Communication management systems and methods for local delivery service
A local delivery service (LDS) operates in an enterprise computer network as a proxy for a communications server (CS) computer operating in a cloud computing environment. The LDS pulls a queue repository maintained by the CS and retrieves an output item flagged by the CS for local delivery. The output item has a document and associated configuration information specifying an application domain in the cloud computing environment and delivery settings specific to the application domain maintained by the CS. The LDS translates the delivery settings and routes the document to the connectors of communications channels of the enterprise computer network. In this way, documents produced by the CS in the cloud can be delivered locally to disparate destinations on the enterprise computer network without having to open individual ports in a firewall of the enterprise computer network to connect the CS with communications channels of the enterprise computer network.
INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE AND FILE ACCESS METHOD
A first correspondence table indicates a correspondence relation between logical blocks of a first file and physical blocks of a physical storage. A second correspondence table indicates a correspondence relation between logical blocks of a second file and the logical blocks of the first file. An access request receiving section receives an access request for the second file. A block conversion section refers to the second correspondence table, identifies a logical block of the first file associated with the logical block of the second file that is subject to the access request, and then refers to the first correspondence table to identify a physical block of the physical storage associated with the identified logical block of the first file. An accessing section accesses the identified physical block.
Integrated hierarchical storage management
File access statistics associated with a content file are maintained by a file tier agent of a secondary storage system. The content file is accessible via a primary storage system. A target storage tier corresponding to the file access statistics associated with the content file is determined according to one or more policies. At least a portion of data of the content file is migrated to the determined storage tier while accessibility of the content file via the primary storage system is maintained.
CONFIGURATION DATA DELETION BASED ON TAMPER STATUS
An example storage medium includes instructions that, when executed, cause a processor of a computing device to read, during start-up of the computing device, first configuration data from a first storage device of the computing device; read second configuration data from a second storage device of the computing device; determine that there is an inconsistency between the first configuration data and the second configuration data; check a tamper status of the computing device; based on the tamper status and the determination that there is an inconsistency between the first configuration data and the second configuration data: (i) clear a secure storage location of the computing device, the secure storage location storing data to access protected data; or (ii) replace the first configuration data on the first storage device of the computing device based on second data and continue the start-up of the computing device.
Distributed File System with Reduced Write and Read Latencies
A method for reducing write latency in a distributed file system. A write request that includes a volume identifier is received at a data management subsystem deployed on a node within a distributed storage system. The data management subsystem maps the volume identifier to a file system volume and maps the file system volume to a set of logical block addresses in a logical block device in a storage management subsystem deployed on the node. The storage management subsystem maps the logical block device to a metadata object for the logical block device on the node that is used to process the write request. The mapping of the file system volume to the set of logical block addresses in the logical block device enables co-locating the metadata object with the file system volume on the node, which reduces the write latency associated with processing the write request.
Sharing of data among containers running on virtualized operating systems
A solution is proposed for managing containers isolating corresponding application environments from one or more shared operating systems in a computing system. One or more relevant groups are determined among one or more candidate groups (each comprising private data in common among a plurality of the containers); the candidate groups are determined according to corresponding access commands submitted by the containers and the relevant groups are determined according to one or more relevance policies. The private data of the relevant groups are consolidated into corresponding shared data.
Global file system for data-intensive applications
A method and system for accessing a file in a global file system. The method includes sending, from a client device to a global file system storing a file, a request to access a portion of the file, wherein the global file system includes at least one object storage system and at least one server, wherein the data of the file is stored in a plurality of objects stored in the at least one object storage system; receiving a cloud file descriptor from the at least one server, wherein the cloud file descriptor includes a plurality of download tokens utilized to retrieve at least one object of the plurality of objects from the at least one object storage system, wherein the at least one object includes the requested portion of the file; and accessing the portion of the file using the cloud file descriptor.
Method, apparatus and computer program product for managing metadata of storage object
Metadata of a storage object is managed. An example method for managing metadata of a storage object comprises: in response to receiving a request to access metadata of a storage object, obtaining a first identifier of the storage object from the request; determining, based on the first identifier, a second identifier of a page where the metadata is located, an address of the page and the second identifier being stored in association in an entry of a page table distributed among a plurality of storage devices with different access speeds; determining, from the plurality of storage devices, a storage device storing the entry; and obtaining the address of the page by accessing the entry from the storage device, so as to access the metadata from the page.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING PROGRAM
An information processing apparatus calculates, in a case where an object including at least one of data or metadata related to the data is recorded in a magnetic tape including a first partition in which one or more objects are to be recorded and a second partition in which pieces of the metadata are to be recorded, a second ratio as a ratio between a size of the first partition and a size of the second partition in the magnetic tape by using a first ratio as a ratio between a total size of the objects and a total size of the pieces of the metadata.
File layer to block layer communication for block organization in storage
A method performed by a block-storage server, of storing data is described. The method includes (1) receiving, from a remote file server, data blocks to be written to persistent block storage managed by the block-storage server; (2) receiving, from the remote file server, metadata describing a placement of the data blocks in a filesystem managed by the remote file server; and (3) organizing the data blocks within the persistent block storage based, at least in part, on the received metadata. An apparatus, system, and computer program product for performing a similar method are also provided.
