The intent is a comprehensive marketing plan utilizing and adapting existing technology and relationship development to create name recognition, and easily accessible local business information for customer/users.

A method for facilitating provision of food product information is provided. The method comprises providing a food package, wherein the food package is provided with a visual marker, capturing, by a camera of a user device, authentic image data depicting the visual marker, extracting marker data from the authentic image data, retrieving artificial image data linked to the marker data from an artificial image database, wherein the artificial image data depicts at least one food product component of a food product held in the food package, determining an artificial image spatial reference point based on the visual marker, generating augmented image data by combining the authentic image data, the artificial image data and the artificial image spatial reference point, providing the augmented image data to a screen of the user device.

In an illustrative system, a point-of-sale scanner is equipped to respond to multiple different symbologies printed on a single product. The scanner captures many frames per second, as products are swiped through a viewing volume. Each frame is decoded, yielding one or more payloads. A reconciliation module compares each newly-decoded payload against a list of payloads previously output by the module, to determine if the current payload is semantically-equivalent to a previously-output payload. If so, the previously-output payload is output again, in lieu of the just-decoded payload. If no equivalent is found, the current payload is output and added to the list for comparison against future payloads. A great number of other features and arrangements are also detailed.

Techniques are described herein that are capable of registering a user device with a cloud-based management service using an intermediate cloud storage. For instance, the intermediate cloud storage may store an encrypted data blob including information that identifies the user device. The intermediate cloud storage or a registration system may decrypt the encrypted data blob so that the registration system may use the decrypted data blob to register the user device with the cloud-based management service. For instance, the registration system may retrieve the encrypted or decrypted data blob from the intermediate cloud storage by providing a requisite secret to the intermediate cloud storage. The requisite secret may be provided to the registration system by the user device (e.g., via a matrix barcode, such as a QR code).

An improved system and method for reading an upconversion response from nanoparticle inks is provided. A is adapted to direct a near-infrared excitation wavelength at a readable indicia, resulting in a near-infrared emission wavelength created by the upconverting nanoparticle inks. A short pass filter may filter the near-infrared excitation wavelength. A camera is in operable communication with the short pass filter and receives the near-infrared emission wavelength of the readable indicia. The system may further include an integrated circuit adapted to receive the near-infrared emission wavelength from the camera and generate a corresponding signal. A readable application may be in operable communication with the integrated circuit. The readable application receives the corresponding signal, manipulates the signal, decodes the signal into an output, and displays and/or stores the output.
