An anal irrigation kit provides an improved approach for emptying a bowel by instilling irrigation liquid and stimulating the rectal wall simultaneously. The anal irrigation kit includes an irrigation liquid reservoir, a hand pump, and a soft flow manifold, which can be folded for insertion into a rectum.

Aspects of the present invention provide a method for using an apparatus to deliver medicine and to wash, clean, and dry a region of a human body. Systems and methods for reducing pathogens near an implant are discussed. In some cases, the methods include reducing contaminants in a portion of a patient that has an implant and that is disposed interior to a closed surface of skin of the patient. The method can further include placing a conduit in the closed surface of skin and flowing an antimicrobial fluid into that portion of the patient to contact the antimicrobial fluid with a surface of the implant and tissue adjacent to the implant. In some cases, the antimicrobial fluid is then removed from the portion of the patient having the implant. As part of this method, biofilm near the implant can be mechanically, ultrasonically, electrically, chemically, enzymatically, or otherwise disrupted. Other implementations are described.

An irrigation system, for irrigation of a hollow body organ, comprises a reusable part and a disposable part. The reusable part comprises a liquid container with a first opening and a first connection interface. The disposable part comprises a protective cover comprising a tubular part, a one-way valve in the tubular part, and a protective skirt connected to and encircling the tubular part. The tubular part is provided with a second connection interface which is releasably connectable to the first connection interface.

This invention relates to apparatus used to alter the temperature and humidity of gases. The apparatus of the present invention comprises an insufflator, humidifier and transportation means connected to delivery means to deliver humidified and heated gases to a body cavity prior to and during a medical procedure. In one form of the present invention the insufflator and humidifier are contained in the one housing, while in another form the humidifier is located proximal and external to the insufflator. The transportation means that delivers the humidified gases to the body cavity comprises a flexible tubing having located within, throughout or around it heating means. The heating means may be a heat conductive wire, a ribbon of PTC material, or a conducting wire extruded into the walls of tubing, where the tubing may be made from a PTC material or flexible plastics.
