11207212 · 2021-12-28 · ·

A work tip for a surgical hand piece has a solid knife connected to a source of ultrasonic energy in the hand piece and a sleeve having a generally uniform cylindrical shape that surrounds the distal end of the knife. The distal end of the knife has at least a portion of a conical tip, e.g., a Cobra tip. The sleeve provides irrigation and aspiration fluid channels. Also, a structure in the sleeve blocks the proximal opening in the upper part of the conical tip when the knife is withdrawn into the sleeve. A hole is provided in the sleeve adjacent to, but proximally of the structure so that when a portion of the opening is blocked, aspiration fluid flows through the hole to provide I/A clean up.

An apparatus, system and method for a handpiece for ocular surgical. Included may be at least: a proximal portion having at least inlet ports for irrigation tubing and aspiration tubing, and providing an irrigation fluidic pathway extending therethrough from the irrigation tubing inlet port, and an aspiration fluidic pathway extending therethrough from the aspiration inlet port; a distal portion terminating in an emulsifying tip, and providing an aspiration pathway terminating in an aspiration output, and at least one irrigation pathway terminating in at least one irrigation output; and a swivel ball provided at a base of the proximal portion and having a first opening to the irrigation fluidic pathway, and a second opening to the aspiration fluidic pathway, which seats within a socket cup provided at an upper end of the distal portion.

DEVICE FOR TREATING BLEEDING

A system for treating internal bleeding via application of a heated irrigant, such that the heated irrigant is delivered at a flow rate of between 2 cc/s and 12 cc/s and at a temperature of between 46 degrees Celsius and 52 degrees Celsius.

SYNCHRONIZED AUTOMATED BRONCHIAL LAVAGE ASPIRATION APPARATUS
20210379275 · 2021-12-09 ·

A synchronized automated bronchial lavage aspiration apparatus synchronizes with ventilator inspiration and expiration cycles to clear a patient's airway of stagnant secretion automatically. Synchronized and automatic instillation of saline prior to aspiration suppresses bacteria in the airway and suctioning during exhalation drains the airway of sputum.

A piston is inserted at one end of the water inlet chamber, the piston and an interior of the water inlet chamber form a chamber, a recess is formed on a side of the piston away from the chamber, a rotor is rotatably connected in the recess, the rotor is connected with a link, an end of the link away from the rotor is connected with an eccentric rotating assembly, one end of the water inlet assembly communicates with the water reservoir, a check valve is arranged in the water inlet assembly, and another check valve is arranged in the water outlet assembly.

ERGONOMIC PHACOEMULSIFICATION HANDPIECE
20220192879 · 2022-06-23 ·

An apparatus, system and method for a phacoemulsification handpiece. Included are: at least a first segment having a longitudinal axis, and a first end and a second end, wherein at least aspiration, irrigation and power inputs enter the first end; a second segment along the longitudinal axis and comprising, at a distalmost portion thereof from the first segment, a needle powered by the power input, an aspiration output, and an irrigation output; a rotating coupler capable of coupling the second end of the first segment and the second segment to enable independent axial rotation about the longitudinal axis of the first segment from the second segment; and a plurality of flexible tubing passing substantially along the longitudinal axis within both the first segment and the second segment. The plurality of flexible tubing flexes within the first and second segments and within the rotating coupler so as not to bind during the independent axial rotation.

REDUCING IRRIGATION/ASPIRATION VALVE RESPONSE TIME IN A PHACOEMULSIFICATION SYSTEM

A phacoemulsification apparatus includes a phacoemulsification probe, an electromechanical valve, and an electromechanical mechanism. The probe having a fluid channel for exchanging fluid with a patient's eye. The electromechanical valve is coupled with the fluid channel and is configured to regulate a fluid flow through the fluid channel. The valve including a cylinder, a piston inside the cylinder, wherein the piston divides the cylinder into a first cavity that is in fluid communication with the fluid channel, and a second cavity, and one or more fluid communication links, which are formed between the first and second cavities. The piston is configured to move inside the cylinder to regulate the flow of the fluid, and the one or more fluid communication links are configured to allow the fluid to flow between the first and second cavities during motion of the piston. The electromechanical mechanism is configured to move the piston.

MODULE FOR ASPIRATION AND IRRIGATION CONTROL

A module for controlling irrigation and aspiration of a phacoemulsification probe inserted into an eye includes an irrigation link, an aspiration link, a bypass channel, an aspiration valve, a diversion valve, a first and second sensors and a processor. The first sensor and second sensor are configured to measure fluid parameters in the irrigation link and in the aspiration link. The processor is in communication with the sensors, and is configured to identify a change in at least one of the fluid parameters by reading at least one of the first sensor and the second sensor, and, in response to the identified change in the at least one of the fluid parameters, (i) close the aspiration valve and (ii) maintain a pressure of the irrigation fluid delivered to the probe within a predefined range, by regulating the fluid flow via the bypass channel using the diversion valve.

AUTOMATIC INFUSION VALVE
20220193323 · 2022-06-23 ·

The present disclosure generally relates to fluid control valves for delivering and/or aspirating fluid during ophthalmic surgeries and procedures. In one embodiment, a valve assembly includes a first portion configured to fluidly couple with a gas supply line and a second portion configured to fluidly couple with a liquid supply line and an infusion line. The first portion and the second portion are partitioned or separated from each other by a filter having a hydrophobic membrane configured to prevent the flow of liquids therethrough while allowing the free flow of gas. Accordingly, an infusion liquid may be flown through the second portion while gases may be simultaneously aspirated through the first portion, without any liquids travelling into the gas supply line. The gas supply line may thus be utilized to vent or purge gases from the infusion line before or during performance of surgical procedures.
