GNSS FORECAST IMPACTING RECEIVER STARTUP

Disclosed is reducing starting time for a GNSS receiver that has an imprecise initial starting location by requesting starting assistance from a CDN that caches predictive data including first data indicated predicted LOS visibility from the receiver to individual satellites, wherein the request includes the imprecise initial staring location, receiving, from the CDN, data that includes a first block of the predictive data for the imprecise initial staring location and further adjoining second blocks of predictive data for areas surrounding the imprecise staring location, determining, by the GNSS receiver, commonly available satellites that have visibility from locations in both the first block and the second block, and calculating a first starting position using weighted values for the satellites, the commonly available satellites having higher weighted value than satellites without visibility in both locations, whereby position uncertainty of the first starting position is reduced from the imprecise initial starting location.

System and method for remotely locating objects (SEEKR)

This problem has been addressed before, but the way of doing so is flawed and incomplete. Only larger objects can be tracked, neglecting items such as glasses, TV remotes, and headphones. Some also solely use Bluetooth tracking, which can be quick and precise, but is unreliable. Items lost far away from people with Bluetooth active their phone cannot be found using this method. This is not an option for most small, easily misplaced items. Various embodiments of the device (in one case using the name SeekR) allow for tracking of all these difficult-to-keep-track-of items. The device's small size allows it to attach to all of these items that existing solutions cannot, e.g., on the frame of glasses, e.g., the bridge, temple and/or temple tips. The device also incorporates assisted global positioning system (AGPS), which is much more reliable than tracking devices that solely use Bluetooth technology, and, in many cases, using AGPS results in identifying the location of a lost item faster than using Bluetooth (or other short distance wireless communication systems). The AGPS system used in various embodiments combines trilateration and global positioning system (GPS) technology to determine a more accurate device location in less time than using GPS systems alone.

SEAMLESSLY TRACKING A WATER VESSEL USING SATELLITE AND MOBILE DATA
20220373694 · 2022-11-24 ·

A system and a method are disclosed for enabling seamlessly tracking a location of a water vessel by supplementing satellite data with mobile data location based on proximity of a water vessel to shore. The system receives a Global Positioning System (GPS) location of the water vessel, the GPS location of the water vessel based on using the satellite data of the water vessel. The system determines that the GPS location is within a threshold distance of a boundary. Responsive to determining that the GPS location is within the threshold distance of the boundary, the system initiates monitoring for a mobile signal emanating from a trajectory path of the water vessel. The system detects, during the monitoring, the mobile signal, the tracking the location of the water vessel based on mobile data of the mobile signal. The system provides the tracked location to a monitoring device.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CROSS-REFERENCE NAVIGATION USING LOW LATENCY COMMUNICATIONS

Disclosed are methods, systems, and non-transitory computer-readable medium for vehicle navigation processing. For instance, the method may include scanning for one or more terminals within a predetermined vicinity of the vehicle via a low latency communication network and receiving positional data of the one or more terminals via the low latency communication network. The method may further include receiving directional data of the one or more terminals relative to the vehicle, determining a first location of the vehicle relative to the one or more terminals based on the directional data, and determining a second location of the vehicle relative to the environment based on the positional data and the first location.

Devices, methods, and apparatuses for mobile device acquisition assistance

Methods, apparatuses and/or articles of manufacture, which may be employed in a mobile device and/or in a location server, enable acquisition assistance at the mobile device. In at least one implementation, which is not intended to limit claimed subject matter, acquisition assistance may include expected Doppler frequency shift and expected code phase in the case of a particular Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) satellite vehicle, as well as a search window for each of these, and a confidence value. The confidence value may indicate the likelihood of detecting signals from the satellite vehicle at the current expected location of the mobile device and within the given search windows and may enable one or more of faster location estimation, reduced battery consumption, and detection of weaker satellite signals.

System and method for position determination using low earth orbit satellites

A system and method for position determination using low earth orbit satellites. A mobile terminal affixed to an asset initiates a collection of global positioning system satellite measurements (e.g., code phase) based on a hardware trigger generated by a low earth orbit satellite modem. Timing information reflective of the time of the hardware trigger pulse is transmitted to an operations center along with the global positioning system satellite measurements to enable the operations center to determine a position of the mobile terminal.
