RECONFIGURABLE SERVER AND SERVER RACK WITH SAME
A reconfigurable server includes improved bandwidth connection to adjacent servers and allows for improved access to near-memory storage and for an improved ability to provision resources for an adjacent server. The server includes processor array and a near-memory accelerator module that includes near-memory and the near-memory accelerator module helps provide sufficient bandwidth between the processor array and near-memory. A hardware plane module can be used to provide additional bandwidth and interconnectivity between adjacent servers and/or adjacent switches.
Multiple function level reset management
The controller is configured to receive commands from a host device through a PCIe bus having a MAC, send data to the host device through the PCIe bus, and execute a function level reset (FLR) command. The controller includes a direct memory access (DMA) unit and either a drain unit or a drain and drop unit coupled between the DMA and the PCIe bus. The units are configured to prevent transactions associated with the FLR command to pass from the DMA to the MAC during execution of the FLR command, where the preventing transactions comprises receiving a request from the DMA, storing the request in a pipe, removing the request from the pipe, and providing a response to the DMA without delivering the request to the MAC. The drain and drop unit is configured to drop a MAC generated response.
SYNCHRONOUS INPUT / OUTPUT HARDWARE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF WRITE COMPLETIONS
A computer-implemented method for computer-implemented method for communicating completion of synchronous input/output (I/O) commands between a processor executing an operating system and a recipient control unit is described. The method may include issuing, by a processor, a Synchronous I/O command to the recipient control unit; receiving, with the processor, a DMA read request from the recipient control unit; converting, with the processor, the DMA read response to write a data record into memory of the recipient control unit; issuing the DMA read request to the recipient control unit, wherein the DMA read request comprises an echo read portion comprising at least one byte of information at the end of the data record written; receiving, by the processor, a DMA write confirmation comprising the echo read portion of the record; and writing the echo read portion to a status area.
POWER-ON-RESET SIGNAL ISOLATION DURING LOWER POWER MODE
A circuit device is provided and includes a first power domain comprising a universal serial bus (USB) subsystem and/or a memory controller subsystem. The first power domain is configured to isolate the USB subsystem and/or the memory controller subsystem from a power-on-reset signal asserted during a low power mode.
DEVICES FOR TIME DIVISION MULTIPLEXING OF STATE MACHINE ENGINE SIGNALS
A device includes a plurality of blocks. Each block of the plurality of blocks includes a plurality of rows. Each row of the plurality of rows includes a plurality of configurable elements and a routing line, whereby each configurable element of the plurality of configurable elements includes a data analysis element comprising a plurality of memory cells, wherein the data analysis element is configured to analyze at least a portion of a data stream and to output a result of the analysis. Each configurable element of the plurality of configurable elements also includes a multiplexer configured to transmit the result to the routing line.
Precise time management for peripheral device using local time base
An apparatus for time management of a peripheral device is disclosed. A peripheral interface circuit receives information from a host circuit over a peripheral bus, the host circuit maintaining a global timebase in accordance with a first clock signal within a first clock domain. The peripheral interface circuit maintains, based om a second clock signal within a second clock domain, a first local timebase correlated to the global timebase. A peripheral control circuit operates in a third clock domain and maintains a second local timebase based on the first. The peripheral interface circuit determines phase and frequency differences between the second and third clock signals in determining a correlation between the second and first local timebases. A peripheral logic circuit in the third clock domain performs, operations that utilize a timestamp from the second local timebase, which accounts for correlation with the first local timebase.
Processor communications
A processor module including a processor configured to share data with at least one further processor module processor; and a memory mapped peripheral configured to communicate with at least one further processor memory mapped peripheral to control the sharing of the data, wherein the memory mapped peripheral includes a sender part including a data request generator configured to output a data request indicator to the further processor module dependent on a data request register write signal from the processor; and an acknowledgement waiting signal generator configured to output an acknowledgement waiting signal to the processor dependent on a data acknowledgement signal from the further processor module, wherein the data request generator data request indicator is further dependent on the data acknowledgement signal and the acknowledgement waiting signal generator acknowledgement waiting signal is further dependent on the acknowledgement waiting register write signal.

Initialization sequencing of chiplet I/O channels within a chiplet system
A system comprises an interposer including interconnect and multiple chiplets arranged on the interposer. Each chiplet includes multiple chiplet input-output (I/O) channels interconnected to I/O channels of other chiplets by the interposer; a chiplet I/O interface for the chiplet I/O channels that includes multiple interface layers; and initialization logic circuitry configured to advance initialization of the chiplet interface sequentially through the interface layers starting with a lowest interface layer.
Secondary device detection using a synchronous interface
A chiplet system can include a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) bus for communication. A controller or primary device coupled to the SPI bus can generate a message with read or write instructions for one or more secondary devices. In an example, the primary device can be configured to use information on a data input port or data input bus to determine a communication status of one or multiple secondary devices on the bus.
