Securement dressing for vascular access device with skin adhesive application window
Catheter securement dressings that aid in applying skin adhesive to a catheter insertion site are described. Catheter securement dressings can include a first dressing layer that secures a position of a catheter at a catheter insertion site following catheterization. The first dressing layer can include an access window that provides access to the catheter insertion site to allow for application of skin adhesive to the catheter insertion site. After the skin adhesive has dried, a second dressing layer can be folded over the first dressing layer to cover the access window.
DRESSING-BASED TRACTION DEVICE AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A catheter assembly may include a catheter adapter, a catheter, and a dressing to securely apply traction to the catheter where the catheter is disposed within a vasculature of a patient. The catheter adapter may include a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending therebetween. The catheter may extend from the distal end of the catheter adapter. The dressing may include a first section adjustably coupled to a second section. The first section may be configured to secure the catheter adapter and/or the catheter to the patient. The second section may be configured to be adjustably positioned relative to the first section to apply traction to the catheter within the vasculature.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROTECTING UMBILICAL STUMPS
A device for protecting an umbilical stump-catheter interface, includes: a shield having a wall that defines a cavity for accommodating an umbilical stump, wherein the shield further includes a base for attachment to a patient; and an opening at the shield for allowing an umbilical catheter to extend therethrough. A method for protecting an umbilical stump-catheter interface, includes: providing a device having a shield with a wall that defines a cavity for accommodating an umbilical stump, wherein the shield further includes a base for attachment to a patient, and wherein the device further includes an opening at the shield; shielding the umbilical stump from an environment using the shield; and accommodating an umbilical catheter using the opening at the shield.
SECUREMENT DRESSING WITH CONFORMAL BORDER
Medical dressings having flexible and conformable borders when attached to skin and devices such as, e.g., catheters, etc. to facilitate strong adhesive securement of the medical dressings to skin over extended periods of time. The medical dressings include a relatively low modulus backing layer paired with a relatively high modulus support material the backing layer, and a tubing slot configured to, e.g., stabilize a catheter other tubing on the skin of a patient. The backing layer may extend outwardly from the support material over a substantial majority of the perimeter of the medical dressing to form a border of adhesive material with elasticity to resist lifting from a patients skin.
PASSIVE INJECTION DEVICE WITH AUTOMATIC SECURING MEANS
Disclosed is an injection device of the type including a cylindrical body enclosing a reservoir containing a product to be injected, which is slidably mounted in the body, which is open at one end on an injection needle and is closed at its other end by a plunger mounted movable in translation in the reservoir under the action of a plunger rod provided with a control member, the surface of the distal end of the body being coated with adhesive capable of ensuring that this surface is held on the skin of a patient. This device is characterized in that it includes a mechanism for securing the needle, the activation of which is ensured by the adhesive when a withdrawal effort is exerted on the injection device.
Blood filtration systems
A blood filtration system can reduce the amount of plasma constituents (e.g., water and/or electrolytes) in the blood of the patient, and accordingly increase the hematocrit value of the patient. The blood filtration system (e.g., a controller, or the like) can determine a hematocrit value of a patient. The blood filtration system can determine a venous pressure of vasculature of a patient. The blood filtration system can compensate for pressure head in a component of a blood circuit (e.g., a withdrawal line of a catheter), for example to improve the accuracy of the venous pressure determination. The blood filtration system can determine one or more resistance characteristics of a blood circuit for the blood filtration system. The resistance characteristics can correspond to a resistance to a flow of blood through a component of the blood circuit.
PATIENT TUBE SECUREMENT APPARATUS FOR SECURING A PATIENT TUBE TO A PATIENT
A patient tube securement apparatus is disclosed that may be used for oral or nasal intubation of a patient.
The apparatus may comprise an endotracheal tube securement apparatus for securing an endotracheal tube to a patient, the apparatus comprising a dermal patch arranged to be positioned on the skin of the patient, and at least one tube holder on the dermal patch.
The apparatus may comprise a patient tube securement apparatus for securing a patient tube to a patient, the apparatus comprising a dermal patch arranged to be positioned on the skin of the patient, and at least one tube holder on the dermal patch.
Examples are provided in which the tube holder is adjustably mounted on the dermal patch such that the position of the tube holder on the dermal patch can be adjusted without removing the dermal patch from the skin of the patient.
External catheter stabilizer
An external catheter stabilizer device for stabilizing and retaining a catheter tube includes a base portion configured to adhesively attach at a patient, a retaining element configured to retain a catheter tube thereat, and a pivot element that pivotally attaches the retaining element to the base portion so as to allow for pivotal movement of the retaining element about a pivot axis generally normal to the patient where the base portion is attached. The retaining element includes a guide pin protruding therefrom and spaced from the pivot element. Pivotal movement of the retaining element relative to the base portion is limited to a selected range via engagement of the guide pin of the retaining element with an arcuate slot at the base portion.
Interlocking Low Profile Gripping Device
A low profile gripping device having a locking assembly attached to a base, wherein the locking assembly comprises a locking strap with pairs of fins disposed for insertion into an aperture of a buckle. The locking assembly comprises an offset anchor block having opposing sides, the locking strap attached to one side, and the buckle attached to the opposing side. The interface between the locking strap and the anchor block forms a groove for seating a flexible polymer tube or polymer coated cable. The groove is located above the base such that the seated tube or cable is substantially centered above the base. The locking strap is inserted through the aperture to secure the tube or cable in the groove, and the fins retain the locking strap in fixed relation to the buckle.
SECONDARY DEVICE HOLDER AND COMPRESSION SYSTEM, METHOD OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
A device that holds a radial sheath, catheter or similar structure in place during surgical procedures. The device has a strap configured to fit around a patient's wrist and a two-part section that includes a sheath holder or clamp. The clamp is configured to accept a free end of the sheath or other device and to allow the physician access to the open end of that sheath so that they can insert instruments through it. The second section contains a compression device that, when positioned over the puncture site, can be expanded such that it provides pressure and patent hemostasis to the site to stop bleeding. Adhesive surfaces with peel away releasable liners on one or more surfaces of the device allow the flap featuring the compression balloon to be folded over onto the flap containing the sheath clamp and hold it in place.
