A vehicle control device includes: a first detection unit that detects a traveling state of a host vehicle; a merging detection unit that detects that the host vehicle approaches within a predetermined area of a merging point when the host vehicle travels on the merging road toward the merging point at which a main road joins with the merging road; a second detection unit that detects a speed of a lane flow by another vehicle that travels on the main road toward the merging point; a position detection unit that obtains a position of a pre-merging point as a virtual point on the main road reaching the merging point when the host vehicle reaches the merging point; and a display control unit that controls a display device to display the position of the host vehicle and the pre-merging point.

Methods and systems of providing lane information using a navigation apparatus

A method is disclosed for providing information using a navigation apparatus to guide a user in a vehicle along a determined route to a destination through a road network. The method comprises generating data indicative of a navigation map for display on a display device of a navigation apparatus showing the roads in a portion of the road network. The method further comprises generating data indicative of a first route line for display on the navigation map showing the one or more roads to be taken from a current position of the navigation apparatus to follow the determined route through the road network, and then providing the data indicative of the navigation map and the first route line to the display device for display thereon. The method further comprises generating, upon determining, while the vehicle is traveling along the determined route, that the current position of the navigation apparatus on a multi-lane roadway is approaching an associated road junction, data indicative of a lane guidance panel based on a position of the road junction in the navigation map that, when displayed on the display device, covers a portion of the navigation map. The method further comprises generating data indicative of a second route line for display at least on the lane guidance panel indicating one or more lanes in which the user should be travelling so as to follow the determined route, and then providing the data indicative of the lane guidance panel and the second route line to the display device for display thereon.

The server is configured to receive the wheel position information from each vehicle, to match the wheel position information with a detailed map to generate a moving trajectory of each vehicle, to analyze the generated moving trajectory of each vehicle to select an optimum moving trajectory, to generate virtual lane information based on the selected optimum moving trajectory, and to transmit the generated virtual lane information to at least one of the vehicles to enable the at least one vehicle to correct a driving position based on the virtual lane information.

In one embodiment, a perception module of an autonomous driving vehicle (ADV) detects a temporary traffic control device (TTCD) located within a first lane of a multi-lane roadway. The first lane is added to a black list of one or more lanes that the ADV is not permitted to drive within. A rerouting request is made to a planning module of the ADV to route the ADV to a second lane in the multi-lane roadway. The ADV navigates to the second lane and continues navigating along the requested rerouting. The ADV monitors for additional TTCDs. One or more boundary lines of the first lane can be marked “do not cross” so that the ADV does not navigate, even partially, back into the first lane. If there are no more TTCDs in the first lane for a predetermined distance ahead of the ADV, the first lane is deleted from the black list.

Exemplary implementations may: generate, by a set of sensors, output signals conveying information pertaining to the vehicle; determine a current location of the vehicle; determine a current direction of travel of the vehicle; detect a current lane being used by the vehicle from the multiple traffic lanes of the particular roadway at the current location in the current direction of travel; obtain lane-specific information regarding the multiple traffic lanes at or near the current location of the vehicle; obtain a goal for providing lane-specific recommendations; determine a lane-specific recommendation for the vehicle; and provide the lane-specific recommendation to the vehicle operator.
