Suggesting a route based on desired amount of driver interaction
Aspects of the disclosure relate generally to generating and providing route options for an autonomous vehicle. For example, a user may identify a destination, and in response the vehicle's computer may provide routing options to the user. The routing options may be based on typical navigating considerations such as the total travel time, travel distance, fuel economy, etc. Each routing option may include not only an estimated total time, but also information regarding whether and which portions of the route may be maneuvered under the control of the vehicle alone (fully autonomous), a combination of the vehicle and the driver (semiautonomous), or the driver alone. The time of the longest stretch of driving associated with the autonomous mode as well as map information indicating portions of the routes associated with the type of maneuvering control may also be provided.
Map presentation device
Road information of surroundings of an own vehicle is kept as latest version as possible, and road information of distant areas are updated efficiently. A map providing device according to the present invention searches for an update target portion included in a planned travel route, and also searches for an update target portion with an end point of the planned travel route being a starting point.
Predictive annotation of relevant road information based on vehicle location and identity
The present disclosure is directed to dynamically analyzing data and conditions associated with the movement of a vehicle. A processor may evaluate vehicle location and speed information when identifying an amount of navigation data to send to a computer at a vehicle. The amount of information sent to the computer may vary based on the vehicle speed, a type of road that the vehicle is able to drive along, or may vary based on other attributes. The information sent to the computer may also relate to an area that the vehicle is anticipated to move through in a given time frame. Mapping data sent to the vehicle computer may be associated with a larger area when a vehicle is moving at a faster speed and may be associated with a smaller area when the vehicle is moving at a slower speed.
Dynamic map system and method
The present disclosure relates to a computer system, configured to receive two or more instances of a first route object comprising a geotemporal attribute comprising geospatial and temporal data to define an instance of the first route object; map the two or more instances of the first route object on to digital map data to define respective first route vertices in the digital map; and receive user input defining an interval and applying the defined interval intermediate chronologically adjacent respective first route vertices to define first waypoints between the respective first route vertices.
Plotting method for three-dimensional time-space diagram showing regional green-wave coordinated control effect
The invention discloses a plotting method for a three-dimensional time-space diagram showing a regional green-wave coordinated control effect. The plotting method includes the following steps: establishing a coordinate system of the three-dimensional time-space diagram; determining a specific position coordinate of each intersection in the coordinate system of the three-dimensional time-space diagram; generating a time prism of a signal timing plan of each intersection; determining a green-wave bandwidth of each arterial road; and generating a driving trajectory between the intersections, and making a green-wave band of each arterial road, and completing plotting.
Display unit
In a display unit of the present invention, an instrument frame body (speedometer frame body, power meter frame body) are changed to a map frame body in a process that the road image is stepwise reduced and display to the map image by switching from a road display state to a map display state. Further, the map frame body is changed to the instrument frame body in a process that the map image is stepwise enlarged and displayed to the road image by switching from the map display state to the road display state.
Sharing a Navigation Session to Minimize Driver Distraction
A first computing device may implement a method for sharing a navigation session to minimize driver distraction. The method includes requesting access to a shared navigation session synchronized with a navigation session at a second computing device indicative of a navigation route, and the navigation session includes route data. In response to receiving access to the shared navigation session, the first computing device may receive synchronized route data indicative of the navigation route at the second computing device. The method further comprises obtaining one or more first navigation instructions corresponding to the synchronized route data including at least one navigation instruction that augments or is output in a different manner than one or more second navigation instructions output at the second computing device, and outputting the one or more first navigation instructions.
AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE, CONTROL SYSTEM FOR REMOTELY CONTROLLING THE SAME, AND METHOD THEREO
An autonomous vehicle may include an autonomous driving control apparatus having a processor that transmits vehicle data and a vehicle path for remote control of the autonomous vehicle to a control system when the remote control of the autonomous vehicle is required, and performs following and control based on adjusted path information when receiving the adjusted path information from the control system.
Venues map application and system
In some implementations, a computing device can provide a map application providing a representation of a physical structure of venues (e.g., shopping centers, airports) identified by the application. In addition, the application can provide an inside view that includes the physical layout and geometry of the venue's structure as well as the location, structure and layout of points of interest (e.g., stores, security check points, restrooms) within the venue. The views become more detailed as the user zooms into the venue to reveal points of interest and to give the user a feel for traversing the venue.
Information display device, control method, and storage medium
An information display device includes: a display section that displays a view of a situation ahead of a vehicle and guidance information; a learning section that classifies and learns targets appearing on a travel route and visible through the display section as: a first target necessary to be visible, a second target necessary to be visible under the setting condition, or a third target not necessary to be visible, and a display control section configured to: prohibit display of the guidance information in a prohibited region with the first target, permit display of the guidance information in a permitted region with the third target, and either prohibit display of the guidance information in a conditional region with the second target and the setting condition is met, or permit display of the guidance information in the conditional region with the second target and the setting condition is not met.
