System and method for leakage mitigation

A leakage mitigation system includes a leakage detection device having a canister configured to: (i) contain a first reactant and a second reactant and, (ii) based on a volume of liquid leaked from a tank, allow the first reactant and the second reactant to react with each other to produce a gas. A shut-off valve coupled to an inlet pipe of the tank is configured to actuate between an open condition and a closed condition. Further, a conduit extending between the leakage detection device and the shut-off valve allows flow of the gas from the leak detection device to the shut off valve. In order to mitigate the leakage of water, the shut-off valve is actuated between the open condition and the closed condition based on the pressure exerted thereon by the flow of the gas.

LEAK DETECTION DEVICE

The invention relates to a leak detection device comprising: a portable leak detection bell-like member comprising a sealing joint and configured to define a detection chamber between the main body and the test zone, the detection bell-like member further comprising a carrying handle which is provided with a control member which can be manually activated to produce a control signal, a gas suction circuit which is intended to connect the detection chamber to a vacuum pump, the gas suction circuit being provided with a controlled valve which can be switched into an open state to connect the detection chamber to the vacuum pump and a closed state to isolate the detection chamber from the vacuum pump, and a control unit which is configured to switch the controlled valve in response to the control signal.

A system and method of checking sealing of a brake caliper housing. The method may include determining a level of moisture in a cavity of a brake caliper housing with a sensor. In another configuration, the method may determine whether a detected pressure inside the cavity remains stable for a predetermined period of time.

EVAP II—Leak verification and detection for vehicle fuel containment systems

An off-board vehicle fuel handling and containment system leak tester that uses CO2 gas in order to find the location of the leak site. An external source of CO2 gas is used to pressurize the fuel containment system to a pressure greater than the surrounding pressure. An electronic detector capable of detecting CO2 gas is used to scan at least some of the containment system's external surfaces for the presence of the escaping CO2 gas. When the electronic detector senses the CO2 gas an alert system is activated. Once the leak site area is known a leak finding composition of matter is applied to the leak site area in order to identify the exact point of leakage.

Adaptor for a capless fuel tank filler pipe

Methods and systems are provided for an adaptor for a capless filler pipe of a fuel tank for leak detection testing of a vehicle. In one example, the system may include a threaded hollow shaft having a top end able to receive a nozzle of a leak detection machine, the hollow shaft inserted through a mouth of a filler pipe of a fuel tank, a gasket arranged on the hollow shaft, and an end cylinder having an elastic piece on the hollow shaft configured to create an airtight seal with the fuel mouth. In this way, the adaptor may restrict gas flow through a defined flow path through the adaptor, and not through any other flow paths during leak detection testing.
