOR

A processor of a device for providing a route, provided in a server, according to an embodiment of the present invention sets a segment that serves as a standard for generating an optimal route in lane units, generates an optimal route in lane units on the basis of the set segment, and varies the length of the segment on the basis of satisfying a preset condition.
