TWO-DIMENSIONAL MATERIAL FOR MEDICAL WOUND AREA TREATMENT

A two-dimensional material for the medical wound area treatment is disclosed. A non-woven fabric consists of resorbable polymer filaments and collagen particles which have a particle size I >80 μm and are disposed on and/or in the non-woven fabric.

Hollow porous fibers

A hollow fiber that generally extends in a longitudinal direction is provided. The hollow fiber comprises a hollow cavity that extends along at least a portion of the fiber in the longitudinal direction. The cavity is defined by an interior wall that is formed front a thermoplastic composition containing a continuous phase that includes a polyolefin matrix polymer and a nanoinclusion additive dispersed within the continuous phase in the form of discrete domains. A porous network is defined in the composition that includes a plurality of nanopores.

Medical composition containing guanidinyl-containing polymer(s) and carrageenane(s)

The invention relates to a medical composition comprising guanidinyl-containing polymer(s) and polyanionic polymer(s). The medical composition is useful for absorbing water-containing fluids and can be used as dental retraction composition or as part of a medical treatment device.

Disclosed is an absorbent article including: a laminate that has an absorbent containing water-absorbent resin particles and a fibrous material, and a core wrap sandwiching the absorbent from upper and lower sides of the absorbent; a liquid-permeable sheet disposed on an upper surface of the laminate; and a liquid-impermeable sheet disposed on a surface on a side opposite to the liquid-permeable sheet of the laminate. The water-absorbent resin particles satisfy the following requirements (a) and (b). (a) A surface drying index of the absorbent article represented by the following formula is 45 or lower.

Surface drying index=(moisture content index 1.5 minutes after liquid injection/moisture content index 1 minute after liquid injection)×100

(b) A water retention capacity of the water-absorbent resin particles for a physiological saline solution is 30 g/g or more.

CONTROLLED HYDROGEL DELIVERY OF FOCAL ADHESION KINASE INHIBITOR FOR DECREASED SCAR FORMATION

The formation of scars at a wound site is reduced by contacting the wound site with an effective dose of an inhibitor of focal adhesion kinase (FAK) formulated in a pullulan hydrogel The release profile of the FAK inhibitor can be adjusted according to the nature of the wound, e.g., excisional wounds, burn wounds, etc.
