CONVERTIBLE PLUNGERS AND METHODS FOR ASSEMBLING THE SAME IN A MEDICAL BARREL

Disclosed are plunger assemblies including various convertible plungers and methods of making the same. Each plunger assembly is configured for disposition within a barrel of a medical container, e.g., a syringe, and displaced within the barrel from an engagement position to a release position. The engagement position is configured to provide a compression seal between a storage sealing section of the plunger and an inner wall of the syringe barrel. In the release position, the compression seal is reduced or eliminated. Also disclosed are methods for making convertible plungers and as assembling them into syringes, e.g., pre-filled syringes.

IMPROVED COMPONENTS OF A FLUID TRANSFER APPARATUS

Described are improvements to components of fluid transfer apparatuses comprising a first component, e.g. a syringe, a connector component configured to connect between the first component and an adapter component that is configured to allow connection of the connector component to a second component of the drug transfer apparatus, e.g. to a drug vial. The improvements include inter alia changes to the sealing elements that seal the proximal end of the syringe, redesign of a septum holder inside the connector component and corresponding redesign of the housing of the connector component; changes to the structure of the end of the connector component that connects to the first component to allow the first component to swivel relative to the connector component; and changes to the design of the adapter component to a second component of the drug transfer apparatus to allow it to mate with the redesigned housing of the connector component.

Gasket for pre-filled syringe

The present invention provides a gasket for prefilled syringes having both airtightness and operability. The present invention relates to a gasket for prefilled syringes, the gasket including a plurality of circular ribs that are to be in sliding contact with the inner wall of a syringe, the gasket being laminated with an inert film, the plurality of circular ribs including a front circular rib having a front corner with a radius of curvature R1 and a rear corner with a radius of curvature R2, a ratio of the radius of curvature R2 to the radius of curvature R1 being more than 1.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR STORING AND MIXING BONE CEMENT

One aspect relates to a device for mixing a polymethyl methacrylate bone cement formed of two starting components and for storing the starting components of the bone cement. The device has a tubular cartridge with a cylindrical interior. A powder is contained in a front of the cartridge and a container containing a monomer liquid is arranged in a rear of the cartridge. A discharge piston is arranged between the container and the powder, and a conveying piston is on the side of the container opposite the discharge piston. The discharge piston and the conveying piston are arranged in the interior of the cartridge movably in the longitudinal direction. A conduit is provided that connects the front part and the rear part of the interior of the cartridge to one another in a manner permeable for the monomer liquid and for gases and which is impermeable for the powder.

The present invention provides a gasket excellent in properties such as sliding properties and resistance to liquid leakage. The present invention relates to a gasket having at least two annular projections and at least one annular valley on its sliding surface, the sliding surface being at least partially provided with immobilized polymer chains, the annular projections including a first projection nearest to the top surface and any other projection, the outer diameters of the other projection and the annular valley being in the range of 94 to 98% and 85 to 92%, respectively, with respect to the outer diameter of the first projection taken as 100%.

SINGLE-HEAD POWER INJECTOR WITH CONTRAST MEDIA LEAKAGE MANAGEMENT

A power injector (200) is disclosed that includes a number of features to address leakage of contrast media from a syringe that may occur while operating the power injector (200), for instance when loading fluid into a syringe after being installed on a powerhead (210) of the injector (200) and/or when purging air from such a syringe. One or more drainage channels (240) may be incorporated on a faceplate mounting (234) which in turn receives a faceplate (310), which in turn receives a syringe. A cover assembly (260) may utilize a form-in-place gasket (274) between its top cover (262) and its bottom cover (290). A bezel (330) includes an overlay (334) that is disposed over a touch screen display (380) that is aligned with a display aperture (264) through the top cover (262), and the bezel (330) may include a gasket (350) to seal against the top cover (262).

Syringe and gasket systems

A process for producing gaskets with an improved channel for use in matched syringe and plunger systems, preferably prefilled plastic syringe systems. In particular, an improved process for making and inspecting continuous channels in a gasket film by laser treatment. The gaskets are useful in matched syringe and plunger systems with high and consistent container closure integrity (CCI), and consistent break loose and glide forces over time, and sealability.
