Power tool

A power tool (1; 90) includes a motor (17) having a stator (18) and a rotor (19). The stator (18) includes front and rear insulators (21, 22) respectively disposed forward and rearward of a stator core (20) in an axial direction thereof. At least six coils (23) are respectively wound on the stator (18) such that the coils (23) are wound through the front and rear insulators (21, 22). Winding wires (23a) respectively electrically connect circumferentially-adjacent pairs of the coils (23). A short circuiting device (25) short circuits respective pairs of windings (23a) that are located diagonally or diametrically across from one another.

A stator includes a cylindrical shaft extending in an axial direction, annular portions positioned side by side in the axial direction radially outside the shaft and extending in a radial direction, pole teeth extending in the axial direction from a radially outer end portion of each of the annular portions, and one or more coils between the annular portions adjacent to each other in the axial direction and wound around the shaft. The shaft includes at least one slit recessed radially inward from an outer peripheral surface of the shaft and extending along the axial direction. A portion of the at least one slit is radially inside the annular portion. A lead wire of the coil is accommodated in the at least one slit.

An element-side connection terminal (40) extending from a power conversion circuit unit (16) includes a first connection terminal portion (40A) that extends in a direction intersecting a direction of extension of a counterpart-side connection terminal (38); and a second connection terminal portion (40B) that is bent at a point before the first connection terminal portion (40A) reaches the counterpart-side connection terminal (38) in a direction to intersect the direction of extension of the counterpart-side connection terminal (38) such that the second connection terminal portion (40B) is provided with elasticity and is in an elastic contact with the counterpart-side connection terminal (38) at an angle. A tip end side (38T) of the counterpart-side connection terminal (38) and a tip end side (40T) of the second connection terminal portion (40B) are electrically joined.

The resin portion covers an inner wall surface of a slot of the plurality of slots. The resin portion protrudes outward relative to an end surface of the stack in a height direction of the stack. The resin portion is formed on at least a part of an end surface of the tooth portion so as to extend from the inner wall surface of the slot around the end surface of the tooth portion. A resin end portion of the resin portion is disposed on the end surface of the stack and a corner of the resin end portion is formed as an inclined surface including a planar surface or curved surface.

The base portion of a first busbar is in a first plane and the base portion of a second busbar is in a second plane. The base portion of the first busbar extends clockwise from the terminal of the first busbar and the base portion of the second busbar extends counterclockwise from the terminal of the second busbar. Terminals of the first and second busbars are spaced apart with the terminal of the third busbar between the first and third terminals. The third busbar includes a first region extending clockwise from its terminal and lying in the second plane and a second region extending counterclockwise from its terminal and lying in the first plane.

The stator winding includes segment conductors held in the slots. The slots extending outward in a radial direction from an inner peripheral surface of the stator core. The slots include first and second slots. The second slot is shallower than the first slot. The segment conductors include a segment conductor including a first rectilinear portion held in the first slot, a second rectilinear portion held in the second slot, and a coupler coupling the first rectilinear portion and the second rectilinear portion to each other. The first rectilinear portion and the second rectilinear portion protrude from an end surface of the stator core.

A stator of an electric motor has a number of radially directed stator teeth, onto each of which an insulating coil carrier for a coil of a multiphase rotating field winding is or can be placed. The stator teeth are connected to one another on the outer circumference on a yoke side, forming stator grooves. On the inner circumference, on a pole shoe side, a groove gap is respectively formed between adjacent stator teeth. Stiffening is provided on the inner circumference on the pole shoe side of the stator teeth, in the form of a stiffening element that projects into the or each groove gap.
