Rubber-based soft gel skin adhesives
Adhesives comprising rubber, tackifier, oil, and optionally absorbent and active ingredient are described. The adhesives are suitable for medical applications as they are repositionable on skin. Also described are medical articles using the adhesives.
ANTISEPTIC COMPOSITION
The object of the present invention is to provide an antiseptic composition that can reduce the risk of an incise drape coming off from the skin, without adversely affecting microbicidal activity, even when the incise drape is affixed to skin surface after application of the antiseptic composition, and/or exerts more effective microbicidal activity. A composition comprising a microbicide and a sugar alcohol is used as the antiseptic composition.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING WOUNDS
An improvement to the effectiveness or take of skin grafts or tissue replacements used to treat wounds is provided. A therapeutic composition comprising recombinant human platelet-derived growth factor BB homodimer (rhPDGF-BB) and a porous biocompatible carrier is first applied to the wound surface, followed by applying a skin substitute or tissue replacements composition.
FORMULATION FOR TOPICAL WOUND TREATMENT
The present invention relates to new formulations, particularly useful in the topical treatment of skin and orormucosal wounds. Formulations can be either a solution or a gel form consisting of a Polyhexamethylene biguanide as an antimicrobial agent, purified water and a tri-blockcopolymer, particularly a triblockcopolymer of polyethylene oxide and polypropylene oxide, and more particularly a poloxamer.
IMPLANTABLE ORTHOPEDIC DEVICES HAVING ANTIMICROBIAL COATINGS
An implantable orthopedic device having an antimicrobial coating on at least one surface thereof is disclosed. The antimicrobial coating includes alexidine and a carrier polymer.
MATERIALS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING INFECTIONS
The subject invention provides materials methods for reducing infections in subjects. The materials methods utilize chlorhexidine, which has been found to be surprisingly non-toxic. The lack of toxicity facilitates the use of chlorhexidine in contexts that were not previously thought to be possible.
WOUND CARE PRODUCTS COMPRISING ALEXIDINE
A wound care product and related methods of treatment for wound site infection and for healing a wound is disclosed. The wound care product includes alexidine and a substrate and/or a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
HYPERTONIC ANTIMICROBIAL THERAPEUTIC COMPOSITIONS
Therapeutic compositions, primarily for topical application, and methods of making and using the composition. Pharmaceutical compositions formulated for specific forms of administration are also provided.
HYPERTONIC ANTIMICROBIAL THERAPEUTIC COMPOSITIONS
Therapeutic compositions, primarily for topical application, and methods of making and using the composition. Pharmaceutical compositions formulated for specific forms of administration are also provided.
Chlorhexidine gluconate compositions, resin systems and article
Compositions containing chlorhexidine gluconate solubilized in hydrophobic vehicles are described. Resin systems containing such chlorhexidine gluconate compositions, including adhesives and articles incorporating such resin systems, including medical articles such as drapes are also described.
