Network and method for servicing a computation request

A framework for joint computation, caching, and request forwarding in data-centric computing-based networks comprises a virtual control plane, which operates on request counters for computations and data, and an actual plane, which handles computation requests, data requests, data objects and computation results in the physical network. A throughput optimal policy, implemented in the virtual plane, provides a basis for adaptive and distributed computation, caching, and request forwarding in the actual plane. The framework provides superior performance in terms of request satisfaction delay as compared with several baseline policies over multiple network topologies.

CONTROLLING SERVICE DISCOVERY AND ACTIVATION AMONG PEERS

Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media are provided for publishing, discovering, connecting with and activating services in a peer-to-peer environment. Services available in association with a first computing device are determined and encoded with instructions for accessing and understanding such services via their respective activation protocols. The encoded services are published via a publication protocol such that they are discoverable by at least a second computing device, irrespective of whether such services may be activated via the publication protocol. The second computing device discovers the available services via the publication protocol and accesses and understands the instructions associated with a desired service. Upon receipt of a request from the second computing device, via the activation protocol, to activate the requested service, the requested service is activated by the first computing device.

Operating a network node

Measures, including methods, apparatus and computer programs, for use in operating a network node. At the network node a database of session description protocol (SDP) precondition preference data for a plurality of network elements is maintained. A session initiation protocol (SIP) message directed towards a downstream network element is received. The received message includes SDP data. A lookup in the database in relation to the received SIP message is performed to retrieve SDP precondition preference data for the downstream network element. The received SIP message is processed according to the retrieved SDP precondition preference data. The processed SIP message is transmitted to the downstream network element.

METHOD OF TRANSMITTING/RECEIVING DATA UNIT, AND DEVICE THEREFOR

In the present disclosure, a transmitting device generates a medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU) including a MAC subPDU, and transmits the MAC PDU. The MAC subPDU includes a MAC subheader for a MAC service data unit (SDU) of a logical channel. The MAC subheader includes a length field regarding a length of the MAC SDU of the logical channel, and no logical channel identifier (LCID) field for identifying the logical channel.

TrGw and virtualisation

A method and an apparatus are provided, by which control in a virtual network is performed, in which resources of a network are modeled, wherein the control of the virtual network is carried out according to a first network protocol. Moreover, a network interface is provided between the virtual network and the network the resources of which are modeled. A control part of a network resource is provided in the virtual network, the control part and the network resource requiring a second network protocol for exchanging control signaling. Control information according to one of the first and second network protocols, which are destined to the network element, is encapsulated in control signaling of another one of the first and second network protocols, and the control signaling is sent to the on the network interface to a network control element, which de-capsulates the encapsulated control information from the received control signaling, and forwards the detected control information to the network resource.

NON-ACCESS STRATUM BASED ACCESS METHOD AND TERMINAL SUPPORTING THE SAME
20170295529 · 2017-10-12 ·

A non-access stratum based access method and a terminal supporting the same. The terminal receives an Internet protocol (IP) address allocated from a first gateway included in a non-3.sup.rd generation partnership project (3GPP) access network. In addition, the terminal applies a non-access stratum (NAS) protocol to a first device managing mobility of the terminal through the IP address.

Simulation for alternative communication

A host computing system includes an applications layer containing one or more user applications that perform I/O operations, an access methods layer that communicates with the applications layer, an I/O drivers layer that communicates with the access methods layer, and an SSCH simulation layer that communicates with the I/O drivers layer and that simulates a Fibre Channel connection that is accessed by applications in the applications layer. The host computing system may also include a TCP/IP stack layer that communicates with the SSCH simulation layer to provide TCP/IP communication for the host computing system. TCP/IP communication provided by the TCP/IP stack layer may be separate from any dedicated TCP/IP communication provided by the host. The host computing system may be coupled to a TCP/IP network. A cloud storage may be coupled to the network to communicate with the host computing system.

COMPILING NETWORK POLICIES

Example implementations relate to compiling network policies. In an example, a method includes dividing a plurality of network policies into an exclusive policy group and a non-exclusive policy group, compiling the policies in the exclusive policy group into a first plurality of orthogonal policies, compiling the policies in the non-exclusive policy group into at least a second plurality of orthogonal policies, where the compiling of each policy group occurs separately.

METHODS AND DEVICES FOR ESTABLISHING A STREAMING SESSION IN A FRAMEWORK FOR LIVE UPLINK STREAMING
20220053033 · 2022-02-17 ·

A Framework for Live Uplink Streaming (PLUS) session between a PLUS source (100) and a PLUS sink (200) is initiated and controlled by the PLUS sink. The PLUS source registers with the PLUS sink and indicates its capabilities. The PLUS sink requests establishment of the session and further controls the session once established. The PLUS sink sends control requests that include control information to the PLUS source, thereby controlling media streaming at the PLUS source remotely.
