The console is configured to provide contextual information to passengers. The console includes a monitor assembly that has a display screen and a notification region. The notification region includes one or more displayable icons and at least one receptacle for a communication device of a passenger. The notification region has a first section comprising an outer cover layer with a first series of masking, diffuser and illuminating layers to selectively illuminate the one or more displayable icons. The notification region has a second section comprising the outer cover layer with a second series of masking, diffuser and illuminating layers to selectively illuminate the at least one receptacle for the communication device.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE WITH GLASS PLATE
An electronic device is disclosed, including: a glass plate including a first region and a second region extending from the first region to form a curved surface, wherein at least one predetermined first pattern is formed within at least a portion of the first region, a light emitter disposed adjacent to the second region of the glass plate and configured to emit light from the second region along the first region, a molded pattern layer disposed on the glass plate, the molded pattern layer including second patterns oriented as to face the glass plate, and a support film layer disposed on the molded pattern layer and configured to guide a path of the emitted light from the light emitter to an interior of the molded pattern layer.
LIGHTING ASSEMBLY WITH DIFFERING LIGHT OUTPUT DISTRIBUTION AND/OR SPECTRUM OUTPUT
A lighting assembly includes a light guide having opposed major surfaces, a light input edge extending between the major surfaces and including first and second input regions, a first light guide region associated with the first input region and including first light extracting elements, and a second light guide region associated with the second input region and including second light extracting elements. A first light source segment is arranged to input light through the first input region and into the first light guide region, and a second light source segment is arranged to input light through the second input region and into the second light guide region. The first light source segment and the second light source segment are independently controllable to control an illumination state of the solid-state light emitters
NEON-FREE ILLUMINATED SIGNAGE
A system and method for presenting a visual message by illumination. The system includes an LED light source and a transparent sheet. The transparent sheet is a transmission medium that includes a modified surface that refracts light in designated areas. The LED source illuminates the transparent sheet so that the LED illumination of the sheet achieves a visual effect of a neon filled glass tube lighting. The illumination system, however, is neon-free. The modified surface includes a disruption pattern or a printed ink layer, or the sheet includes two modified surfaces, one modified with a disruption pattern and another one modified with a printed ink layer. The LED light source includes multiple LED emitters on a circuit board. The LED light source projects light through the sheet in a direction that is parallel to a surface plane of the sheet.
Film-based lightguide with adhered component between fold region and extraction region
A device comprises a film with an adhesive layer on a first side of a core layer, a major sheet area of the film bounded by edges of the film with a light extracting region positioned to receive and extract light propagating by total internal reflection within the core layer out of the major sheet area, and a minor sheet between the major sheet area and an array of strips. The strips extend from the minor sheet area of the film, and each strip of the array of strips is folded within a fold region and stacked. The device further comprises a component extending a width of the array of strips where they extend from the minor sheet area, wherein the adhesive layer adheres the component to the film between fold region and the light extracting region. In some embodiments, the adhesive layer is a cladding layer.
Display device for a motor vehicle
A display device includes a translucent windscreen, particularly the windscreen of a motor vehicle, a narrow-band light source that emits light into the windscreen via an edge thereof, and a periodic structure formed in the windscreen that bends the light from the light source toward the eye of a driver.
LIGHT GUIDE PLATE, DISPLAY DEVICE AND GAME MACHINE
A light guide plate, produced from material transparent to visible light, includes a plurality of prisms provided on one surface (a diffusion surface) thereof in a predetermined pattern. The plurality of prisms include a reflection surface that reflects visible light emitted from a light source and entering the light guide plate from an input surface toward another surface (an output surface). Each prism in the plurality of prisms is distributed so that the reflection surfaces of two prisms separated by a predetermined pitch are oriented in the same direction, and the reflections surfaces of two prisms that are closer than the predetermined pitch are oriented in mutually different directions.
LIGHT-GUIDE PLANAR STRUCTURE OF BACKLIGHT MODULE
The invention discloses a light-guide planar structure of a backlight module, comprising a backlight module including a luminescent lamp source, a reflecting plate, a light guide plate and a light shading plate with a plurality of preset key caps thereon, which are sequentially arranged, and a light guide structure which is arranged on the surface of the light guide plate, is planar and is a surface consisting of three or more circular or rectangular mesh points. The light-guide planar structure is simple in structure, has the effect of gathering and centralizing the light source, is stable in light guide effect, reduces light source waste and reduces module cost.
LIGHT GUIDE PLATE, DISPLAY DEVICE AND GAME MACHINE
A light guide plate according to one or more embodiment is formed of a panel transparent to visible light, and includes: a plurality of first prisms arranged along one surface of the light guide plate and distributed in a first pattern to reflect the visible light emitted from a first light source and entering the light guide from an input surface toward another surface of the light guide plate; and a plurality of second prisms arranged in a second pattern to reflect the visible light emitted from a second light source and entering the light guide from the input surface toward said other surface of the light guide plate. Each first prism includes a reflection surface directly facing the first light source, and each second prism includes a reflection surface directly facing the second light source.
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, IN PARTICULAR FOR A VEHICLE
An instrument cluster, in particular for a vehicle, has a dial with a plurality of graphic areas, which are backlit by a device provided with at least one light source, with a front light-guiding element having a front face at least partially covered by a back surface of the dial, and with a rear light-guiding element; the latter has a receiving portion facing said light source and a transmitting portion, which transmits and guides the light received by the receiving portion and is spaced apart from and faces a rear face of the front light-guiding element; the rear face of the front light-guiding element has an optical compensation system, having curved convex or curved concave lens surfaces, for varying the intensity of the light transmitted from said transmission portion to the different graphic areas.
