STORAGE CASE
A storage case accommodates a plurality of medical elongated bodies, which are assembled when used, and includes a plurality of pipe bodies wound to form a ring-like shape that are connected to each other in order to accommodate each of the medical elongated bodies, and a package case that collectively accommodates the plurality of connected pipe bodies. At least two of the pipe bodies are disposed side by side so as to overlap each other in a state in which the center axes of winding are deviated, and the pipe bodies have opening portions arranged so that the medical elongated bodies can be assembled within the storage case using no more than two hands.
Dry powder inhaler and system for drug delivery
A breath-powered, dry powder inhaler, a cartridge, and a pulmonary drug delivery system are provided. The dry powder inhaler can be provided with or without a unit dose cartridge for using with the inhaler. The inhaler and/or cartridge can be provided with a drug delivery formulation comprising, for example, a diketopiperazine and an active ingredient, including, peptides and proteins such as insulin, oxyntomodulin and glucagon-like peptide.
Pre-filled syringe identification tag
An assembly includes a pre-filled syringe including a barrel with a first end and a second, open end, a plunger disposed within the barrel and spaced between the first end and the second, open end, a product disposed in the barrel between the first end of the barrel and the plunger, and an outwardly-directed rim disposed about the barrel at the second, open end. In addition, the assembly includes an identification tag secured to the outwardly-directed rim of the barrel of the syringe with an outwardly-facing surface of the tag overlying the second, open end of the barrel, the tag having an identifier disposed on the surface of the tag, the identifier including data regarding the pre-filled syringe, the product disposed in the barrel, or both.
Infusion line systems
An IV-line identification system to enable ready identification of an IV line and its associated fluid source and output from other IV lines with their fluid sources and outputs. The IV-line identification system includes an optical member affixed along a longitudinal length of an elongated member that transmits light when a light source provides a light to the optical member.
A SYRINGE SHOCK ABSORBER FOR USE IN AN INJECTION DEVICE
For use in an injection device, e.g., an auto-injector of any type, a sleeve which holds the medicament chamber is sufficiently deformable that it functions as a shock absorbing member to distribute the force exerted on the medicament chamber during use of the injection device.
Supplemental device for use with an injection device, a method of operation thereof, and a computer program for controlling a supplemental device to perform the method
A supplemental device for use with an injection device, the supplemental device comprising: a plurality of light sources each being configured to illuminate a surface portion of an injection device, in use, with light of a different wavelength; at least one sensor for generating sensor outputs indicative of the respective intensities of light of different wavelengths reflected from the surface portion; and a processor for: controlling the plurality of light sources to illuminate the surface portion with light of first to third different wavelengths; obtaining first to third values for sensor outputs corresponding to the first to third different wavelengths respectively; performing one or more calculations using at least the first and second values to provide one or more further values; and using the third value and the or each further value, but not the first and second values, to determine a property of the injection device.
AUTOMATIC MEDICATION INJECTION DEVICE WITH VISIBLE INDICATION OF INJECTING PROGRESS
An automatic medication injection device (20) including injecting progress indicators (82-85) visible along a periphery of the device housing (23). The injecting progress indicators include a flag element (100) which is movable as a drive mechanism (60) of the device advances a sealing plunger (58) within a container of medication (50). The injecting progress indicators are configured to indicate sequentially during a single injection as the flag element moves to cooperatively complete different injecting progress indicators at different times during the single injection, whereby injecting progress of the injection may be monitored by a user.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR ASPECTS OF A DOSE DETECTION SYSTEM MODULE FOR A MEDICATION DELIVERY DEVICE
The techniques described herein relate to computerized methods and systems of at least one of for generating a single light indication pattern via LEDs for a dose detection system, such as for example, based on a use case type and a battery life status type. The use case types may include pairing, manual synching, and/or dose injection, and the battery life status types may include 1 to 3 different states. Another method and system are for reducing drainage of a battery for a dose detection system by monitoring the continuous activation of the power-on module, and/or alerting the user in a manner for the user to take action. At least some of the information obtained from these techniques may be communicated to a paired remote electronic device, such as a user's smartphone.
METHOD FOR SETTING UP A FLUID PROCESSING MEDICAL APPARATUS
A method for setting-up a fluid processing medical apparatus, the method includes: a) positioning a disposable component intended to be used for therapy with the fluid processing medical apparatus relative to a reader unit by a user; b) reading component related information provided on the disposable component by the reader unit; c) matching the read component related information with component related data stored in a database; and d) providing a selection of suitable therapies for the disposable component to the user based on the matching.
Drug delivery management systems and methods
Various embodiments of a “smart” drug delivery pen are provided which include a drug delivery pen having an inertial sensor or accelerometer. A system is also provided that includes the smart drug pen in conjunction with a data management unit(s) DMU. Various exemplary methods for use of the pens and systems are also described and illustrated.
