This application provides a communication method and a communication apparatus. This application may be applied to a wireless local area network system that supports 802.11 series protocols, for example, a next-generation Wi-Fi protocol of IEEE 802.11ax like 802.11be, Wi-Fi 7, or EHT, and a next generation of 802.11be like Wi-Fi 8 or UHR. In the method, a first user information field in a control frame carries control frame protection information. An association identifier in the first user information field indicates that the first user information field carries the control frame protection information. The method specifies a control frame protection mechanism, and can effectively prevent attacks on control frames.

A communication method and a related apparatus are provided. An SBP initiator determines a first request frame, and transmits the first request frame to a sensing by proxy (SBP) responder. When a value of a first field in the first request frame indicates that a preferred sensing responder in a preferred sensing responder list carried in the first request frame is mandatory, a second field and/or a third field in the first request frame are/is not reserved fields/a reserved field. The second field indicates a number of sensing responders requested by the SBP initiator, and the third field indicates whether the number of sensing responders is mandatory.

An apparatus comprising: an input for receiving a stream comprising a plurality of data transmission units; a filter configured to identify, in the stream, at least one data transmission unit having control data of a predetermined type and remove said control data to generate a second stream; a protocol module configured to receive said second stream and identify, in the second stream, at least one data transmission unit of a predetermined type and add protocol information to the at least one data transmission unit; and wherein the removal of said control data provides time in said second stream for the addition of the protocol information; and wherein the apparatus includes a transceiver configured to output signals representative of said data transmission units of the second stream with said protocol information added to a transmission medium.
