Electric wire processing apparatus, electric wire processing method, and electric wire holding structure
An electric wire processing apparatus includes a gripping mechanism that grips a part of an electric wire, a driving mechanism that drives the gripping mechanism, an electric wire winding mechanism that winds the electric wire, and a rotating mechanism that rotates and drives the electric wire winding mechanism. The electric wire winding mechanism includes a winding drum, an electric wire clip provided on the winding drum to hold a leading end of the electric wire, and a holding member that holds an electric wire bundle. The driving mechanism moves the gripping mechanism toward the electric wire clip to hold the leading end on the electric wire clip, the rotating mechanism rotates the winding drum so that the electric wire is wound around the winding drum, and the holding member holds the electric wire bundle wound around the winding drum in the annular shape.
Apparatus for maintaining wire shielding positioning during electrical component placement
An apparatus for facilitating an insertion of a wire surrounded by shielding into an electrical component so as to prevent a dislocation of the shielding during insertion is disclosed. The apparatus includes a wire receiver and one or more conduits within a body. The wire receiver has a cavity including a first end and a second end. A portion of the first end and second end define a wire axis along the cavity through the body and the cavity is configured to receive the wire along the wire axis. The conduits are connected to the cavity between the first end and second end and are configured to direct air flow radially into the cavity and in a direction outward through an air outlet at the first end of the cavity along the wire axis to force the shielding against the wire while the wire is inserted into the electrical component.

Wire harness manufacturing system
A wire harness manufacturing system includes a display unit, a wire cutting machine that draws an electric wire from a wire feed reel and cuts the electric wire to a predetermined length, a control unit that directs the display unit to display a wire laying image and wire work identification information for identifying a work regarding each electric wire, the wire laying image including a plurality of wire images showing the plurality of electric wire in the laid state and the wire work identification information being displayed in the vicinity of the corresponding wire image, and a memory unit that stores the wire laying image and work instruction information so as to correspond to the wire work identification information, the work instruction information including cut length of the electric wire. The control unit sends the cut length information to the wire cutting machine.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE AUTOMATED PRODUCTION OF A CABLE SET
A system for the automated production of a cable set, which has a branched structure of a plurality of individual line elements. In a modular set-up in the first part, a plurality of first processing stations, and in the second part, a plurality of second processing stations are arranged. In the first part, there is an automatic preparation of the individual line elements, which are then collected in a buffer station at the end of the first part. In the second part, the prepared individual line elements are assembled into the cable set. The line elements are plugged into connector casings in a connector station and transferred to second transporters, and via which the branched structure of the cable set is then formed by moving along second tracks. In this spread-out branched structure, a fixing of the line elements to one another takes place in a fixing station.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE AUTOMATED PRODUCTION OF A WIRING HARNESS
A system for the automated manufacture of a wiring harness, which demonstrates a branched structure made up of multiple individual conductor elements. To form wiring harnesses having an individually branched structure, the conductor elements are automatically brought into a predefined distribution structure, multiple second rails oriented in parallel to each other and multiple second transporters, distributed on the second rails, being used for this purpose. The second transporters are each fitted with one wire end of the conductor elements. To form the distribution structure, the second rails are subsequently moved in a vertical direction, and the second transporters are moved along the second rail. In this spread-apart structure, additional processing steps are carried out, for example a fixing of the conductor elements to each other.
Wire Inventory Indexing System
A computerized discrete wire inventory indexing system organizes and automates the intake of wiring used in a wire harness assembly work cell. Functions in a work cell may be duplicated into a second arrangement symmetrically opposite to a first arrangement so that an indexing system in accordance with the invention may operate between or alongside the adjacent work cells to execute its tasks in tandem and produce pairs of wires to be used within the two work cells. The wire indexing system operates with a tandem wire pulling machine on a movable shuttle that grabs pairs of wires from the indexing system and draws them to length. Both the shuttle and the wire indexing system may includes fixtures for stripping and terminating wires by crimping terminals onto prepared wire ends. Computer control enables rapid and correct wire production and efficient process change-overs.
