The electrolytic gas generation device is used to generate a first gas and a second gas. The delivery device is in fluid communication with the electrolytic gas generation device, and is used to transport a medical gas. The medical gas includes at least one of the first gas and the second gas. The control unit is electrically connected with the electrolytic gas generation device and the delivery device, so as to control a component ratio of the medical gas.
CATHETER SYSTEM WITH PRESSURE MANAGEMENT DEVICE
A system includes a catheter and a pressure management device. The catheter includes a cuff, a resilient device, an evacuation passage, and a first fitting. The cuff defines a chamber, and has a deflated state and an inflated state. The resilient device is positioned in the chamber, and has a compressed state and an expanded state. The resilient device is configured to expand from the compressed state to the expanded state to thereby cause the cuff to move from the deflated state to the inflated state. The evacuation passage extends from the cuff to an evacuation port. The first fitting is in fluid communication with the chamber. The pressure management device includes a second fitting engaged with the first fitting, and at least one check valve in fluid communication with the second fitting. In certain embodiments, the at least one check valve includes an inlet check valve in fluid communication with the second fitting, and an outlet check valve in fluid communication with the second fitting.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECTAL ANAESTHESIA
A system and method for delivering a medicament to a target tissue site in a patient over a period of time. A catheter is configured for implantation in different target tissue sites and extends from a proximal end to a distal end and has a sidewall which defines an internal lumen. The distal end has one or more apertures either in the sidewall or at a distal end for the release of the medicament into the target tissue site; the system also comprises a medicament reservoir fluidly communicable with the internal lumen of each catheter, an adhesive member configured to adhere to the skin of the patient around the exit wound and having an opening therein to allow the catheters to pass through the adhesive member and a retaining member configured to be overlaid on the adhesive member and comprising a guide surface configured to receive a length of the two or more catheters and a plurality of retaining portions to retain the catheters against the guide surface.
Wearable micropump for therapeutic drug delivery
The present disclosure describes a system for the delivery of therapeutic substances to the cavities of a patient. The system can include a wearable micropump that is fluidically coupled with a handpiece. The handpiece can be inserted, for example, into the middle ear via a surgical tympanotomy approach. The system can enable a controlled injection of a therapeutic substance directly into the patient's cavity.
SURGICAL STAPLER APPARATUS AND METHOD
A surgical stapler apparatus or assembly comprises a surgical stapler device having an internal channel extending from a stapler actuating handle to a stapler head of the device and a gas insufflation device having a pressurized gas supply connected to the internal channel of the stapler device via an inlet port at a handle portion intersecting with the channel in order to supply pressurized gas to the channel as the stapler shaft is inserted into the lumen of a colon, rectum or the like. Pressurized gas travels along the channel and out of the stapler head at the distal end of the stapler device in order to inflate the lumen ahead of the advancing stapler head, easing insertion.
FLUID REMOVAL DEVICE
A body cavity fluid removal device includes a shaft having a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and an opening at the first end. A handle has a compressible body defining an interior volume. The handle is removably coupleable to the second end of the shaft. The handle is configured for inducing a suction force at the opening of the shaft.
Device for treatment of a body canal and adjacent surfaces
A device (10,210) for treatment of a canal associated with an orifice includes a flexible stem portion (20, 220) adapted for insertion along the canal and having an expandable member (24, 224) carried by the stem portion (20, 220) at or adjacent the distal end. The expandable member (24, 224) is for occlusion of an inner end region of the canal. A cap (40, 240, 340) mounted on the stem portion (20, 220), configured as a receptacle (42, 242), to close an outer end of the canal and to accommodate the surface(s) about the outer end of the canal. The cap (40, 240) thereby de-fines with the expandable member (24, 224), a treatment zone, wherein the receptacle (42, 242) is adapted to receive and store treatment fluid for contact with the surface(s) about the outer end of the canal.
Lower body cavity treatment methods and devices using carbon dioxide and saline
A method of treatment for mixed carbon dioxide, carbonic acid, saline and optional active additives for treating lower body cavity ailments includes delivery of dosage of the treatment at specified flow rates, using a) main housing having a hollow central area containing the dosage; b) a dosage dispenser head located at the distal end of the main housing, and having at least one flow channel for movement of the dosage from the main housing through the dosage dispenser head and to external of the dosage dispenser head; c) a dosage release control component located between the main housing and the dosage dispenser head to permit flow of the dosage through the dosage dispenser head in response to increased pressure against the dosage; and d) a pressure-changing moveable component on the main housing.
RECTAL DRAIN APPLIANCE
A rectal drainage appliance is disclosed comprising a tubular element having an inflatable balloon at a distal end for anchoring the appliance in the rectum. The appliance includes one or more of: (i) first and second auxiliary lumens communicating with the inflatable balloon to provide independent inflation and pressure monitoring paths coupled to the balloon; (ii) a pressure state indicator defined by a mechanical element configured to flip between first and second states or shapes responsive to sensed pressure; and (iii) a collapsible auxiliary lumen larger than the inflation lumen, and configured to permit admission of irrigation fluid. The pressure state indicator may also be used in intestinal drains.
