Inflation garment having a portable controller for treatment of DVT
An inflation garment for the treatment of DVT is operated by a portable, battery powered air pump and controller detachably mounted on the inflation garment. The controller is formed with hook-fastening devices on the bottom surface of the controller that is detachably engagable with the material on the outer surface of the inflation garment. To mount the controller, the inflation garment is folded to expose the air inlet and outlet ports on the inflation garment to facilitate the operative attachment of the controller ports, then the inflation garment is unfolded and pressed against the bottom surface of the controller to engage the hook fasteners with the material of the inflation garment. A supplemental support is provided to wrap at least partially around the inflation garment to enhance the support of the inflation garment on the patient's limb without slipping.
Foot spa
Disclosed is a disposable for use with a surface that defines a basin for receiving liquid. The disposable has a pair of surfaces spaced apart from one another by a tubular sidewall. One of the pair of surfaces is positioned, in use, against the basin-defining surface. In use, gas issues through the sidewall in the form of bubbles. The disposable is useful in association with foot spas and the like. A mechanism for puncturing a liner is also disclosed.
INTERMITTENT PNEUMATIC COMPRESSION DEVICE
An intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) device includes a user interface allowing selection among different categories of circulation insufficiency. After one of the categories is selected the possible range for the treatment parameters are limited. The disclosed device includes an intermittent pneumatic compression device that has lockable, adjustable treatment parameters. A lockout mechanism activates after selection of the parameter values, preventing the patient from changing the selected values. The lockout mechanism requires an access device to make further changes to the values. An inflatable cuff for the foot includes both a zipper and hook-and-loop fasteners to maintain tension during compression and wherein the zipper can be opened to remove said cuff while preserving the hook-and-loop fastener relationship so that when the cuff is placed back into position and the zipper closed, the fixed adjustable dimension of the combination will be restored.
Nose Slit Cloth
A face rest cover designed to cover an opening in a treatment table. The face rest cover has a T-shaped slit that has a line-shaped longitudinal slit segment that opens out on an edge of the face rest cover and a transverse slit segment that runs perpendicular to and connects to the longitudinal slit segment. The face rest cover is treated with fragrances. The face rest cover an be used universally, i.e. it can be used as hygienic protection for all kinds of treatment tables. In particular, the treatment table can be used for massages, wellness treatments or also in the fields of physiotherapy and osteopathy.
Device, system and method for compression treatment of a body part
A device for compressive treatment of a body part includes a compression member, adapted to at least partly encircle the body part, and an actuation unit, arranged to tighten the compression member to provide a compressive force to the body part. Methods are provided for its therapeutic, cosmetic and non-therapeutic use and operation.
DRESSING WITH TARGETED LOW-INTENSITY VIBRATION
Vibrational dressing systems, vibrational dressing devices, and methods for placing the same are disclosed. Vibrational dressing systems and vibrational dressing devices include a first portion and a second portion. The first portion may be contoured to a target treatment location of a subject. The second portion may be coupled to the first portion and the second portion may include a plurality of vibrational devices and a control system. Each vibrational device may vibrate the target treatment location and each vibrational device may be positioned within the second portion to correspond with a particular location on a body of the subject within the target treatment location when the first portion is coupled to the body of the subject. The control system may selectively activate one or more of the plurality of vibrational devices.
Compression Device Especially for Preventing Deep Vein Thrombosis
A compression device particularly suited for DVT prophylaxis includes a disposable wrap and a re-usable controller removably mounted on the wrap to apply a tensioning force to the wrap when it is encircling the limb of a patient. The wrap includes an RF chip with a unique identifier and the controller includes an RF sensor and processor to authenticate the wrap before commencing a compression cycle. A kiosk is provided for storing a plurality of wraps for use by patients and a plurality of controllers to be used with any of the wraps. The processor of each controller can control an electric motor in the controller to tighten and loosen the wrap according to a compression protocol between a pre-tension compression force and maximum compression force. The amount of movement of the wrap changes as the patient's physiology changes while maintaining the pre-tension and maximum compression forces.

The processor of each controller can control an electric motor in the controller to tighten and loosen the wrap according to a three-stage DVT prophylaxis protocol that produces an optimum blood flow velocity. An accelerometer and software/firmware in the controller can also measure and summarize patient activity while wearing the device.
