CLOSED SYSTEM FOR AS FAR AS POSSIBLE ODOUR-NEUTRAL DELIVERY AND/OR DISCHARGE OF ODOUR-INTENSIVE SUBSTANCES TO/FROM THE BODY OF A PATIENT
The invention is directed to a catheter-like system which dwells temporarily or even continuously in the body of a patient and which serves for the closed delivery and/or discharge of odour-intensive substances, wherein the release of foul-smelling substances is reduced to the greatest possible extent by the system wall having a multi-layer structure that incorporates a proportion of barrier materials, and an odour-neutral decompression of gaseous fractions arising in the body and discharged into the system is ensured. The system comprises in particular a structure like a tubular film, by which an internal space to be reached in the body is connected to a container, arranged outside the body, for receiving the respective substances that are to be delivered and/or discharged. At the end positioned inside the body, the tube structure is provided with a retaining and/or sealing balloon element, which secures the system in the body. All of the film-based constituent parts of the system that are arranged outside the body, including the film-like delivering and/or discharging tube structure and the container preferably configured in the form of a bag, incorporate at least one barrier-producing layer of ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH), polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC) and/or polyamide (PA), which is combined with at least one carrier layer made of a robust, mechanically loadable, preferably elastic material, for example polyurethane (PUR). The system moreover ensures a continuous decompression of gaseous constituents from the internal space of the system, by a degassing device which is arranged in a particular manner relative to the delivering and/or discharging lumen and by which the adsorbing or filtering, degassing unit is protected against direct exposure to the substances that are to be delivered and/or discharged.
CLEANING INSTRUMENT FOR LARGE INTESTINE
Disclosed is a colonic irrigator capable of cleansing the inside of the large intestine and removing impacted feces remaining inside the large intestine by spraying a cleansing solution into the large intestine. The colonic irrigator includes a cleansing body 10 having a laid down egg shape, having a spray hole 12 formed at a lifted portion 11 provided on the upper part thereof and having a cleansing solution channel 13 formed therein to communicate with the spray hole 12, and a connector 20 which has a screw part 21 formed at one side thereof so as to be connected to a shower hose 40, is bent at 90 degrees such that the other side is connected to the lower part of the cleansing body 10, and has a cleansing solution channel 23 formed therein to communicate with the cleansing solution channel 13 of the cleansing body 10, where the cleansing body 10 and the connector 20 are integrated.
Wash, clean and dry system with removable spray canister device
A method and a wash, clean and dry system are provided for washing, cleaning and drying a surface region of a human body. The system includes a toilet seat assembly with a bidet assembly having a spray canister device for spraying the surface region with a solution, such as a skin protecting barrier solution, a cleaning solution or a medicated solution. In one aspect, the spray canister device can be movably insert into and out of the toilet seat assembly and is easy to operate and use. In addition, the bidet assembly further includes a spray nozzle assembly and a drying nozzle assembly, which are adapted to wash, clean and dry the region of the human body in three dimensional moments. The removable spray canister device with the removable sleeved cover element is thus easy to carry and be re-filled with new solutions.
FLEXIBLE DOUBLE LUMEN TUBE AND A TUBE COUPLING SYSTEM FOR SAME
A tube coupling component (4;6) serves for use in a tube coupling system and an irrigation system. The tube coupling component (4;6) comprises a male coupling part (12) opposite a respective female coupling part (11), or a first end fitting (33) opposite a respective second end fitting (34), which tube coupling component (4;6) has an interior pipe (13;31) that extends axially inside an exterior pipe (14;32), wherein the interior pipe (13;31) and the exterior pipe (14;32) are concentric.
Valved enteral administration assembly
An enteral administration assembly for administering fluids through an enteral device. The administration assembly comprising an inlet, an outlet, and a valve mechanism between the inlet and outlet. The inlet is configured to interlock with only an enteral device to form a sealed connection allowing the passage of fluid between the enteral device and the inlet. The assembly may include a valve or turbulating mechanism comprising a valve and at least one turbulator adapted to change the direction of fluid flowing through the assembly to prevent clogging and flocculation of administered substances.
AN IRRIGATION SYSTEM CONTAINER
A system for anal irrigation is provided. The system includes a container, an anal probe, tubes and an electrical pump. The container has two configurations, a first collapsed configuration and a second expanded configuration. In the first configuration, a cavity for storing tubes and the anal probe is provided. In the second configuration, the container has a cavity for containing irrigation liquid. The pump and valves is stored in a cavity towards the bottom of the container.
FECAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Fecal management methods and apparatuses (e.g., devices, systems, etc.) are described herein. The fecal management apparatuses may apply one or more fecal removal cycles of suction and irrigation (and in some examples air) to actively remove fecal material. The apparatus may control the timing of delivery of the fecal removal cycles as well as the parameters of the applied suction, irrigation and/or air within and between fecal removal cycles.
Device for stool drainage
A device for sealing a colon, and for removing stool therefrom by irrigation, comprising an expandable intrarectal balloon segment formed from an everted tube with two ends, for insertion into the rectum to anchor the device, and a tapered transanal segment adapted to remain at least partially outside the rectum during use, wherein the balloon segment and the transanal segment have no common compartment, wherein both segments comprise drainage parts with a drainage lumen for irrigation of stool from the patient, wherein one of the two ends of the everted tube is passed through the lumen of the intrarectal balloon segment as an inner layer, the inner layer being in contact with a funnel element, and wherein the transanal segment is adapted to collapse upon resting of the sphincter, and comprises part of the intrarectal balloon segment, or a different balloon element.
LUMINAL OXYGEN DELIVERY AND DEVICE FOR TREATING DISEASES AND CONDITIONS ASSOCIATED WITH STRICT ANAEROBIC MICROORGANISMS
This disclosure relates to methods and apparatus for treating diseases and conditions of the colon and alimentary canal which are associated with obligate anaerobic microorganisms, and particularly, for treating Clostridioides difficile infection. The method and apparatus provide for continuous administration of intraluminal oxygen to the rectum, colon, and cecum to maintain oxygen in those environments at levels toxic to obligate anaerobic microorganisms such as Clostridioides difficile.
