INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD
[Object] An object of the present technology is to provide an information processing apparatus, an information processing system, and an information processing method capable of allowing a user to approach a destination intuitively.
[Solving Means] An information processing apparatus according to the present technology includes a position-coordinate acquisition part, a direction acquisition part, a direction calculation part, and a haptic-feedback determining part. The position-coordinate acquisition part acquires a position coordinate of the information processing apparatus. The direction acquisition part acquires an apparatus direction that the information processing apparatus faces. The direction calculation part calculates a target direction being a direction of a target with respect to the information processing apparatus from a position coordinate of the target and the position coordinate of the information processing apparatus. The haptic-feedback determining part determines a haptic feedback to be presented to a user on the basis of an angle formed by the apparatus direction and the target direction.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING NAVIGATION SERVICE OF DISABLED PERSON BASED ON IMAGE ANALYSIS
Provided are a system and a method for providing navigation service for disabled people. The present invention crawls information necessary for free movement for a wheelchair on a road or a sidewalk, generates a database in which relevant road information is reflected, and provides navigation service based on the generated database, thereby enabling a disabled person to safely move to a destination.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ROBOT, ROBOT, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
A method includes: detecting, through a sensor, a location and a movement direction of the user and an object around the user; specifying the type and the location of the detected object; if the object is a dangerous object and is located in the movement direction of the user, setting a relative position where the robot is to be located relative to the user to a lead position ahead of the user and in a direction different from the movement direction; driving at least one pair of legs or wheels of the robot to cause the robot to move to the lead position; and driving the at least one pair of legs or wheels to cause the robot to accompany the user in the lead position and induce a change in the movement direction of the user.
NAVIGATIONAL FEEDBACK DEVICE FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED
A wearable device worn by a user is disclosed which includes a plurality of input device interfaces each configured to receive input from a sensor coupled to a user, a controller configured to generate a two-dimensional map of the user's three-dimensional space based on the received inputs, and a plurality of haptic feedback devices disposed on the wearable device, wherein the controller is configured to selectively activate each of the plurality of haptic feedback devices to signal the user's position in the three-dimensional space based on the generated two-dimensional map as the user moves in the three-dimensional space.
Apparatus and Method for Hybrid Navigation of a Pedestrian Tour
There is provided an apparatus for navigating a pedestrian tour including a processor circuit, a memory and a screen. The pedestrian tour includes a starting point, a first pedestrian tour zone and a second pedestrian tour zone, all of which are connected by a series of connecting paths. First and second suggested travel constraints, corresponding respectively with the first and second pedestrian tour zones, are stored in the memory. Responsive to determining that the pedestrian's actual travel within the first pedestrian tour zone will vary from the first suggested travel constraint, the processor circuit dynamically revises the second suggested travel constraint to permit the pedestrian user to execute the pedestrian tour in accordance with a preset target travel constraint for the pedestrian tour. There is also provided a hybrid navigation method in which the processor circuit is used to operatively associate at least one of the pedestrian tour zones with a first guidance system and at least one of the connecting paths with a second guidance system. The first guidance system provides the pedestrian user with minimal or no navigation information when the pedestrian user is using the at least one pedestrian tour zone and the second guidance system provides the pedestrian with detailed geographic map instructions when the pedestrian user is using one of the connecting paths.
Methods and systems for providing feedback based on information received from an aerial vehicle
Described herein is a control system that facilitates assistance mode(s). In particular, the control system may determine a particular assistance mode associated with an account. This particular assistance mode may specify (i) operations for an aerial vehicle to carry out in order to obtain sensor data providing environment information corresponding to a location associated with the account and (ii) feedback processes to provide feedback, via a feedback system associated with the account, that corresponds to respective environment information. The control system may transmit to the aerial vehicle an indication of the particular operations corresponding to the particular assistance mode and may then receive environment information for the location associated with the account. Based on the received environment information, the control system may apply the specified feedback processes to initiate feedback in accordance with the particular assistance mode via the associated feedback system.
System and method for providing directions haptically
Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage devices for providing directions haptically such that sight and hearing can continue unimpeded. In one exemplary embodiment, a wearable device (such as earphones, ear rings, gloves, glasses, or other wearable objects) configured as disclosed herein receives directions to an intended destination for a user, the directions comprising a movement action and a distance to the movement action. The wearable device has multiple haptic output units and generates, through one of those units, a haptic output based on the directions. This allows the user to receive the directions through touch rather than looking at their mobile device or from audio.
