Providing user equipment (UE) location information during an emergency call
A solution for providing user equipment (UE) location information during an emergency call (e.g., an E911 call) includes: detecting an emergency call originating from the UE; determining a location of the UE; based on at least detecting the emergency call originating from the UE, transmitting the location of the UE across a cellular network to an emergency monitoring node (e.g., a public safety answering points (PSAP) and/or a gateway mobile location center (GMLC)); and based on at least detecting the emergency call originating from the UE, transmitting the location of the UE across a packet data network (e.g., the internet, using a data plan) to the emergency monitoring node. This provides an alternate path for the location information, and some examples use a larger set of location information sources. In some examples, during the emergency call, based on available battery power, the UE location information may be updated.
Vehicle that has automatic notification function
A vehicle that has an automatic notification function includes a first communication device that transmits emergency information to a server apparatus of an automatic emergency notification system via a base station in a case where an emergency situation arises, a control unit that automatically transmits the emergency information to the server apparatus by using the first communication device when the emergency situation arises, and a second communication device that restrictedly communicates with an external device. The control unit immediately transmits the emergency information to the server apparatus by using the first communication device if the first communication device is capable of immediately transmitting the emergency information, and releases communication restriction on the second communication device to transmit the emergency information to the server apparatus by using the second communication device and the external device if the first communication device is not capable of immediately transmitting the emergency information.

Verifying Availability of at Least Part of a Communication Link
Methods and apparatus are provided. In an example aspect, a method in a first network node for verifying availability of at least part of a communication link is provided. The method comprises receiving, from a first functional safety application, a plurality of first messages for verifying availability of a communication link between the first functional safety application and a second functional safety application according to one or more parameters associated with the communication link, wherein each first message includes one or more respective data. The method also comprises exchanging, with a second network node over at least part of the communications link, a plurality of second messages and a plurality of acknowledgements of the second messages for verifying availability of the at least part of the communications link, wherein the second messages and acknowledgements of the second messages are successively exchanged with the second network node in accordance with at least one of the one or more parameters associated with the communication link, and the second messages and the acknowledgements of the second messages do not include.

METHOD FOR IMPROVED EMERGENCY CALL
Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for improving emergency calls by a user equipment (UE) in certain scenarios. The techniques generally include receiving a trigger for the UE to perform a circuit switched (CS) emergency call via a first subscriber identity module (SIM) that is serving as a default data subscriber (DDS), attempting the CS emergency call via the first SIM, detecting a failure to perform the CS emergency call via the first SIM, and re-attempting the CS emergency call via a second SIM, in response to the detection.

Apparatus and Method For Obtaining Emergency Data Related To Emergency Sessions
A disclosed method of operation includes detecting emergency call data from an emergency call data feed to an emergency network; obtaining the emergency call data from the emergency network over a network connection; and providing emergency data to the emergency network over the network connection based on device identifiers contained in the emergency call data.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DEVICE MANAGEMENT TO RESTRICT HANDOVER AND ATTACH
Systems, methods, and process nodes for managing device connections in a telecommunications network perform and/or comprise: receiving a connection request from a wireless device at a first Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) of the telecommunications network; comparing a capability report of the wireless device to a predetermined criteria, wherein the predetermined criteria corresponds to whether the wireless device is compatible with the first PLMN; and in response to a determination that the capability report meets the predetermined criteria, denying the connection request.
