Wireless network camera systems
11589009 · 2023-02-21 · ·

Apparatus, systems and techniques associated with battery powered wireless camera systems are provided. In an example, a system includes a battery powered wireless camera including an internal battery to provide energy and an image capture module to capture infrared images. Further, the battery powered wireless camera includes a low-bandwidth radio transceiver which may wirelessly communicate with a base station, and may receive commands for operation of the battery powered wireless camera. The battery powered wireless camera also includes a high-bandwidth radio transceiver which may wirelessly communicate with the base station. If the high-bandwidth radio transceiver is powered down, the image capture module may store captured infrared images. If an infrared detection module triggers activation, the high-bandwidth radio transceiver may power up and transmit the captured images to the base station. In an example, the low-bandwidth radio transceiver may wirelessly communicate with the base station over a low-bandwidth radio link.

ADJUSTING AREAS OF INTEREST FOR MOTION DETECTION IN CAMERA SCENES

Disclosed are methods, systems, and apparatus for adjusting areas of interest for motion detection in camera scenes. A method includes obtaining a map of false motion event detections using a first area of interest; identifying an overlap area between the map of false detections and the first area of interest; determining a second area of interest that includes portions of the first area of interest and excludes at least a part of the overlap area; obtaining a map of true motion event detections using the first area of interest; determining whether true detections using the second area of interest compared to true detections using the first area of interest satisfies performance criteria; and in response to determining that true detections using the second area of interest compared to true detections using the first area of interest satisfies performance criteria, providing the second area of interest for use in detecting events.

Apparatus, method and storage medium

Provided is an apparatus comprising: a detection unit configured to detect a state of an electric lock provided at a doorway; a first monitoring camera arranged on the inside of the doorway; a judging unit configured to judge, at a reference time of day, whether the electric lock is locked; and a sending unit configured to send image data captured by the first monitoring camera or location information of the image data to a destination corresponding to the electric lock, when the electric lock is not locked at the reference time of day.

Premises management configuration and control

Disclosed are methods, systems, and devices for management of a premises. The premises may comprise one or more devices, such as a gateway device, a control device, or a premises device. A computing device, such as a server external to the premises, may receive data indicative of the premises device. The computing device may determine to update a configuration of one or more devices at the premises, such as the gateway device or the control device. Configuration data may be sent to the gateway device to update the configuration.

Method for activating an alert when an object is left proximate a room entryway

A method of detecting an object in a hallway proximate a door including: receiving a status of an access control operably connected to a door of a room, the status indicating that the door has been opened; determining that an object is located in a hallway proximate the door; determining whether the door was opened from inside of the room or from outside of the room using a credential to actuate the access control; determining who opened the door; and generating an alert in response to who opened the door and whether the door was opened from inside of the room or from outside of the room using a credential to actuate the access control.

Mesh-based home security system

A network management system manages the operation of a home security system in a communication network, such as a mesh network. The home security system can include multiple components such as a camera, a lighting device, a security alarm, a doorbell switch and doorbell chime, and a fingerprint sensor, which connect with the communication network to perform various operations. The network management system monitors environmental parameters of the communication network, such as parameters associated with the access points and components of the home security system, determines an access point to which a component of the home security system is to be connected for efficient operation of the home security system, and connects the component to the communication network via the determined access point.

Multi-sensor motion detection

Use of multiple sensors to determine whether motion of an object is occurring in an area is described. In one aspect, an infrared (IR) sensor can be supplemented with a radar sensor to determine whether the determined motion of an object is not a false positive.

Method of On-Boarding a Monitoring Device into a Networked Electronic Monitoring System
20230101682 · 2023-03-30 ·

A method is provided for on-boarding/integrating a monitoring device, such as a smart camera, into an electronic monitoring system. A plurality of access points to a wireless network are displayed on a user device such as a smartphone. Each of the plurality of access points has a corresponding credential associated therewith. Some or all of the plurality of access points are selected. A computer-readable code including information for the selected access points and associated credentials is generated. The monitoring device reads the computer-readable code to obtain the information for the selected access points and associated credentials. Access points may be prioritized for connection to the wireless network based on signal strength.

Doorbell communication systems and methods

The disclosure includes a method for using a doorbell system to detect a presence of a visitor. The doorbell system can comprise a doorbell having a speaker, a microphone, a camera, and a button. The method can include detecting, by the doorbell system, the presence of the visitor while the visitor is located outside a building to which the doorbell is attached. The building can include a door having a lock that is configured to fasten the door to inhibit unauthorized entry into the building. In response to detecting the presence of the visitor, the method can include the step of actuating, by the doorbell system, a first appliance associated with the building.

Sensor-Based Privacy-Event Detection for a Mounted Electronic Device

Sensor-based privacy-event detection for a mounted electronic device is described. In aspects, a security system includes a head assembly removably and magnetically coupled to a mounting device having a magnet. The electronic device also includes a camera module and a sensor disposed within the housing. The sensor detects a magnetic field associated with the magnet when the head assembly is coupled to the mounting device. When a user detaches the head assembly from the mounting device (e.g., to recharge the electronic device), the sensor no longer detects the magnetic field and determines the occurrence of a privacy event, which is used to deactivate the camera module to prevent unintentional recordings during the privacy event.
