MEDICAL TUBE SECUREMENT DEVICE
Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for securing a tube to a tube insertion site. An apparatus for a medical tube securement device includes a base member and a clamp member. The base member includes a first tab portion, a second tab portion, and an opening for receiving a tube. The opening is located substantially between the first tab portion and the second tab portion. A clamp member secures the tube within the opening to prevent the tube from moving while the base member is attached to a person and the tube is located at a tube insertion site on the person.
Negative Pressure Therapy System
Negative pressure therapy systems are provided for increasing urine production, the negative pressure therapy system including: (a) a pump assembly, the pump assembly including: (i) a pump configured to provide negative pressure to a kidney, and (ii) a controller configured to regulate the negative pressure provided by the pump within a pressure range that facilitates increased urine production from the kidney.
DEVICE FOR ATTACHING A CATHETER
A medical device for fixing a catheter to a patient is disclosed. It includes a base having a planar main development, a first face configured to be glued to a patient's skin, a second face, opposite to the first face, adapted to receive a catheter according to an axis of insertion of the catheter, and at least two pegs which rise substantially perpendicular to the second face. Each peg has a stem which rises from the second face and has a cross section suitable to freely pass through a through hole of a fin of a catheter. The peg also has an enlarged free terminal end having a cross section greater than the cross section of the stem so that it cannot freely pass through the through hole. The enlarged terminal end is able to pass through the through hole only by elastically widening the through hole.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR TROCAR PLACEMENT
A method and device for placing and/or retaining medical devices on an animal or subject is provided that may include an anchoring device having a body with a channel or aperture through which a medical device may pass and be reversibly retained at given degrees of insertion, a retaining mechanism for controlling the release or retention of the medical device in the channel or aperture, and an attachment feature for attaching the anchoring device to an animal or subject (e.g. onto the skin of a human). The anchoring device may be attached to a subject, such as over the site of an incision or other point of access to the interior of the subject, and a medical device may be inserted into the interior via the channel or aperture in the body of the anchoring device and retained by action of the retention mechanism.
ANCHOR INSTRUMENTATION AND METHODS
Some embodiments of a medical device anchor system includes an anchor sleeve and a catheter (or other medical instrument) to advance though a working channel of the anchor sleeve. The anchor sleeve may have a subcutaneous cuff device arranged along an outer surface. In such circumstances, the embedded cuff device can inhibit the migration of infection from outside the skin and into the blood stream.
INTRAVENOUS IN FUSION SET AND ACCESSORY THEREFOR
This invention relates to an intravenous infusion set and accessory for an intravenous infusion. There is provided an accessory for securing an intravenous infusion set to at least part of a user’s forearm arm including primary engagement means (2) for engaging the accessory to a portion of a main intravenous line (3) and secondary engagement means 5 for simultaneously engaging the intravenous line (3) to another portion along the line (3). The primary engagement means (2) is displaceable along the line 3 such the position of the accessory (1) may be adjusted along the length of the line (3) and encloses the periphery of the line (3). The primary (2) and secondary (5) engagement means are proximate such that, operatively, when the secondary engagement means (5) engages the line (3), the line (3) forms a loop (6) which may be positioned to engage at least part of the user’s forearm.
Ureteral and bladder catheters and methods of inducing negative pressure to increase renal perfusion
A ureteral catheter is provided, including a drainage lumen including a proximal portion and a distal portion configured to be positioned in a patient's kidney, renal pelvis, and/or in the ureter adjacent to the renal pelvis, the distal portion including a retention portion for maintaining positioning of the distal portion of the drainage lumen, the retention portion including at least two openings on a sidewall of the retention portion for permitting fluid flow into the drainage lumen wherein a total area of a proximal most opening of the at least two openings is less than a total area of more distal opening(s) nearer to the distal end of the drainage lumen, and wherein when negative pressure is applied through the ureteral catheter, fluid is drawn into the ureteral catheter through the at least two openings.
Medical device anchoring
An apparatus for fastening around a cranial burr hole includes a substantially flat core and a shell encapsulating a ring portion of the core. The shell defines an orifice substantially centered within the ring portion, and has a contoured lower surface to match the cranial curvature. Pliable arms of the core extend laterally from the ring portion, each being terminated by a fastener member. A central portion of a placement tool for the apparatus has a lower part configured to extend through the apparatus orifice, and an upper part from which first and second arms of the tool extend laterally. Each tool arm is terminated with a receptacle to hold a bone screw, and, when the tool central portion lower part extends through the apparatus orifice, each receptacle aligns with a corresponding fastener member, and lower openings of the receptacles are generally oriented along the contoured lower surface.
BI-DIRECTIONAL ACCESS TO TUMORS
An apparatus for guiding the migration of cancer and other cells includes a reservoir device, a cover, a tube, a nanofiber structure, and a lock device. The reservoir device defines a reservoir having an open top. The cover is configured for removable installation over the open top of the reservoir. The tube has a proximal end portion reaching into the reservoir. The nanofiber structure communicates an inlet port in the tube with the reservoir. The lock device interlocks the tube with the reservoir device, and also interlocks the nanofiber structure with the reservoir device.
Medical tubing organizer
A medical tubing organizer includes a base defining a longitudinal direction, a lateral direction being defined as substantially orthogonal to the longitudinal direction, and a vertical direction being defined as substantially orthogonal to the longitudinal and lateral directions. A tube retainer is positioned on a top of the base and configured to receive a medical tube that extends along the lateral direction. The tube retainer is further configured to adjust between a free flow state and a retention state, wherein, in the free flow state, the tube retainer is configured to enable movement of the medical tube in the lateral direction and resist movement in the longitudinal direction, and in the retention state, the tube retainer is configured to resist movement in the lateral, longitudinal, and vertical directions. A connector is positioned on the base for selectively coupling the medical tubing organizer to a structure.
