NAVIGATING WITH MOBILE DEVICE AND HEAD-MOUNTED DEVICE
A mobile device may present a map, the map including a location indication, the location indication indicating a location of a destination. The mobile device may determine that a user has looked away from the mobile device. The mobile device may, in response to determining that the user has looked away from the mobile device, send a direction instruction to a head-mounted device, the direction instruction instructing the head-mounted device to present a direction indication, the direction indication indicating a direction for the user to travel to arrive at the destination, the head-mounted device being mounted on a head of the user.
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER METADATA TO SUPPORT SECOND SCREEN
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, a method, and a system for receiving display capabilities of a secondary vehicular display, determining metadata to display based on the display capabilities of the secondary vehicular display, formatting the displayable metadata, and transmitting the displayable metadata to the secondary vehicular display. The metadata is determined by receiving a data set from producer, comparing the data set against the display capabilities, and formatting the resultant data from the comparing as metadata.
PERSONALIZATION OF MEDIA STREAMS
In some implementations, a user device can personalize a media stream by converting notifications into audio speech data and presenting the audio speech data at locations within the media stream that do not interrupt the enjoyment of the media stream by the user. In some implementations, the user device can receive notifications from various communication services, applications installed on the user device, and/or other sources, determine information describing the notifications, and present the information to the user using the audio speech data. In some implementations, the user device can generate personalized notifications based on the media stream and/or media items selected by the user. The user device can generate personalized notifications based on the user's context (e.g., environment, location, activity, etc.). The personalized notifications can then be presented to the user using audio speech data at appropriate locations in the media stream.
LOCATION-BASED FEATURES FOR COMMUTE ASSISTANT
Some embodiments provide a commute application that provides a first presentation of several stops along a route. The commute application also receives a selection of a stop from the several stops along the route. The commute application further provides a second presentation for displaying several different routes that traverse through the selected stop.
Navigation application with several navigation modes
A method for providing navigation instructions on a device is described. As the device traverses a navigated route according to a first mode of transportation, the method displays a first turn-by-turn navigation presentation defined for the first mode. Based on data gathered by the device, the method determines that the device is navigating the route according to a second mode of transportation. The method automatically displays a second, different turn-by-turn navigation presentation defined for the second mode.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
A method is disclosed for generating routes in an area covered by an electronic map. The map comprises a plurality of segments representing navigable segments of a navigable network in the area covered by the electronic map. A main route from an origin to a destination is generated through the network in a manner which favours segments which are segments of a predefined sub-network. When the user commences travel, the method involves identifying a first decision point along the main route being travelled that is a decision point of the sub-network. An alternative route is generated between the decision point and the destination, in a method involving favouring segments of the sub-network, and in which the outgoing segment of the main route being travelled to the first decision point is blocked.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE, NAVIGATION METHOD, AND NAVIGATION CODE
In an aspect, an electronic device includes: a display unit configured to display a guide route to a destination; an operation part configured to receive an input of the destination; and a controller configured to simultaneously display a plurality of moving routes to the destination using a plurality of moving means on the display unit when the destination is input via the operation part. Specifically, the controller searches a route from a departure place to a destination for each of a plurality of predetermined moving means by a function provided from a route search unit of a navigation code. Then, the controller simultaneously displays the searched plurality of routes on the display unit by a function provided from a display controller of the navigation code.
Autonomous vehicle rider drop-off to destination experience
An example method for assisting autonomous vehicle (AV) riders reach their destination after drop-off can include navigating the AV to a drop-off location associated with a user in the AV, receiving sensor data from sensors associated with the AV, determining, based on the sensor data, an orientation of the user in the AV and a location of the AV relative to a final destination of the user, generating a recommendation for how to exit the AV at the drop-off location based on the orientation of the user in the AV and the location of the AV relative to the final destination of the user, and providing the recommendation via a display, a speaker, a light-emitting device, and/or a client device, the recommendation including a visual indication of an exit direction or an AV door to use to exit the AV, audio instructions for exiting the AV, and/or visual exit instructions.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SELECTIVELY ENABLING A USER DEVICE ON THE MOVE TO UTILIZE DIGITAL CONTENT ASSOCIATED WITH ENTITIES AHEAD
The present disclosure relates to a method performed by a content selection system and a user device including at least a portion of the content selection system for selectively enabling a user device on the move to utilize digital content associated with one or more entities located ahead of the user device. The system determines a current position and travel direction of the user device and derives foresight conditions input including time availability indicating parameter(s). The system defines a geographical limiting zone extending in front of the user device, based on the position, travel direction, and a first time availability indicating parameter of the foresight conditions input. The system compares the limiting zone to a first stored geographical location of at least a first entity, and enables content associated with the first entity to be utilized by the user device, when the first location is within the limiting zone.
RECORDED ROUTE REPLAY ON AN AUGMENTED REALITY HEAD-UP DISPLAY APPLICATION
A method for replaying route data with annotation for re-display comprises: recording a recorded-route-replay by a first user of a first automobile vehicle and saving the recorded-route-replay to a website; electing to trigger playback of the recorded-route-replay by a second user of a second automobile vehicle and entering a predetermined key word by the second user to trigger playback; contacting a website and downloading from the website GPS tagged pictures for a predetermined next trip travel distance of the second automobile vehicle; and retrieving one of the GPS tagged pictures when a GPS trigger location is reached during the trip of the second automobile vehicle and displaying the one of the GPS tagged pictures on an image screen of a head-up display of second automobile vehicle.
