Long lasting breath mint
A long lasting breath mint including a carrier and a flavorant, wherein the carrier includes at least one of a high viscosity cellulose ether and a low viscosity cellulose either and an alginate. The carrier forms a gel upon contact with saliva. A tablet is placed in the mouth of user, whereupon the tablet is wetted with saliva. A surface of the tablet is converted to a gel resulting in a tablet having an outer gel layer and a core. The gel serves as an adhesive for adhering the tablet to mouth structure. The gel slows exposure of the core to moisture and also slows diffusion of flavorant into the mouth of the user with the gel resulting in a breath mint having an extremely long life prior to complete dissolution, e.g., greater than 30 minutes or longer.
COMPOSITION COMPRISING AT LEAST ONE AMPS® COPOLYMER, AT LEAST ONE ACYL GLUTAMIC ACID OR A SALT THEREOF AND AT LEAST ONE ALKYL POLYGLUCOSIDE
The present invention relates to a composition comprising at least one copolymer comprising at least one 2-acrylami-do-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (AMPS®) monomer and at least one monomer bearing a hydrophobic group, at least one acyl glutamic acid or a salt thereof and at least one emulsifying system comprising at least one alkyl polyglucoside.
Methods of increasing solubility of poorly soluble compounds and methods of making and using formulations of such compound
The subject invention relates to novel soluble forms of planar ring structured organic compounds including flavonoids, and their production. The invention also includes the use of these novel formulations of planar ring structured organic compounds in the preparation of formulations and products. The invention also relates to a wide variety of applications of the formulations of the invention. The subject invention includes novel soluble forms and various formulations of flavonoids. Further, the invention includes novel methods of manufacturing the flavonoid formulations. The invention also relates to a wide variety of applications of the flavonoid formulations.
SOAP BASED SUNSCREEN COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to a composition comprising: a) one or more fatty acids selected from the group consisting of straight or branched saturated fatty acids in C.sub.8-C.sub.30, b) at least one basic agent, c) at least one lipophilic UV absorption agent, d) at least hydrophobic silica aerogel particles, and e) at least one aqueous phase.
Method of identifying or evaluating synergistic combinations of actives and compositions containing the same
A method of identifying or evaluating synergistic combinations of actives such as skin-care actives that improve the metabolism of a cell and provides an advantage over using the actives alone. The method includes contacting cells with test agents, alone and in combination, and determining a response of the cells to the test agent(s), wherein the response corresponds to a change in a metabolic indicator associated with glycolysis and a change in a metabolic indicator associated with oxidative phosphylation.
Cosmetic or Dermatological Composition Containing Retinaldehyde and DNA
A dermatological and/or topical composition, which contains retinaldehyde, and DNA.
Antibacterial activity of galactooligosaccharide and xylitol in dermatological treatments
The invention relates to topical formulations comprising: a galactooligosaccharide; 0.01% to 10% w/w xylitol; and a pharmaceutically or cosmetically acceptable carrier. The invention also relates to use of the formulations, and methods for their preparation.
Antimicrobial composition
This invention relates to an antimicrobial composition, especially one which provides synergistic anti-dandruff efficacy. This is achieved through a judicious combination of anti-dandruff agent zinc pyrithione and an alcoholic compound of specific types. These compositions can be delivered through very many different types of personal care products e.g. shampoo or conditioner.
Composition comprising (2,5-diaminophenyl)ethanol and a cellulose polymer or carboxylic anionic polymer in a medium rich in fatty substances, dyeing process and device
The present invention relates to a composition for dyeing keratin fibers, comprising a) one or more fatty substances, which are preferably liquid and non-silicone, b) one or more cellulose polymers and/or one or more carboxylic anionic, c) (2,5-diaminophenyl)ethanol, d) optionally, one or more couplers, e) optionally, one or more basifying agents, and f) one or more chemical oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide, and the content of fatty substances in the composition representing in total at least 10%, in particular at least 15%, more particularly at least 20% and preferably at least 25% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition resulting from the mixing of (A′)+(B′)+(C′). The present invention also relates to a process using this composition and to a multi-compartment device suitable for the use of said process.
Skin collagen production-promoting agent
A problem of the present invention is to provide a skin collagen production-promoting agent without safety problems. Another problem of the present invention is to provide a skin collagen production-promoting food or drink product and a skin collagen production-promoting cosmetic product containing such a substance. TGF-β and/or a TGF-β degradation product, which is acquired by degrading TGF-β with a protease such as pepsin, pancreatin, etc., are used as a skin collagen production-promoting agent or the active ingredient of a skin collagen production-promoting food or drink product and a skin collagen production-promoting cosmetic product. The aforementioned TGF-β and/or TGF-β degradation product have an effect of increasing the collagen content of the skin.
