Sanitizing Compositions and Methods for Making and Using Same
Sanitizing compositions and methods for making and using these compositions are disclosed. In particular, the compositions comprise a fast acting antimicrobial agent and a persistent microbial agent with alcohol and beeswax among the active ingredients. The ethanol content may vary between about 62 vol.-% and 75 vol.-%. The beeswax content may vary between about 0.01 vol.-% and 3 vol.-%. Log reduction in E. coli bacteria>5 was measured at 1 minute, 8 hours and 24 hours.
GELLED COMPOSITION COMPRISING A DISPERSION OF SOLID AGGREGATES
A composition, especially a cosmetic composition, in particular for making up and/or caring for keratin materials, including at least one aqueous phase gelled with at least one hydrophilic gelling agent; and at least one oily phase gelled with at least one lipophilic gelling agent chosen from organopolysiloxane elastomers; said phases forming therein a macroscopically homogeneous mixture. The composition also includes a dispersion of solid aggregates, said aggregates being formed from 10% to 80% by weight of wax(es), relative to their total weight. Also disclosed is a process for preparing such a composition.
DELIVERY OF CANNABIS COMPOSITION
A composition comprising a Hsieh Enhancer (U.S. Pat. No. 5,023,252) and (A) at least one compound which has psycoactive properties and the source of which is cannabis; or (B) at least one compound which approves the appearance of the skin of an individual.
AQUEOUS WAX DISPERSIONS CONTAINING VOLATILE SOLVENTS
The present invention is directed to an aqueous dispersion comprising: (a) at least one solid wax particle having a particle size ranging from equal to or greater than 1 micron to about 100 microns and comprising at least one wax having a melting point of greater than 35 C.; (b) a surfactant mixture comprising at least one nonionic surfactant and at least one ionic surfactant; (c) at least one volatile solvent; and (d) water. The aqueous dispersion may be employed in compositions capable of delivering benefits to various substrates, for example, keratinous substrates such as skin and hair.
Oil-in-water emulsion comprising at least one specific mixture of nonionic surfactants, a wax comprising at least one ester and a water-soluble polysaccharide
The present invention relates to a composition in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion, comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium: A) a continuous aqueous phase and B) an oily phase dispersed in the said aqueous phase and comprising at least one hydrocarbon-based oil; C) at least one mixture consisting of: i) at least one nonionic surfactant containing a saturated linear hydrocarbon-based chain comprising at least 16 carbon atoms, the said surfactant being other than a fatty alcohol, and ii) at least one fatty alcohol in pure form containing at least 16 carbon atoms or a mixture consisting exclusively of fatty alcohols containing at least 16 carbon atoms; D) at least one wax with a melting point of greater than 45 C. comprising one or more C.sub.40-C.sub.70 ester compounds and not comprising any C.sub.20-C.sub.39 ester compounds, in an amount from 1 to 10% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition and E) at least one water-soluble polysaccharide; the said composition having a viscosity, measured at 25 C. with a Rheomat RM 180 viscometer at 200 s.sup.1 at room temperature with a No. 3 or No. 4 spindle after 10 minutes, ranging from 1500 mPa.Math.s to 12 000 mPa.Math.s and preferably from 2000 mPa.Math.s to 8000 mPa.Math.s. The present invention also relates to a cosmetic process for treating and/or caring for human keratin materials, characterized in that it consists in applying to the surface of the keratin material a composition as defined previously. The present invention also relates to a cosmetic process for treating human perspiration and/or perspiration-related body odour, which consists in applying to the surface of a human keratin material a composition as defined previously comprising at least one deodorant active agent and/or one antiperspirant active agent.
SUNSCREEN COMPOSITIONS WITH IMPROVED WATER RESISTANCE OF UVA SUNSCREEN ACTIVE AGENTS
Sunscreen compositions, products and methods that include at least one sunscreen active agent and one or more water insoluble film forming polymers. The compositions, products and methods may further include one or more active or inactive cosmetic ingredients. The water insoluble film forming polymers synergistically affect the UVA and UVB sunscreen active agents, in particularly the UVA sunscreen active agents by significantly enhancing the water resistance of the UVA sunscreen active agents after water exposure as determined by the SPF and UVAPF values measured before and after water exposure.
TOPICAL CREAM-BASED COSMETIC AND WOUND HEALING FORMULATIONS AND METHODS OF USE
A cream formulation or topical use made of a mixture of naturally occurring biologically active phytochemical compounds that possess a variety of beneficial animal and human health effects. An extract from an aqueous extraction process or other active ingredients could be used in the cream formulation. The present invention generally provides for the preparation of cream formulations containing active ingredients that contain individually, or in combination, an analgesic, natural product extracts, or a protein or proteins from the tripartite motif family of proteins (TRIM). The analgesic will provide mitigation of pain during the healing process.
STYLING CREAM FOR THE TEMPORARY SHAPING OF HAIR
A cosmetic composition for temporarily shaping hair includes, in a cosmetically acceptable supportrespectively with respect to the total weight of the composition e) from about 0.5% to about 8% by weight of a wax with a melting point of more than about 37 C., f) from about 0.5% to about 5% by weight of a fatty alcohol, g) from about 0.2% to about 2% by weight of a vinylpyrrolidone-containing polymer or copolymer, and h) from about 0.1% to about 10% by weight of composite powder comprising (A) powdered particles of a silicone elastomer, and (B) particles of silicon dioxide, wherein the particles of silicon dioxide (B) are immobilized on the surface of the powdered particles of the silicone elastomer (A).
