10951511 · 2021-03-16 · ·

The invention provides a provision method performed by a managed device (CPE4) of a first network (R1) to provide an address to a management device (ACS4) for managing the managed device and situated in a second network (R2), the address enabling the management device to request the establishment of a management session with the managed device, there being at least one intermediate device (CGN5) situated between the first and second networks, the method comprising: identifying a server (6) suitable for controlling the intermediate device; sending a request to the server to cause the intermediate device to set up static routing to the managed device to enable packets received by the intermediate device and addressed to a reachability address associated by the intermediate device with the managed device to be conveyed to a contact address of the managed device; receiving a response from the server including the reachability address; and providing the management device with an address including the reachability address for use by the management device to request the setting up of a management session with the managed device.

Managing Power Consumption of a Network

Examples provided herein describe a method for managing power consumption of a network. For example, a network device may monitor a set of network area zones of a network coverage area, where each network area zone is associated with a set of edge devices. A first occupancy state may be determined for a first network area zone of the set of network area zones based on usage of a first set of edge devices of the first network area zone. Based on the determined first occupancy state, a first power consumption policy for the first network area zone may be determined. Responsive to determining the first power consumption policy, the determined first power consumption policy may be applied to the first set of edge devices in the first network area zone at least edge changing a power consumption mode of a first edge device in the first set of edge devices.

System and method of unifying and deploying a microservice-based application platform

A system and method is provided for unifying and deploying a microservice-based application platform that includes multiple independent service containers. An exemplary method includes analyzing, on a hardware node, infrastructure services to identify those infrastructure services that are configurable to be launched as microservices; configuring the identified infrastructure services to be launched as microservices by creating an image of an infrastructure microservice container for each identified infrastructure services; building an application platform by defining a minimum set of the infrastructure microservice containers required by the application platform to provide the one or more client microservice; and unifying management of the infrastructure microservice containers and the client microservices of the application platform by classifying each of the created infrastructure microservice containers and the client microservice container to be managed by a single management software layer.

The present disclosure relates to a pre-5.sup.th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates beyond 4.sup.th-Generation (4G) communication system such as long-term evolution (LTE).

The disclosure relates to an apparatus for resource adjustment in a cloud system, and a method for operating the apparatus. The method includes receiving status information indicating operation performance for a management or control plane (MCP) and one or more user workloads or applications (UWAs) in a host server. The method also includes determining an action related to the resource adjustment based on the status information. The method further includes performing, for the MCP and the one or more UWAs, the action related to the determined resource adjustment.

INTER-DATA CENTER SOFTWARE-DEFINED NETWORK CONTROLLER NETWORK

Techniques are disclosed for providing a Software Defined Networking (SDN) controller with real-time or near-real time visibility of the operation of data center fabrics to determine whether the DCI was properly configured. For example, an SDN controller receives high-level configuration data that describes a desired state of a network managed by the SDN controller at a high level of abstraction. The SDN controller applies a transformation function to the high-level configuration data to generate a low-level configuration data for network devices configured to implement the desired state of the network. SDN controller configures the SDN controller as a peer to the network devices to obtain one or more routes exchanged between the network devices. The SDN controller sends the low-level configuration data to the network devices to cause the network devices to implement the desired state of the network.

Embodiments of the disclosure disclose a policy transmission method and apparatus in an NFV system. The method may include: obtaining, by a PMF unit, policy information, where the policy information includes a policy rule and a first policy parameter, and the first policy parameter is used to determine a target management unit for the policy rule in a MANO architecture of the NFV system; and transmitting, by the PMF unit, the policy rule to the target management unit based on the first policy parameter. According to the embodiments of the disclosure, an NFVO can be prevented from becoming a policy rule processing bottleneck.

Border gateway protocol routing configuration

A technology is described for updating an Autonomous System Number (ASN) in a Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing configuration. An example method may include receiving a request to update a BGP routing configuration on a gateway with an ASN associated with a customer. In response to the request, the BGP routing configuration on the gateway may be updated to replace a default ASN associated with a computing service provider with the ASN associated with the customer. The BGP routing configuration on the gateway may also be updated to allow the ASN associated with the customer to appear in an Autonomous System (AS) path at least twice, thereby allowing for BGP routes to be exchanged between gateways.

System, method, and computer-implemented method for standardizing electronic identifiers to improve identification of physical equipment

A system, method, and computer-implemented method for automatically and robustly standardizing electronic equipment identifiers with service profile identifiers in a domain of a unified computing system to better facilitate identification of the physical equipment. A particular domain in a domain list may be accessed, and a service profile identifier list of service profile identifiers and an equipment identifier list of equipment identifiers for the particular domain may be accessed. If a particular equipment identifier assigned to a particular piece of equipment (e.g., a blade server) does not include the particular service profile identifier assigned to that equipment, then the particular equipment identifier is changed to include the particular service profile identifier to facilitate identification of the physical equipment. Each service profile identifier in the particular domain is checked, and the process is repeated for any additional domains. The entire process may be repeated at a regular interval (e.g., nightly).
